Age of Conan General Discussion

Swat, set up your forum name and pw while on the funcom website.

When I try logging in to the forums it acts like it is working but spits me back to the username and password screen. I just found out by mistake that it does log me, but doesn't show me the forums. I clicked on register, and saw it show welcome brizahdwizahd in the upper right corner. From there I could click on the forums.

It tells me registration is currently disabled.

Oh I was wondering can anyone in the guild add to the guild vault? If I decide to scrap a few characters I'd like to throw their junk in storage instead of selling it. I can't decide what class I like. I wasn't liking my Dark Templar so I started a Guardian. Is there a way to respec feats? Maybe I'd like the templar more if I tried the other feats. I went all devouring touch so far. I don't seem to be doing enough dmg to make it worthwhile.

In Tortage there is a feat respec guy at the harbor next to the tall cliff with ladder.

Awesome! Thank you Karmajay. Looking at that feat calc I might try spreading a little between the 3 trees instead of focussing on just one like I was doing.

Anyone know where to respec feats outside of Tortage?

According to the forums the feat fixers are in the major cities, but they are called Trainers.

How much does it cost to respec?

In Tortage the Feat Fixer is currently free. The "Trainers" supposedly cost 50c.

Has anyone tried to register their retail key? I entered mine, but my account screen never changed.
I went through the 3 or 4 steps it takes to upgrade and now if I try to re-enter my key it says it isn't valid.

Maybe I'm being impatient?

I see this on the official forums regarding codes Maxox ---

You need to register your retail code and MAKE SURE TO UPDATE YOUR SUBSCRIBTION when you do it or it will not work.
After you put in the code and hit enter it brought you to another page showing what you have attempted to do.

You need to then also click on the lil "apply changes" or whatever its called on that page.

Then you should be able to go back and see all your in game items when you view your subscription.

If it is not there, you have not completed that last step mentioned above.

Once you see the items listed, log out of AOC (if you were alt tabbed) and log back in and your all good

Also, got my box from gamestop today and the Art/Story book is nice, can't wait to read it fully!

Heck why not now, since I can't log in!

did anyone try logging into their release account using the closed beta client to see if it would patch itself?

Would rather not spend an hour deleting and reloading the 25+gigs this sucker uses if I do not have too....

Do we need to uninstal the EA stuff? I let a friend back home log in and play using my account. He missed out on the Preorder and EA so yesterday he went and bought a box off the shelf. I had stuff to do with the wife so told him he could play. I wasn't positive it would work, but it did. So now he kinda has a little heads up when the game goes live tomorrow.

I was really hoping I wouldn't have to touch my actual disc at all.

I found these posts too, but i need to know where. From one description i know where to find the one in Old Tarntia, but i'm in Cimmeria at the moment.

Does anyone know what time tomorrow the game goes live for those of us not lucky enough to have been in the EA run? It so better be up when I get home from work with my retail copy!

Is there a way to delete characters?

on the right corner of the character screen is a link to delete character

Server down time was extended to 12pm EST. This sucks, it took up a whole day out of the Early Release for most people.

Server down time was extended to 12pm EST

Holy crap that sucks. Very irritating but what can you do.

Yeah there goes my plan to get out of Tortage tonight. Not happy they planned this outage when they did it would have been much smarter to do it in the early morning say starting 10 am GMT.

I'm not Female Doggoing about the downtime as I've gotten used to server maintenance from my 3+ years with WoW. I do have a question though for you tech people. What exactly does a company do to a server for 8 hours to "prep" it for launch. Especially in light of the fact that half the servers have already been up for almost three days. It's not like someone walked in at 1:00pm and screamed "OMG we need to get all our servers up by 5:00pm"!

Well not sure what they are doing but my general guess would be that there is some common server/cluster that they need people to not be messing with as they stand-up/join/connect other servers.

Is only a guess though because in 8 hours is a long time and I would think that they would have stood/built these stand alone then joined them all up as last step.

Maybe they are hand making the cable and raking all the machines as we speak.

Last minute character wipes before final release ...

On the DX10 thing: I associate DX10 with "awesome godrays" ala Crysis, which I definitely get daytime int he swamp. Maybe its just good imitation?

Anyone else been playing a Necromancer ?
I played one to lvl 14 and I'm thinking of just going melee with Assassin or Herald of Xotli since I find the necro to lack the combo fun of the hand to hand combat.

Lot of these classes come into their own at higher levels. When a caster is able to do spell weaving you'll have plenty of combos to do.

Plus it's the way the game is structured. The way the game is played 20+ is different than what you're used to from 1-20.

Either way if you're not happy... play what ya want.

I had trouble in the open beta with a necro but only played him a bit at lower levels then at level 20 so I am not an expert.

At first he really rocked.

Then when I got bumped to 20 it stunk. First I had trouble dealing with multiples with the way they did damage with DoTs and the root I had was not ranged.

I found the Demo to be a lot more powerful and more in line with my play style.

I am sure I just stunk at playing one but I had a real hard time with him compared to the Demonologist.

Actually, according to Funcom, DirectX 10 isn't included in the initial release of the game and won't even be shown until the German Games Convention in Leipzig in August so it's gotta be something like that.

As soon as you find one, let me know. My Barbarian is mistakenly specced in two-weapon combat. Two-handed combat is THE WAY TO GO. I adore wielding a sword that's as large as my toon.
