Official Age of Conan Wiccana - PvE

Not sure if this is useful, but I received a guild invite from someone while I was offline and it was waiting for me when I logged in.

Can I get an invite for my Assassin? His name is Ithalos an Aquilonian and he's level 18 1/2. I looked last night but there was no legion of the broken oar with the search parameters to include all guilds so I don't know what that was all about.

I think our name is too big and gets cut out of the list.

Its been on the list before so it can't be a strict rule that names beyond x characters won't show up.

At lunch Ill log in and send out some offline invites to see what happens. I just got error messages doing it last night but maybe the invite goes through despite the message.

I've seen the guild name show up before. You have to make sure the search parameters are as flexible as possible meaning search for levels 1-80 (does it only allow 5-80?) and members 1-1000. If you are in a guild then I don't think the guild you are in will show in the list.

Can I get an invite for my guy. Name is Sapcrom.

Thanks

In game name Brizahd. Messing with the guild search is like its own minigame.

Unless someone else really wants to take on the role of Architect, I'd like to give that particular Guild role a shot as Suhn. It looks interesting and something that would really enhance our guild's strength.

Sounds great Shade. I havent decided on a craft myself, will probably be Armorsmithing.

I'm not sure whats needed, but if there's any help I can provide Shade, let me know.

Mynari was leaning towards Gemcutting or Alchemy, not sure which yet.

Fanatka would love an invite...tried in-game, but the guild name wouldn't show.

Thanks!

I intend to go Alchemy with Bobbik. That much is for sure. He goes through way too many foods and potions to be able to afford it all. Hopefully making my own will come from just playing the game. As far as mats for other crafters go, I'm actively collecting whatever I can and will provide those mats freely to whomever needs it for their crafting.

I would personally suggest everybody makes a trek to the gathering zone at level 20 and pick up all 6 of the tradeskills quests. Don't go out of your way to collect the mats required, but while you quest up to 40, every time you run past a resource node, give it a few plinks. Eventually you'll get all the mats necessary and it won't be an inconvenience.

I was gonna create a poll for voting for our city location, but can't. So if someone else can, that would be fantastic. I believe our choices are Purple Lotus Swamp (Stygia), Lacheish Plains (Cimmeria), Poitain (Aquilonia). I would suggest to everybody to visit all three before they make up their mind.

I also was planning on going Architect but since the bulk of city building is pre-destined (ie, no choice in regards to where walls, stores, etc all go) there seems to be very little to actually coordinate aside from pooling resources.

At this time however, I would suggest refraining from doing any building effort until they have fixed things. There are a lot of accounts now of plans and resources "failing" and being lost in the process of building. Since gathering resources is time-consuming and expensive as it is already, losing out on them with no gain is a pretty huge risk to be taking until they've got this fixed.

As for location, I would suggest eliminating Lacheish Plains as it seems to be the most tedious of the three to access in both travel distance and difficulty. Poitain and Purple Lotus are apparently much closer to their respective zones and do not have nearly as many higher level mobs to travel thru as a result.

Poitain.

All hail Aquilonia!

I suggest Poitain (over Purple Lotus Swamp) for a few reasons.

1) It will be different than Deathwhisper who plans on Purple Lotus Swamp. This allows us to see some different graphical displays and development of our main GWJ guild cities.

2) The resources in Poitain are on par with PLS, but the lead-in zone of Wild Lands is better for gathering materials. Thus, those who are working towards advancing their gathering quests will find it easier to accomplish in the Wild Lands.

3) Old Tartania is a hub city (only city with access to the other two starting towns) and the Wild Lands to Poitain route is off of OT.

Beyond that, I don't see any reason why we can't start working towards preparing to build our Guild City. Sunh is almost 38, so 40 isn't far off.

There are components to building each unit to our Guild City, starting with the Keep. The Keep will need the following:

200 Sandstone Blocks
100 Ash Cuttings
150 Silver Ore
50 Copper Ore
2.5 Gold (coin)

I'll keep tabs on what we collect and what I will be short on as I hit 40. As there will be even more resources needed as we progress, any donations towards the cause will be greatly appreciated.

Once we settle in on a place and I hit 40 with Suhn, I'll make an official thread on the subject (like Deathwhisper is doing) and we can plan accordingly.

I like the idea of building in Potain, but I want to go see the zone before I officially lay down my endorsement for it. Purple Lotus is pretty but laggy (on my machine) Lacheish Plains is ok but kinda hard to get to.

I'd like to hear some thoughts on some kind of government for this guild. We've got tons of folks now and we're all getting used to how things go in the game, and what sorts of needs we have. It would be nice to have a small group of folks people could look to as leaders. I have a couple of activities to try so we can make things like city building, dungeon running, crafting and gathering all easier to accomplish as a group.

A couple of criteria for our leaders:
-active
-friendly
-knowledgable
-willing!

If you want to volunteer or have someone to nominate, you can post here or PM me or message me in game (Dolzer). I'd prefer not to make the process overly democratic/dramatic/drawn out so lets get some names and set things up, see how it goes.

LoBO Deathwhisper built the keep in Poitain tonight, check the screenshots thread:

I couldn't find Legion of the Broken Oar in the guild list on Waccana. Whats up?

Hehe. I still prefer Poitain, even if they suddenly jumped ship and stole our idea.

Just a bunch of us finally went to PLS and checked it out. Place is on stilts and annoying to get around in Looks amazing though.

Also, PVE side, even if we can't build a keep immediately, getting the plot ASAP is never a bad idea.

So, I finally got a chance to visit Lacheish Plains last night. For the pure pretiness of the zones, I'd rate them 1. Poitain, 2. Lacheish Plains, 3. Purple Lotus Swamp.

For access Poitain and PLS are, I believe, equal. PLS is a bit easier to get to (just run straight on the map) but you have to run through some higher level mobs (27ish).

As far as access to mats in their associated 20-30 zones, I think PLS and Poitain are about even, if you can deal with those same 27ish mobs in Khopshef province.

So overall, I'd definately vote for Poitain.

For mats, I can spot you at least a third of those raw mats. Money may be a bit tighter through as I only have 30ish silver by now. Hopefully money starts coming in a bit faster soon. Would it perhaps make sense to implement a guild tithe? Something like: when you hit 40, you gotta pay 30s to the guild bank towards building our guild city? Or maybe 5 silver every 10 levels (with the exception of the first 20)? After all everybody will be profiting from the guild benefits bestowed by the cities.

Money loot almost doubles when you reach the Field of the Dead.

No matter what zone your city is in. You can reach it from any of the resource zones.
The NPC you will talk to, too gain entrace to the zone will port you to the city.
Same in the main city of the zone the City Guide will port you to your city as well.

Thank for the input, Moon.. yeah.. I think Poitain is going to be where we will be building our Guild City.

As for donations, you know... I am going to just ask people to do what they can. I hesitate to Tithe because some players are better at learning the tricks of the game, some have more time to dedicate to money grinding, etc.

So, at this point, I am going to only ask that people do what they can to contribute towards the financing of our Guild City. All of this is slightly premature as I still have a couple of levels to go to hit 40 and need to get the trade skill. I'll certainly put more detail in what I have, what I am short on, and what options we have after the initial keep in our PvE Guild City forum thread when I get there. Then we can really sit down and examine how we want to proceed.

Hey Shade the quest for Architect is going to try and trick you to turn in the first 2.5 gold plans back to him.

I wouldn't do that with the first one.

Wait till some more people are up in the mid 40s and raise the cash again for the quest set. It will be easier to do then.

You can do everything you need for a tier 1 city with out finishing the quest so you have some time.

Ah! Excellent insight there! I will definitely take that route then.

Turning that first set in will have a number of angry donors on your hands
