25% OFF on used 360 games, Gamestop!

ACT NOW, SUPPLIES ARE LIMITED!!

http://www.gamestop.com/gs/newnews/f...

Print that coupon out and take it with you. You 'll have to go to GameStop, though. Sorry.

You'll get 25% off the price of any used title for the 360. This may help justify some game purchases (i.e. Dynasty Warriors Gundam is still around the $50 price mark used), or just give you an excuse to go out and buy some stuff you've overlooked.

The coupon can be used for multiple visits, and will apply the rebate to 2 games.

If you have GameStop's reward (EDGE) card, the 10% rebate that the card bestows WILL STACK (to a total of 35%). If you haven't signed up for that yet, it's $15 for a year (comes with a subscription to GameInformer).

ALSO NOTE: GameStop is running a promo that gives you an extra 20% towards trade-ins when applies to GTA4, Mario Kart Wii, or MGS4.

ADDITIONALLY: Their policy allows you to return a game within 7 days of purchase. For something like Army of Two, it's a great way to get it, play through with a buddy, then chuck it for something you actually do want to play.

Are we not allowed to post gaming deals in the "Games" forum any more?

Just curious for next time...

Wow. It's pretty obvious who you work for, huh?

Game deals belong in the games section. Provided they aren't just from some new person pimping his/her own stuff. Then they just don't belong.

I did that, actually.

I wasn't quite sure if it was germane to the games conversation, despite it being an avenue to acquire more of these "games" for our personal research. I didn't want it JUST to inhabit EE in case it was looked over. Shadow link is pretty useful.
=)

I... don't actually have a job.

I just thought this was a pretty sweet deal, and noticed that there were a few ways to get your gaming dollar to stretch a bit further. Well, that, and I was surprised to see that the staff in the two GameSpots I visited was actually pretty helpful and amicable.

Enthusiasm and a cup of coffee are apparently the perfect formula for sounding like a shill.

Sorry.

Ah yes, corporate whoring. Why is this not locked?

Thanks for the heads up Spaz. Eternal Sonata may yet be mine at a price approaching what I can find on eBay!

Really? So we have something in common after all!

I was just messing with ya. That's why I gave you a . 25% off is a really great deal though. Unfortunately, I already own everything I want for now. But maybe I'll take a look at CoD4.

The guy is trying to be nice and pass some info on. What's up with all the hostility?

Spaz: Thanks for the heads up. I think i'll stop by tomorrow and see if anything catches my eye.

Dynasty Warriors Gundam is still around the $50 price mark

Does anyone really play those awful DW games?

I bought Guitar Hero II (for me for my birthday) and Rayman Raving Rabbids (for my son as it was Rated E) using the 25% off. Turns out Raving rabids is still a bit hard for him. I'm returning it to the store and I'm going to get something else and I'm going to try the coupon again! I also got a $25 Gamestop GC so this will make that go a bit further.

I think everyone was joking

Well, this couldn't have hit at a worse time.

Let's see, what's on my "to get" list that costs enough to make this worthwhile.

Mass Effect? Nope, just got Two Worlds.

Oblivion GOTY edition? Nope, just got Two Worlds.

Gears of War? Nope, trying to get through three different shooters right now.

Argh! What craptastic timing!

Part of me wants to use the coupon anyway and when my wife gives me that look I'll just say it was on sale and I'm stowing away yet another game for a rainy day.

That is my favorite part of gamestop's used game operation. Many people here seem to detest the store, but being able to take a game home, try it out, get frustrated, scream and punch the wall and then take the game back for a full refund has worked out pretty well for me.

Conveniently enough, I finally bought a 360 today.

Apologies if my remark was taken as hostile, it's just how he wrote it reminded me a lot of the drivel the brass at GameStop tried to make us say to everyone who walked in the store. It seemed too... formal.

Hmm... a friend of mine just bought a bunch of used 360 games there today. Wish I'd known about this then. Do ya think they'd be willing to do a refund with this if he went back in a couple days?

EDIT: Duh, helps to read the full post.

I used the coupon today to get 25% off of Eternal Sonata (Used 34.99). The clerk didn't think that the coupon was real (he seemed to think it was some sort of photoshop trickery, perhaps due to my nearly-out-of-ink printer doing some weird things to the colors in the printout.) Once he plugged it in to the system though, though, voila! Competitive with eBay!

These words don't even make sense to me. Throw Two Worlds in the garbage and play anything else. Even the developers thought it turned out poorly.

Danjo speaks truth. If that game is worth two worlds, then Oblivion is worth about 1400.

Thanks for the tip, Spaz. I used the coupon to day to pick up Gears of War and Bioshock.

What's that line that says 9.75% State? I don't know what that is, but it would make me angry if my $26.24 game didn't cost $26.24.

Looks like sales tax.

I was joking. I'm from Oregon.

I enjoyed Two Worlds Botswana, just make sure you let live patch it before you start the campaign and create your character. If it stutters that first time after patching, just drop to dashboard and restart or shutdown your 360 and then boot it back up. I never had a technical issue after. The patch is necessary for you to be able to get some of the achievements later on. (i.e. All locations visited)

I did indeed let the game patch itself. I'm going to have the surgeons detach COD4 from the me sometime this week so I can play something else. (Yes, indeed, it has been cybernetically grafted to my body)

Oregon exists? I thought it was something parents told their kids about if they didn't eat their peas.

They have humor up there?

DS, you're joking, right? You seriously aren't familiar with sales tax? Though 9.75% is ridiculous, move somewhere with reasonable sales tax.

I had a lot of fun with 4 back in college... But that was mostly because my buddy and I got a kick out of riding elephants into battle and leaving them stranded in the middle of warzones where they could die of loneliness. Man, we abandoned soooooo many elephants...

For the record, Spaz, it was your plugging the Edge card that made you look suspicious. But thanks for the coupon, I was going to swing by Gamestop today to pick up Persona 3 FES but maybe I'll have a look at their 360 games, too.

Objection! Asked and answered!
