Great show!
We should definitely try and do another CSS speedball night if we can get enough people together, maybe tag it on one of the HL2DM nights.

Ole - your accent isn't too bad, but you better get Sven to add the "you betcha" to the end.
Hobbitses? Hobbitses...
Settlers of Cattan - we'll see. Shivering Isles just splattered my budget into an interesting piece of post-modern art all over the wall.
Game Demos - I got out of the habit with these once I mostly went console. XboxLive has sort of brought the taste back, but there hasn't been anything I would write home to Mother about. My current candidate for King of All Demos: Feeding Frenzy. Hands down.
Franchises - Where is the love for Mechwarrior? I mean real Mechwarrior, not this namby-pamby MechAssault crap. And I'm sorry, but Red Baron kicked Crimson Skies in the arse. You people are lucky I can't Skype in 'cause I'd so bend your ears.
Email of the Week - Poor Sony. They've bitten a wooden leg and their teeth hurt.
Contest - That means no Halo Legendary either, right?

Settlers of Catan is definitely going to be a pick up for me, especially after all the positive nostalgia that's flowed as of late.
Good show as always.

I got burned on out on FPS and RTS games in high school. The "Day One" demo of Half-Life that came with a new graphics card sold me on that game. I had been ignoring it, despite all the GOTY stickers on the box, because it looked like more mindless shooting.
Also, since I was sick of mindless shooting, I gave the Thief demo a try (came with STAR WARS: Rebellion, I think) at roughly the same time as the HL demo. Those are my two favorite game series now.
There are times when I, too, just don't feel like playing games. I generally get angry and tell the girl that, though.
Worms: Yeah, that's the way to do it. It's not really that hard, besides the fact that I tend to start tapping buttons when i'm waiting for the computer to take its turn. This can lead to some bad accidents. Re self-immolation: This is why it's such a good drinking game.
Demos: Yeah, Doom was the first one that came to my mind. Hands down best. I think you got 3 levels? Everyone seemed pretty psyched about the Lost Planet demo. Remeber that? What, like, last month?
As I started thinking about demos, I also remembered the old PC Gamer and Boot demo cds, and how I used to be so hateful about non-playable demos. Coming to think of it, though, wouldn't those ad spots be good for some of the genres that might not otherwise demo well? Sort of just a long commercial format, maybe?
New contest: Maybe I'll get in under this deadline. Maybe. Commercials are a heck of a lot more work than haiku, though.
Words... are a big deal.

On demos, the first one that came to mind was Dead Rising. I must have played that demo 20 times, going through and finding all of the weapons and having fun destroying the zombie hordes. Even though the demo was really limited in location, it showed off some of the best features of the game.

I thought Dead Rising was enough for me without having to buy the game. You know, like Ms. Pac Man or Feeding Frenzy.
Which had the most engrossing design? Has to be one of the XBLA games.

If Jetpack Refueled is the Wednesday game, when's Catan out? I'm jonsin' for that puppy hardcore!
I thought it was a solid show, but you guys do seem to miss Certis : )

Whoa, wait. "Sean of War 2"? Are you missing him more than what you led on to in the Call?

There's more than one Sean/Shawn on the show. Hi.

Ahhh...Crimson Skies...*swoon*
Man, I just kill for a game that had an installer that good, or a manual. They really went all out on that one. The certainly don't make radio plays like they used to.

Hello!
Correct spellings mean nothing to me. One of you should just change his name from Sean/Shawn. Maybe to Boopsie?
Was Sean of War II intentional? Has someone been playing too much?

One is the more traditionally feminine spelling, but I won't say which. That can be his/her/hir own, "private" shame.

Good show guys.
Demos are a great way to help me pick the games I buy so your all wrong. At 65 bucks I have to read about it and then play the demo before I buy what ever "it" is for the week.
I would like to see a new Mechwarrior game also, Great pick momgamer! You beat me to it! Just as long as they stick to the core game play and don't try to speed it up like everything else these days.

Hi2u2.
About demo's. I once obtained a demo for the original Carmageddon. The German version at that, with robot's instead of people. I played the hell out of it with a friend, making the best jumps and road ki....crushes.
I don't watch, I interact!
OK, I was seriously yelling in the car at you whilst listening on the way home from work.
It was the part where you said there was plenty of games like Master of Magic around / had been made and we didnt need any more!
Decent turn based strategy games are pretty thin on the ground from my point of view. And those with separate turn based tactical combat...
Oh yeah, the PS3 was HUGELY more expensive here in the PAL regions. 60GB version was 425 pounds in the UK (= $835 US dollars). In Australia it was $1000 Aussie dollars (= $808 US dollars). I think a 60GB PS3 in the US runs to $599. So about $200 US more for a PS3 in the PAL regions
I was too. You and me, we're like twins!

We have a chef on site at my current place of employment, I know exactly what you are talking about.
Regarding Worms I'm looking for a challenge! I'm currently 5 and 0 for wins right now. I'm like the Sun Tzu of Lumbricus terrestris.

Actually Fang, it may be my fault. It doesn't look like I forwarded it to the guys and since I wasn't on the show, they didn't know. We'll get to it, I think you bring up an interesting point!
