Goddamn it, I can't find video of Manny Ramirez' catch where he caught the ball, high-fived a fan, then threw out the runner....but I'd raise you that one!

**EDIT** FOUND IT!

Ya just gotta love the game and someone who loves and plays it soooo well. What a treat!

Goddamn it, I can't find video of Manny Ramirez' catch where he caught the ball, high-fived a fan, then threw out the runner....but I'd raise you that one!

Actually if you watch the vid, there was no hi five unless you count this as a high five --

Manny hi-five

w00t! John Lester just no-hit the Royals!

Jeez, nit-pick much? I count it, like ESPN and most of the sporting press.

Wow! Bravos sweep Mets in 4 game set. Is this the end for Willie Randolph?

Atlanta almost back up into pennant position. Thank you Mets.

Hey, I didn't get hit yesterday, either. You don't see me getting excited about it.

Between that, the dissent in the clubhouse and his nutty referrences to racism, I don't think he'll be around much longer if they dont't start winning.

Geeze the Mariner's suck. I can't believe how this $117 million team plays so badly. Johjima played like a pansy at home. Instead of moving up to the ball to catch it at home and block the plate to get 'smacked' like any good catcher should, he get's on the other(!) side of the plate and daintly reaches for the ball which he drops cause it's a complete arm length away from him and the runner just dashes it aside like its a fly. Beltre is just completely not living up to is gold glove of last year (and they need to get rid of that commercial that promotes it, 'cause it just ain't so joe.). And good lord, he's going to take off like a helo if he keeps(!) swiping at those balls up at the top of his head while batting. Geeze. Ichiro is having a so-so season so far (for him) both offensively and defensively (Pitcher Silva's tirade in which he say's some players are just doing 'their' thing (get two hit's etc., and I'm done) and shrugging off the loss. But basically it's everybody. Coaches making wrong decisions (waving Betancourt in on short fly to left with the hottest swinger on the club right now, Lopez coming up to bat?); Player's just not getting it done the way you know(!) they can. Some have fire in their belly, but most just sit in the dugout and moan and groan. No real club house leadership. Vets or anybody. And then, just before the game the camera sweeps thru the dugout and their playing pansy a** or chuckling over some mundane thing. No serious look of 'got to get it done': For the fans, the manager who keeps sticking up for them and they do squat, AND for themselves. Yea, big bucks in your pocket, but gawd, where's the pride in playing the game(!!).

The Mariners are proving like the Yankees do that it takes more than money to win.

My Sox are proving that it takes more than wining to be good--or at least I think that's Ozzie's argument.

Anybody want to opine as to why a team white a great bullpen and crappy hitting would pick up Loaiza (again)?

"They Fight Like Girls"

Best quote after a baseball game that has ever been, or will ever be.

I Dunno... THIS ONE has a certain charm, too!

LOL!

Well a depleted Boston line-up and Colon seeing images that weren't there at second base helped the Mariner's win one at Boston last night. I'm sure Swampy was grinding his teeth so badly smoke was coming out of his jaws:>) F. Hernandes didn't have his best stuff, but it was enough and now has pitched 15 scoreless innings at Fenway( most in the majors). I'm sure it will be a different story today. But miracles can happen (so they say!)

I charged the mound, couldn't land a punch and got beat down but I'll act like it didn't hurt to make me look tough

Fixed.

Also, one game closer

Hey Swampy, I've been meaning to ask how many games you try and see at Fenway? (and how many you'd like(!) to go to...like all!:>) Just curious.

As of now I have no plans. If I had the resources, I'd see as many as I could, up to and including having season tickets. But that would require a lottery win.

Mets fire manager Willie Randolph, plus pitching coach Rick Peterson and first base coach Tom Nieto.

Good ol' Jerry Manuel. He's the anti-Ozzie.

Ichiro in 1996? Do you mean 1996 in Japan because he did play in North America until 2001.

Whoops. Mean't 2006.

Mariner's fired GM Bavisi of 4 years that fans and critics alike have been clamoring to do for at least two years. Nice guy, but didn't have the baseball astuteness for the right deals it seems.

Balantien is going back to AAA Tacoma and J. Clement coming back up to The Show. More may be to follow, but most pundits think McLaren will probably keep his job for the duration because they don't want too much change, but CEO Armstrong said 'anything' can happen, including Ichiro or Hernandes trade (right...I doubt that). But Bedard has not played up to expectations and I'm sure the Mariner's will wheel and deal during upcoming trades. But who knows. (btw, Ichiro has been moved to rigth field. First time since 2006. Willie was a dead man walking for a while. They really dissed him the way they let him go, too.

This move has no class written all over it. Good timing, dooshbags.

The Dodgers win without a hit. And the Angels shall be the butt of many a baseball joke for a while.

Rays still in 1st with 2 more games against Boston this week! It's been awhile since I've been excited about baseball this late in the year!

The (White) Sox game last night was fairly depressing after the third inning. On the other hand, there was a lot of highlight reel material, especially in the outfield.

I'm disgusted with the Red Sox - No, not with their inability to score any runs.... But for not suspending Manny for shoving a 65 year old man to the floor in a snit over ticket allotments. What a piece of sh*t he is. The silly stuff I can put up with, but assaulting fellow players, not defending fellow players against the cheap-shot Rays, and now beating up an old man - Too much! A team with stones would suspend him for 10 games.

No wonder some young athletes behave like goons, with examples like this.

I have to say, wvwn though I hate the Cheap Shot Rays who fight like girls with the burning intensity of a thousand suns, it is refreshing to see a small market team enjoying success and seeing their fan base bloom. I was in Clearwater on business and caught a Rays Yankees game. I was rooting for the Rays that night, but there were far more Skankees fans in the stands then. Not so anymore. I'm watching the Sox lose game two, and the TB fans are annoyingly loud.

Woot Rays sweep Boston!

I'm just glad that cheap shot Cookie Crisp wasn't playing. If it went like last time if a Rays pitcher throws a strike he may rush the mound from the dugout because he thinks it was thrown to close to him...
