Ok, Here is everything I was able to find. Including some stuff Gumbie posted in the Gears and Beers post.

Interview with Cliffy B

Please add any info you may have come across, or any guesses about the gooey sweetness that will be inside the hard-shelled goodness that is Gears of War!
Speculation I had read from (I think) Eurogamer included mention of 5v5 multiplayer, new modes with full-respawn (blech), more "downed enemy" options (X=curbstomp, Y=weapon-specific kill, B=melee kill, A=meatshield), all weapons have some level of "stopping power", making it harder to run or roll out of the way, portable cover, poison gas grenades, default gas grenades have some stun ability and I think it had some mention of Halo-like matchmaking....
What I'd like to see would be a better hosting scheme - or at least the ability to change hosts easily, larger groups in multiplayer (8v8 would be intense - with the right map). I want your meatshield to be able to hear what you are saying, there is some prime taunting there.

Ideally he hears it as you whispering creepily in his ear.

Man that's an awesome list -- thanks for the link! It's great to hear that they've been working on the netcode, and a lot of the other general improvements sound like a lot of fun too. I'm looking forward to the ghost cam option, given the amount of time I spend dead
It sounds like a lot of my issues with the first one are being addressed in the sequel. I'm more excited about this game now than I was before.
I liked this from Xbox360fanboy.com:
*The dev team calls chainsaw kills from behind, "Chainsodomy".
That's clearly the only thing that was missing from the first game (oh, plus reasonable net code).
My wishlist:
- Automated skill balancing. Win a chainsaw duel, take a shot! (Requires special controller.)
- Vote on new host option. Useful for when the host passes out in the bathroom.
- Minigames for dead players. Nice for those players that die early and often.
- Ability to suicide when downed - end the humiliation early.
- Ability to slap the pistol out of the downed enemy's hands before he can commit suicide.
Vote on new host option. Useful for when the host passes out in the bathroom.
Damn, hate when that happens.

That's it. I'm doing it from behind from now on.
I just listened to the podcast on gearheadsofwar.com and they had Dave Ellis from 1up video on as a guest. He has played a fair amount of MP and states several time that around the office they are referring to this as "Gears of Halo" (in a good way). That is a promising sign.

Really? I didn't hear you complaining.

These plus:
Fix the broken freaking netcode.
Make turning your character faster. It should not be faster to duck and roll around and turn than it is to just turn on your own.

It is faster to just turn while not aiming than it is to roll and turn, which is really just abusing the roadie run mechanic. You don't actually have to do the dive roll, which is just covering up the delay of holding the A button to initiate a roadie run.
Play the original ye bastids!
•GameDaily's 10 Questions for Cliff garnered this response:
Q." "Is there any way to remove the HOST ADVANTAGE in Gears of War?"
A.: "We have many, many optimizations planned for Gears 2 that will 'drastically' reduce these issues as well as another few tricks up our sleeves that I'm not able to reveal quite yet. Trust me that it's really high on our list of things to make right."
•Cliff mentioned "off-loading the voice server" to increase the bandwidth for optimum MP. "At least 30 percent" improved performance.
Can I get a f*ck YEAH!

I have that issue sitting on my desk right now. I can make scans if you want.

I was going to point some out at another site, but I wasn't sure about the legalities involved.
Magazine scans pop up all the time. I'm sure this article has been posted in many places already. But since it's already out there, I won't bother.
Ah, seems like EGM is cracking down on the scans. The ones that I've seen so far are pretty bad. They cut out the entire article and left the pictures. *shrug*
There's another interview with CliffyB Cliff Bleszinski up:

Some choice quotes: "I felt like the Gears cover system worked like 85 percent of the time and we want to get as close to 100 percent as we can." and "People loved it but they didn't like the host advantage. They got tired of the shotgun inconsistencies. We're fixing all of that.". Hell freaking yes!

I wish you could hear the maniacal laugh that is escaping from my lips as I read this. I can't think of a single other game, not WoW, Halo, or Counter-strike, where I've poured over the game changes as closely as this one. You'll definitely see me back online more often when the game comes out. Check out this awesome sh*t:
Downed with Grenade Equipped (Martyrdom)- Wait for an enemy to approach for a killing move. Press the R- Trigger to detonate your frag and blow both of you to smithereens!
poison gas grenade
Smoke grenades now carry a concussive stun effect that ragdolls anyone within its blast radius and knocks any shields from their hands
Bullet shields. Metal shield (adorned with Locust symbols) that blocks enemy fire. You can only equip a pistol when carrying the shield. Movement will be dramatically slower when using the shield. They can be planted into the ground to create new cover by squatting behind it. Enemies can kick it down if they get close enough. Although the size of the shield looks to be about the size of a character's torso, the shield's side flanges flair out when planted into the ground creating a larger shielded area (similar to an addition sign "+"). Any exposed body part when shield-wielding is fair game.
EGM speculates could include a mortar-type of weapon.
Awesome if true. Indirect fire adds a wonderful layer of strategy if used correctly (ie, suppression). Imagine Escalation (the staircase map) in which you had the defenders at the top shooting mortars down on the attackers at the bottom.
(online) Party system has been confirmed
HA! GWJ vs the unwashed masses. Pray for mercy.
On games with no respawn, you can fly around the map as a "ghost cam" when you are dead. You can even take screenshots that will be uploaded to the community
This feature will be abused like the naughty girl it is.
Saved film possibility?
Weapons will rotate by their appropriate class after each round on a map
Don't know how I feel about that, some of Inigo's weapon placements were truly horrible :-p
"Wingman" has 10 players split into teams of two. You and a buddy team up, sharing a single character model in this five teams of two game mode (e.g. Marcus and Marcus vs Dom and Dom, etc). You can only communicate with your tag team partner.- EGM July '08
•"Meatflag" (variation of CTF-Epic style). The flag will instead be an AI-character (one of three trashtalking Stranded characters) wandering around the center of the map. That character has his own weapons and even a place on the leaderboard. To capture him; you will need to down him first, then pick him up as a meatshield, and take him back to your base. If you shoot the 'meatflag' enough times while he's being dragged back to the enemies' base, his captor will lose him and he'll go berserk on everyone around him.
"River": Each team has a thin strip of land with a cottage and sniping tower is a river separated by a bridge crossing it. Underneath the bridge is a power weapon.- EGM July '08
•"Security": long thin map. To the left and right are stairs leading to verandas that run the entire length of the map. You are barred access by red lasers, which will kill you if you attempt to pass through. A power weapon is barred on the other side of the map while the other end is defended by sentry guns. There is a button in the middle of the map that turns off the lasers and sentries for 20 seconds.- X360 July '08
•Gridlock returns, but looks overgrown with vegetation (shown in Game Informer Gears 2 issue).- GI May '08
•Subway & Gridlock are the only known Gears 1 maps returning.
Sounds like the ol' Halo 1 map Boarding Action.
I felt like the Gears cover system worked like 85 percent of the time and we want to get as close to 100 percent as we can.
Some of the games to Gears 1's cover system didn't exactly go over like gangbusters, so I'm hesitant about how effect the changes will be. I can't imagine the cover system regressing, though.
When you're targeting a guy and he goes back behind cover and you have another unannounced weapon which is doing serious damage...We have this whole chart of things we've announced and things we haven't...I always have to cross-reference it in my head. Let's just say we leverage as much as we can whore the feature.
ie, you hide behind cover, I blow up said cover.
larger groups in multiplayer (8v8 would be intense - with the right map).
Well...
Halo Team Slayer is 4-v-4, and of course that game allows for 8-v-8 matches. I've noticed a significant reduction of teamplay in those large matches. You just can't have 8 people on the same team chat channel and have any sort of order. Plus, 8 people requires a certain amount of coordination that I've never seen outside of a highly disciplined clan. So count me skeptical, but the idea is still cool.
When I read about the "meatflags" awhile back, I got all warm inside, and a bit of a giggle came out. Crap, I hope the boy goes to bed early tonight so I can get some Gears in!!
I've read that list souldaddy posted before, but after I reading it again...I still creamed my pants a little bit.
I gotta be honest, I'm just looking forward to getting drunk and spamming the voice channel again. Where's Idgaf?

I know the feeling, I am so excited for it
Gears of War 2 will be great, I need to go and preorder it.
