Wow! I was curious, so I decided to go through the thread to find out, but there are 12 people here currently between the ages of 24 - 26

Also, I've noticed that the percentage of WoW players working in the tech industry seems to be much higher than in the GWJ populace as a whole. I'm not sure what that says about us exactly, but I certainly find it interesting.

I miss you too Tad, I sure wish you could come play with us again.

Daga Tad!

Who is/are your main toon(s) and what role does he/she/it/they fill?
Maxoxo currently a level 16 Gnome Warlock who is an aspiring tailor and engineer.

How did you join the guild?

One night last week I couldn't sleep and was reading these forums. I tend to avoid the WoW threads because I've kicked the addiction twice, but it looked like y'all were having a lot of fun which was inspiring seeing as how my two previous stints in the game were filled with bad guild drama and horrible PUGs.

How long have you played WoW?

August 2005-September 2006 ... January 2007-May 2007 ... March 2008 - ?

I have a retired 70 Undead Rogue on a PvP server and I have a 29 Human Warrior that was first WoW character. I'm contemplating transferring the warrior over since he's on a PvE server, twinked out, has a nice amount of gold on him, and has lots of nice tailoring and engineering mats in the bank.

Is WoW your first MMO?

No. I played UO from launch until about three months in. Then I played EQ at launch and quit after two months. I've also done stints in GW, AO, LoTRO, TR beta, and I still have two months left on my EQ2 sub. EQ2 is really fun, but I picked the wrong server and wrong class for life at end game. Not to mention the current drama with a couple of EQ2 developers forwarding raid exploits and strategies along to their guild leaders has ticked me off.

What are your current goals as far as WoW?

See how fast I can hit 70 with the post 2.3 leveling curves in place. I'd also like to run Stockades since it is the only Old World five man I haven't set foot in.

At 70 I'd like to do some occasional raiding and non-PUG instances while also causing havoc in the PvP world (BGs and Arena).

Oh and I want WoW to be fun again.

What is your real name?

Lessee.. I'm Vrikkian. Currently a level 21 gnome rogue on Blackhand, but judging by what the multiple 70s say I will probably be 30 by the end of the week. I joined the guild by sending a request to get in, and I've been playing for about two weeks. I've yet to be addicted, but I do have fun. I don't see any "goals" really, just as in I'll keep playing as long as I enjoy it.

My real name is Kelsey, I'm a junior at Salisbury University pursuing an Information Systems degree. I'm thinking about picking up a minor in English, as well as transferring to either JMU, UD, or Towson for the rest of my educational career.

My first MMO that I tried out was Anarchy Online, but the first one I actually played for more than a day was Dark Age of Camelot. Seeing as how it was done by Mythic I am going to give Warhammer Online a very good run through even if all the reviews pan it. I have to. It's just who I am.

Who is/are your main toon(s) and what role does he/she/it/they fill?
LoneKnight (Palladian) was my first toon and started out to be my Main, but due to circumstances I out leveled him with LoneSpirit (Druid). I also have AmberStone (Mage) as my main alt. I think I will go for a Rouge next; they seem to be able to kind of stand alone.

How did you join the guild?
When Troll took off to the great North and I was stuck at the five sided puzzle palace, Troll talked me into trying WoW. So for a gift to myself I got the game and took off!

How long have you played WoW?
Since September of 2006.

Is WoW your first MMO?
I have no idea on earth what MMO is. But piecing together the Intel from the thread it appears to mean human to human interactive internet computer games. If that train of thought is correct then: Yes. WoW is my First MMO.

What are your current goals as far as WoW?
Max out characters in at least four or five slots. I want to be able to log on and someone says “I need a Healer” or “I need a DPS” or “I need a Tank” and I can say “Hey, do you want me to get Xxxx?” And then be able to run an instance or PvP with them. Yea, GWJ wins again!

Any other thoughts?
It is good to see at least one traveling man in the guild.
Oh, in RL Troll’s real name is Troll. Randy is actually his nickname. Even the General and the Ambassador called him Troll.

MMORPG = Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Gaming

Like I explained in the sand-box, Lone, the fewer the people who knew my real name, the less likely a disciplinary report could follow me home.

Who is/are your main toon(s) and what role does he/she/it/they fill?
Doogiemac is my main, and only toon on Blackhand. He's a sneaky, poison-y, rogue-y gnome.

How did you join the guild?
I've been a member of the GWJ site for a while and finally decided to plop down the fee to move my one and only high level character over to Blackhand. Then I just asked around until someone invited me in!

How long have you played WoW?
I've played WoW on and off since the launch, never for too long at a time. I think I'm really "back for good" this time, though, having found my place and a good guild to hang with.

Is WoW your first MMO?
Aside from a brief stint with Dark Age of Camelot, yep.

What are your current goals as far as WoW?
Get 70 and run some instances!

What is your real name? Jeff.

My main soloing toon is Jonin (currently level 39 Shaman) I also have Mafen, level 25 Druid and I am working on my Hunter, Niell whom I only play with my boyfriend (hoping to get to 20 today )

How did you join the guild?

I know Krindle/Gloc is real life and he was very excited to hear that I had downloaded the 2 week trial disc from Southpark season 10. I had resisted the bandwagon jumping for as long as I could... then I saw the awesome-ness of WoW and was ashamed of my resistance I even got my boyfriend into it once he saw how much I was enjoying it!

How long have you played WoW?

Since November 2007 (Noob I know )

Is WoW your first MMO?

No, I played City of Villains before this. I had a Mastermind at level 47 and got bored with the repetition of the missions. I don't seem to have this issue with WoW!

What are your current goals as far as WoW?

To get to 70 lol

Who is/are your main toon(s) and what role does he/she/it/they fill?
Goquelyrslf is my main guy. He's a (currently) 26 Dranei Mage, so obviously a healer. I also have a 63 Tauren shaman on Balegun, but he was a transfer from Magtheridon.

How did you join the guild?
I've been posting for a while. I quit WoW a time or two, but decided to see how the other half lived and rolled a ally character.

How long have you played WoW?
Since patch 1.4. I would have been on sooner, but I decided to graduate first, then start obsessing over fictional gear.

Is WoW your first MMO?
Very first ever.

What are your current goals as far as WoW?
Level up to 70, run some instances, pwn some faces, escapist fun.

More thoughts:
Its still strange for me to be an ally character. At the very least I miss yelling "For the Horde" randomly.

You can still do this, but the context is slightly different...for example, as I loose an arrow, it's "for the Horde."

Who is/are your main toon(s) and what role does he/she/it/they fill?
Anathematic is my main, he's a destruction 'lock. Looking to do PVE DPS in raids.

How did you join the guild?
I followed Pawley/LesterKing and Cestlavie.

How long have you played WoW?
Beta. I didn't like it. But all my friends left DAOC, so I gave it a try. I'm still here.

Is WoW your first MMO?
No. I've played EQ, DAOC, and a few others.

What are your current goals as far as WoW?
Make some friends who have two firing neurons, do some raids and heroics, get a social network who wants to get to the new content in WotLK, but aren't going to be 80 3 days after release.

What is your real name?

Have you ever noticed that your navel collects lint? If I wear synthetics, I still manage to get lint in there. How does that happen?

How'd I miss this??

Grenn wrote:

I'm not alone! =)

Who is/are your main toon(s) and what role does he/she/it/they fill?

Pawley - Protection paladin. I enjoy protection, but I'm not married to being a tank. I also enjoy healing.

How did you join the guild?

I'm pretty sure I was a charter member way back after release, but I played on other servers with local friends most of the time.

I had just gotten into raiding pretty heavily when my guild fell apart over some drama and I ran to GWJ for refuge.

How long have you played WoW?

Since open beta.

Is WoW your first MMO?

No, I played DAoC a lot back in the day.

What are your current goals as far as WoW?

I want to get to the end game content and see everything.

What is your real name?

James or Jake - People call me all sorts of things.

Age:

27

Career/job:

I coordinate the implementation of my company's software.

Who is/are your main toon(s) and what role does he/she/it/they fill? Main - Pramatheus - Dwarven Hunter and founder of Pram-Mart Global Industries, as well as stage manager for Kong the Gorilla Killing Machine.

Alt: Promatheus - Intro Priest.

How did you join the guild? My brother and sis-in-law recruited me from Area 52 and I was allowed trial entrance by them vouching for me. After they left, I sort of hung around in the shadows and have enjoyed all the interaction I have with the guild.

How long have you played WoW? I've played WoW since open Beta, but by far have seen/accomplished more of the game since I made Pram on Blackhand.

Is WoW your first MMO? No. I have tried flavor of the month games on several occasions, but have always came back to WoW.

What are your current goals as far as WoW? To really see the game without feeling I have to rush through it and miss things. While I do want to raid with you guys sooner or later, I just think since I am paying for all of the game, I want to see it all with Pram. The other characters I may gloss things over with, but Pram will be the trailblazer for me.

Heh. They'll be something along the lines of "as an officer, how much beer will I have to buy for my sailors so that they let me live when the mutiny happens?"

It depends on the crew. Airdales are easy to win their loyalty, Spec forces get really blurry also due to the nature of the beast, but a typical sea crew can be a tricky beast. If you have a good Chief and a decent LPO you are golden because they will take pride in taking care of the Os. The first lesson I ever learned was that when a Chief spoke on job/crew matters, it wasn't just because he liked the sound of his own voice.
