Wife edition? That sounds similar to Fear Factor. So does that mean we'll have a playboy edition?
Woohoo females!
Oh that's just great... remind us singles how lonely and pathetic we are!
Btw your wives have lovely voices. They sound young and virile.
Sean has in-laws over? Aren't they criminals that have been caught?
Thanks guys, for giving tips on trapping a woman by getting her into gaming. I get the jist of it - they think that they become too nerdy and then have no chance dating everyone else! Cool!
Oh and Shawn, calling Planetside one of the sh*ttiest games at that time? You're on my list buddy.... one more infraction and you may get a warning....
I loved how Shawn was really embarrassed when reading studmanjnr2's name in front of the girls.

And remind the rest of us married guys how ill-integrated our wives our into our gaming hobby. I really need to find the magic Xbox 360 game that'll get Mrs Smith to play with me. PC games she liked in the past include Sentinel (old skool) and Populous (the later one on the globe where you play a shaman). I tried to get her into WOW but she couldn't get into it. Alas, I am in a raiding guild so most of my time goes there.
Seconded.

Cave in and just buy a Wii/DS..... she'll come round sooner or later - even if it's only for picross, crosswords or sudoku

We already have a Wii, but after an initial flurry of Wii Sports and Smooth Moves, it's only brought out for parties. I think she might actually have already acquired some non-videogaming based hobbies, which clearly isn't fair.

Man, reading this reminds me of how lucky I am. I'm not married(yet, a couple weeks to go), but when we did our registry, she signed off on throwing a 360 Elite, extra controller(for her) and a 37" HDTV. I love my fiancée.
That makes him my hero. Planetside was a crappy MMO. It was a mediocre FPS which doesn't even come close to redeeming it in my eyes.
Gaming with the SO: I do this from time to time with my fiancée, and it still boggles my mind. I personally would be bored to tears, but the fact that she can watch me and draw enjoyment on it amazes me. Although yea, I can watch GH all day long.
Gaming addictions: FFXI was my big one. And while I agree with Planetside being crap, SWG was outstanding. It's just a damn shame that Raph Koster bent it over and screwed it in the ass.
Yea, I can agree with the Multiplayer thing. I haven't played much since Unreal Tournament, but TF2 has sucked me in, body and soul. Unless we're counting MMOs and such.

Does that mean the wives are picked almost entirely based on the size of their racks?
PS: I'm going to send this 'cast to E Hunnie as part of my ongoing campaign to get her to play more games with me.

Great idea for an episode. I was wondering if we'd hear of a time when the SO had to stage an "intervention" on the excessive gaming habit, but alas it did not happen (or it was edited out ). Of course, I'm one to talk -- much like Rabbit, my binge gaming coincided with my first child, soon after moving to a new city. The claws of WoW sunk so deep because it was my only adult social outlet at the time. The best of times, the worst of times...
Anyway, good episode, and a nice change of pace.

It's interesting that you worry about the drums for Rock Band, because they appeal to me precisely because they're so much quieter than real drums. My drum set from high school is still in the parents' basement because I've lived "multi-unit" buildings ever since I left home. Electronic drum sets generally are also expensive and hard to find space for. This at least helps with the former.

Oh yeah. Score another one for the guitar, which you can practice on almost silently! Drummers lose again!

My solo gaming has been regulated to when my wife is not around. She works nights at a local ER 5 nights every two weeks, so it is fairly often. As for playing together we do play some Mario Party and Wii Sports once in a while, and she likes to watch me play Pikmin, and Animal Crossing for the Wii will be played by both of us.

Awesome! I cant wait to share this with the wifey =)

This is a fantastic show. My wife is not at all into gaming - not even Wii bowling or Clubhouse Games was enough to get her into it. Sometimes she'll sit and watch while I'm playing Metroid, but that's about it. It seems like the two wives are basically gamers themselves.
An interesting follow up show would be if the significant others of anyone else involved with the show that aren't into gaming make an appearance.
Great show guys!
If I were a bad demoman, I wouldn't be sitting here dicussing it with you, now would I?

As a side note, we need a artist description for the Last.fm page.

Now I don't feel as creepy for saying the same thing. Karla has such a sweet melodious voice I could listen to it all day.
Edit: Okay, I still feel a bit creepy saying it.
Certis: Quintin is both smart and attractive.
Fedaykin98: Good lord, I wouldn't have expected brilliance like that from that nemeslut Quintin Stone!
Yonder: It's weird to say this, but Quintin Stone may be the wisest person here.
Wives, eh? I like where this is going. Giggity, giggity, gig-uh-ty.
I wish you guys would stop encouraging him.

If this is the creepiest it gets in this thread, I'm counting myself lucky.
Also, Duoae: women can't be virile, that's for men only. We get to be nubile. I'm pretty sure that you wouldn't want your gf to be virile.
Nubile isn't something you get to be anymore in the classic sense of the word. You'd need some sort of participial suffix to the "nub" root. Nubbed?

So I have permission to be much more creepy? Cool!

What's a Nubian?
A collective term used for the peoples who inhabit the Nuba Mountains, in Kordofan province, Sudan, Africa.
I don't want to feel creepy so I'll just say that the wives sound very nice. Also after listening I think I'll buy my girl a DS, so if anyone knows of a game that will really get non gaming girls into it let me know.

You know, suddenly Shawn and Karla's relationship makes much more sense after that story.
I wish you guys would stop encouraging him.

Can somebody link the bio-shock mock analysis thread referenced in the 'cast? I must read it!
I'm bad at sex AND video games. So much for their "study".
You're real f*cking good at honesty though.
That would be this one right here, Jaunty.
