Happy Thanksgiving to all my fellow Canadians! While the Americans slave away at their jobs we'll be eating turkey (for the second time maybe) and passing out on the couch. Why, in my stupor I might even watch the Packers game to see how much more abuse Favre and McNair can take before they fall apart. I'm not going to do a big list this week, there isn't much happening and damn you, it's a holiday! Blood Rayne 2, Tak 2, Super Power 2, Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne, Fifa 2005 and our Game of the Week Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door. What I saw at E3 looked unique and I know the first one was well liked. Reviews from various magazines have been solid but no looks from the big sites yet.

On DVD this week we have The Day After Tomorrow, Ren & Stimpy: Complete 1 & 2 Seasons, John Wayne: The Signature Collection and more!

Thanksgiving? On a Monday?! Heathens!

Around these parts we call today Columbus day.

You may have heard of him.

Really just an excuse for the government to not have to work.

Oh, and PAPER MARIO!!@!@!@12121!@!2! Go team.

Thankfully, only one release this week interests me and it is a budget title, Midway Treasures 2. Everything else is blah. I was interested in Superpower 2 until that demo hit, thankfully that talked me out of it.

I'll look for some reviews on Superpower 2, since my interest has dwindled.

I'll probably only end up making a move for Bloodrayne 2, since I still enjoyed the first one, and since the only other game that interests me is FIFA 2005 and I know that will be a dissapointment, as compared ot BR2 which might be a dissapointment.

I could never wrap my brain around why Columbus still gets a holiday. I'm with Pred and Simpilot on SuperPower 2. I wanted to play that game the way caged apes want to throw feces, but the demo turned me off. I'd have to read a REALLY good review, like "this game cured my aneurysm"-type review before I buy it.

PS- I WILL be buying FIFA for XBox if anyone cares to join me.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!

EA Sports = Evil

EA Sports Doing Soccer = Pure, Unadulterated Peversion of the Beautiful Game. Also, Evil.

Be patient, say "I can live without online play for a while" and just wait for Winning Eleven 8 to come stateside.

That is, unless you like Arcade soccer. In which case all that I said is null and void.

Paper Mario has been getting very favorable video previews from Gamespot's Greg Kasavin. I am sure I am going to buy it on the release day, but I still have to finish Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles

Did you pick up hockey? You should try that online. I could use a warmup game before my league meeting with Trip1ex tonight.

Columbus gets a holiday for discovering America and enslaving the filthy heathens. He also killed some ninjas and destroyed their spacecraft so they could not report back to their masters that the earth was ripe for the plucking. Columbus was a great man, and I am proud to be getting paid time and a half to be working on his day. So don't get all revisionist-history "I know he was bad 'cause I'm in college and people should not be getting time and a half for working on Mr. Columbus' day on me, or I will steal your other turn signal.

PS - in commemoration of this fine day, I think you should play the age of discovery turn and email it back to me.

I loved Winning Eleven 7 as much as the next guy, and I'll surely be picking up Winning Eleven 8, but I'm a sports license whore, Pred. I gotta have my team logos and player names. Got to.

I know, I know, i'm a whore for it too, and i'm desperately fighting the urge, despite the fact that I know i'll probably hate it.

I swear, if you manage to get me to toss $50 its way by posing an even midly positive review for it...
