Avatar: The Last Airbender - S3 Catch All Thread *Spoilers*

So, caught up last night. Still good stuff, on the whole. I'd like to see the phrase "Your tiny bladder got us all killed" in as many other forms of media as possible.

Did this start back up again in America? I caught the Western Air Temple and the Firebending Masters (or whatever) on youtube. Regardless, they were good episodes. I really like Zuko with the team. And is it me, or does Katara always seem to go vicious Female Doggo on any guy who ever did her wrong in the past? I mean that's the closest I've ever heard a show come to saying the word "kill" on Nickelodeon I've ever experienced.

*edit* Apologies for any spoilers you may have read.

Nope.

Does anyone have any ideas on when the next episodes are airing? Kat and I Netflixed s3 1-10 and found 11-13 online, but I can't find any information other then a few stray rumors about the air dates of the rest.

LIVE!

Just saw Boiling Rock pts 1 & 2. WOW! They aren't pulling any punches it seems. And,

Didn't even know those new episodes had been released, guess I have to get them now..

Definitely.

I really enjoyed the new disc. Good times. I'm still sort of weirded out that I like this show, but do I ever.

I'm kinda sad that the series is coming to an end. I really like this one.

Yeah but luckily Nickelodeon is pretty good at whoring it's properties. Avatar: The Later Years or Avatar: The Firebender

The Boiling Rock episodes were pretty good, I still really enjoy the combat and wish they had more of it since they do it so well.

I really see this show heading for a story arc based on him having attained all his avatar powers. There will still be problems that he needs to solve, otherwise why did the avatar exist before him.

Lest we forget, he still has to rebuild the Air Nomads. And find more air bison and dragons. And then there's finding love interests for all the younger characters because, hey, its Nickelodeon.

Not gonna happen. The series finale is on Volume 4 dvd on July 29, and then will air on Nick.

I didn't even know there were new episodes out. Thank goodness, especially since I wanted to see what was going to happen since they've apparently collected the Handicapable Multicultural All-Stars. I'm just saying, they're one smart-aleck black kid away from every after-school special between 1988 and 1995.

Well, for those of you like myself who live in the US and have the last episode aired as Day of Black Sun; the series is kicking up again in July. There seem to be several episode yet to air.

They're actually already available on DVD, which is how everyone has been watching the latest episodes. If you don't want to grab them, then you'll have to wait until July for the next batch to air. The next DVD comes out on July 29th which contains the series finale. Those episodes will not be aired until August.

Right, so, ignore me accidentally posting in the S2 thread and let's just see if anyone's been watching this week. Also, whatever the writers for this show get paid, it probably isn't enough.

I don't have cable anymore, so I went back and rewatched the whole series to kill time before my internet was hooked up. I'd like to just say I love what they did with Zuko's arc. That is what I like to call character development. It was on par with Cordelia's in the Buffyverse. And how awesome is Katara getting? Especially the end scene in "The Western Air Temple." I expect big things from the last 6 episodes.

Very interesting episode. Very good, too. I'm glad they're actually addressing this problem with Katara.

Sleipnir and I plan on making this an Avatar Marathon weekend. Apparently the newest two episodes are running tonight, and then the series finale movie, Sozen's Comet, is on tomorrow night. Awesome sauce.

It was a very pleasant surprise to see my DVR filled up with Avatar episodes including 1 that I hadn't seen yet. Now I'm all excited for the weekend.

I stand by Grenn's comment. It was quite interesting and I like how they handled everything with Katara, they didn't go some sugar coating route.

Caught The Southern Raiders and The Ember Island Players tonight - I really liked them both. Kat and I both groaned when the recaps for Players showed that awful beach episode early in the season, but I found the episode quite amusing upon watching

Gonna finally finish off the series tomorrow night - looking forward to it.

What I like about this show is how they all so obviously act their age. Last night, while Sleipnir and I were watching "The Ember Island Players", he said "God, Aang is such a thirteen year old boy" at the exact same time I said, "God, Katara is such a fourteen year old girl". (You know the part.)

Also: Sokka and Suki? How scandalous! And, of course, exactly what 15 year olds would be doing if left alone with tents and no parents.

That was a great finale - I feel exhausted though. Season 3 didn't start strong, but it ended really, really well.

Wow.

I think I got lulled into thinking there would be four books, so this was an amazing ending. I honestly did not know if things would wrap up, or if there would be more set backs.

Probably one of the most satisfying series finales I've ever seen.

Wow. What an amazing series finale. That had to be the most satisfying ending I've ever seen.

Does anyone have information about that scene with

Do we need to use spoiler tags in here? The thread is clearly marked spoiler-ific, after all.

Anyway, I loved the movie. And I especially loved that Aang *didn't* kill the Fire Lord. Aang's powers are, quite literally, mindbending. Clever.

Very satisfying ending all around, even the part that we never saw Ozai's answer to Zuko's question. Yes, it's nice to have your narratives wrapped up in a little bow, but even if Nick never does another thing with the franchise (which we know it will), that scene implies the story keeps going, and the universe and the characters persist. The idea that Aang & Co. continue to have more adventures together, even if I don't get to see them, is comforting - the whole "every end is a new beginning" thing, etc.

Just trying to be courteous for those who may not have seen the finale. I loved Zuko's apology to Iroh. And Azula's defeat. However, as a details man, I tend to want lots of explanations. What happens after. How many kids do the couples have? Does Toph find a pretty boy to shack up with? Does she reconcile with her parents? Does the earth king retake the throne? What about the Dai Li? And the big question of Zuko's mom.

That said, the ending was phenominal. I don't see why they couldn't craft another story in this universe, but a completely different time and cast.

Azula's breakdown was so...dune-esque. It was awesome.
In short, I want a white lotus off shoot series.

What a great series this was. I first found out about it by trying to find the video for a song and finding a crappy AMV with Avatar scenes. Who knew it would be this cool.

The finale had everything I wanted. Tells what happened to Ty Lee (still don't like her) and Mai. Kyoshi warriors are fine. Sokka looking stepping it up was cool, as was Aang's use of neutral gin. And just deserts all around.

Oh, and three cheers for Azula's psychotic break! I hated her. I really liked her vision of her mother in the mirror having nothing but nice things to say about her.
