Official Age of Conan Wiccana - PvE

FYI: I just posted a link in general that has waypoints to resource nodes in the 3 gathering zones.

Keep in mind that the trade post is another 2g and mats to get up. Those of us on DW that are 40+ are working on getting our mounts first before the trade post because (bug should be fixed soon) they'll help in gathering resources. Doing it on foot takes FOREVER.

So Im working on a plan to do 2 things.

1. Establish the guild city and get it to an early point we're happy with

2. Start generating some money as a guild to help our level 40+ folks get some horses. They're bugged at the moment so they dont really give players any advantage but it is a confirmed bug so they'll be fixing it shortly.

So the basic plan of action I came up with
-Claim the Guild City spot
-Get a group together to harvest resources (have to spread out, jump into different instances of the zone, possibly have some relocate to the other gathering zones so we're not competing with each other)
-Pool the resources and build the Keep and Tradepost
-Find a decent way a group of us to get some gold for the guild so that we can get many of our members 3g each to buy a horse with training. (farming resources to sell, running a dungeon to get items to sell, hold a raffle, crafting.... bake sale?) We can continue to gather gold as a guild over the coming weeks to expand the city and continue feeding gold to new level 40 players.

Poly, you really seem to be on the ball with whats needed. Glad you're around, cause I am beyond clueless with all thats involved with the guild city, banks, etc. When you get an action plan down, let me know whatever it is that I (Mynari) can help with.

Broke after the patch

I'll try to catch you tonight, Poly, after we get back from going out to dinner and a birthday party.

I regularly try to sweep areas for resources, although at the moment, I am still just trying to get through all the quests. Money runs will also be in the works as we see how much is necessary for both mounts and city building.

Also: Has anyone else noted that Cotton now seems to be broken? I don't get credit for any gathered.

[Edit] I will be starting an official PvE Guild City thread as soon as we have the base location established. I'll include details on mats required for each level, what various structures offer, and where we are in the progression. I'll continue to update it as I gather (or am given) materials and money.

The podcast convinced me. I'm installing right now. I played a rogue (combat) in WoW, what class would be good for me?

Conq would be good times.
Barbs and Assasins go down hill fast IMHO after 40... hence my reroll.

No! Don't say that! My Assassin can't become useless, it's so much fun at 32 so far!

Just my opinion I should have prefaced that. With Down hill for what I was looking for.

Barb @ 20 =/ Barb @ 40+

I loved my Barb from the pvp weekend (and my videos). It wasn't what I wanted long term.

Once you have your city plot reserved you and the entire guild will for ever be locked into instance X of Potain. Just somthing to consider in that plan.
You can do the same in LP or PLS though.

Ill be able to log on between 8-10pm PST if not earlier tonight (overtime at work is expected but not definite). Ill jump in and head to Potain and anyone who wants to be there for the founding, contribute resources and silver, etc should be there too.

I have a nice collection of ash for sure, and 10-20 of copper and sandstone etc.

8-10 PT is a good time for me, too. We should be through all the party, celebration, dinner events by then.

Has Dolzer hit 40 yet? Because I know that's a requirement to setting up the City.

I have a ways to go to get all the stone, wood, and ore yet, but at least I can work on that actively. My coin situation is a little more bleak, sitting at 41 silver. Donations of anything will eventually go a long way to seeing us getting this going faster, though. I am certainly not going to insist or even ask, but I will appreciate any donations of the core components.

I think our biggest problem right now is the money. I will contribute at least 1/3 of the resources required for the Keep. The money on the other hand is tight, especially since I'm trying to get my hands on the riding skill so I can use my rhino. By now I have the grand total of 43 silver.

It has to be the leader and not just someone with the highest rank? I could promote you if that would work. Dolzer is 38 I believe. Close to 39 but it would take a little time to get to 40 either way.

I intend to have the guild help pay for riding. Money is too hard to come by to not help, so we should all be looking for ways to earn it. Its part of why I want the trade house first after the keep but we can make trips out to the cities too, no big deal there. So dont worry about your cash not coming back

It may be a good idea to level Dolzer to 40 in Fields of the Dead and sell all the loot we get towards the Keep.

Can you promote me? That would be great. I have spent all day working mines, making map notes, etc, so I am ready to get this rolling.

Suhn hit level 40 and I picked up Architecture. I have the list and will make a formalized thread for it later.

I can when I get home. Actually Certis can tell us if it will work if he can see any kind of Claim village option (or something like that) in his guild tab. Its been a while since I looked so I forget exactly what it says, but he’s got the highest rank just like I would give to Suhn and if he can’t see it then we have to get Dolzer to 40 first.

Edit: Rabbit and Elysium also have the highest rank possible, they can check the guild tab.

Has to be done by the guild leader.

Suhn was given highest rank and was able to establish the Guild City.

I was able to use my Mammoth without buying the riding skill MoonDragon. I would think the rhino would be the same, but not 100% sure on that.

For the horse later, Im pretty sure you will need the riding skill though.

Then how do you use it?

I tried right clicking on it. Left clicking on it. Putting it on my GUI bars and clicking on it.

My rhino just works no skill needed

Be 40.

Ok, so I finally rolled up on this server because some of my RL friends decided that PvP was a pain. So I'll be playing with them from time to time. My toon is Craedan (same as it is on Deathwhisper) and I'm a priest of Mitra.

Who am I supposed to contact for an invite to the guild, especially since I'm intimidated by the nine billion posts in here and don't want to read from the get-go. (My apologies of course).

Read the very first post, Sheep.

I was 40. Is there a limitation on where or when you can mount? Do you need full stamina or something?

Some dungeons you can not mount in.

Try it today in an outside zone. I.e. Wildlands etc and if it still doesn't work shoot a petition off.

I wasn't sure if things had changed since then and wanted to avert any embarrassment on my part. I know on the PvP server, we've got tighter restrictions. I'll make myself part of the family soon!

Has anyone found out if the rhino not going any faster than walking is the same bug as the horses not going faster than walking? Just curious if when the bug is fixed maybe the mamoth or the rhino will get faster too.

Could have sworn mammoths and rhinos were siege mounts, and not made for traveling faster.

Certis wrote:

You are likely right, but I think a rhino or mammoth (when enticed to) could move faster than me on foot. So I figured it could possibly be tied into the same bug. Like I said though you are probably right as it might be too much of an advantage for just pre-ordering the game if it increased movement speed.

Have you seen how fast those cows in Potain are?

Now there's a thought... start making saddles for the cows and pigs of Potain. I'm rather hoping I don't have to resort to farming them for leather for that stupid quest.

I'm curious. Where have people had the most luck on Leather?

It seems to me, I had the most luck with Lynx in WL for Rough and Crocs in Khopshef for Brindled, but in my second go around, it felt like the adjusted the drop rates already as I was getting better drops from hard mobs and fewer from the lower lynx.

For the gathering quest. I've had the most luck from the NPC's that attack me in Pontain. The leather i've got in the wild is different from what that gathering quest is wanting. At this rate it'll be next year before i get more.
