SommerMatt in with the early page win!

Bah, pictures of my dog being overshadowed by SommerMatt's response to my own comment! How embarrassing, I hate being the last post on a page.....:)

Aawww Gameraotaku, Haplo is adorable.

On Monday one of my coworkers brought in a momma kitty and her 5 kittens that had been abandoned on their property. Her husband had accidentally run one over. Our only two options were to euthanize the kitten that was run over or for someone to step up and pay for her surgery. I couldn't let her die so on Tuesday she went under. She made it through just fine and now she's getting plenty of TLC from me.

This is Teeny a few hours after surgery.

What a cutie!

That's incredibly sweet of you, luna. You're a good person.

I love the pic of wide-eyed Teeny caught in flagrante with his monkey plushie. Just screams for the LOLCat treatment.

I don't even like cats, but seriously... that one is adorable.

You're a mensch.

Bravo Luna! Thanks for stepping forward and helping out poor Teeny when she needed. The world needs more people like you.

Oooooooh yeah.

That little darling is yours.

Tell Zero he is in denial.

Thanks, guys. Unfortunately in my line of work this is a situation that will come up again. I have to learn that I can't save every animal. That's really difficult.

And Chiggie, I don't think zero is in denial anymore. Especially after the comment he made this morning.

Blow me.

But someone else may have to be the good person that time.

As many reasons as there are for us to not have a cat (such as, say, our apartment complex not allowing them ), she is undeniably pretty close to the cutest thing on earth -- the pictures don't do her justice.

This is Tiki, a Blue Fronted Amazon. He's 16 years old and we just adopted him from Lil'Bean's child care facility. He's very friendly and has a good repertoire of vocalizations. If you're eating something, he'll ask "You like that?" He sings "Oh what a ..." and of course we all chime in "beautiful morning!" He say "Hi!" when you walk in the room.

Such language from a cat owner.

Cat caretaker, damnit.

Damnit.

There. I fixed the inflection for you.

Nobody owns a cat. The cat owns you! Just ask them.
Cattitude!

Dogs have owners.

Cats have staff.

Here is Moxie now.

I'll take the one on the right.

The late great Deacon, who died on me this past January of cancer and broke my heart into a million pieces. Best Dog EVER, a companion who made me feel unworthy of his loyalty and friendship.

ColeTrain (You can't stop the Train, Baby!) Who makes me feel better about life (Even though he eats things he has no right to!)

After many years I finally talked V-0 into getting a dog! Here she is....

Aww, what a sweetheart Buttercup. What's her name?

Here is a recent shot of our dachshund Mukie, waiting on Ms. tanstaafl to get home...
