EA's NHL 08. Who's Playing?

The old thread is a bit of a mish-mash, so let's get a proper headcount here. My brother picked up a 360 a little while ago and quickly got addicted to NHL 08. He got himself a Gold account so I went ahead and bought the game so we could play together. He lives in another city so it's nice having a way to catch up with each other.

It turns out NHL 08 is frickin' amazing. Really, really good hockey game. Anyone else playing? I don't have time for leagues these days, but a few more potential players is always nice.

I would, but team pride would require me to use the Kings, and then pride would quickly turn to shame.

KINGS GAME PLAN:
Kopitar: Score
Everyone Else: Pass to Kopitar

Silly Canuckian ass. Of course it's amazing, especially multiplayer. That's what I've been trying to tell you. Next time just cave early, m'kay?

I have it and love it, but I really suck. Instead of a league, what about getting a tournament going?

You won't find me getting into any organized play, I just can't pull it off right now.

I must have missed that post. All I've been hearing from you lately is "shaved cat" this and "shaved cat" that.

I do. I'd really like to get in some MP action because the SP has me tearing my hair out. Apparently I suck.

Darn. I returned mine as soon as I saw that no league or group play was going to happen (I'm like Pred', SP drove me crazy). I'd go pick up a used one, but the baseball bug has me now.

Same here. I had the game. Really liked it. But I sold it in part because it was impossible to get a non-pubbie game going.

I just got it along with my 360, and I just got on XBL, so you can expect to see me. SP is tough, but I've never felt a more satisfying hockey game - the added realism makes it much more satisfying than the previous iterations which were far too arcady.

I'm down for whatever multiplayer action we can come up with - Gamertag Dysplastic.

I haven't played the game since November, but I've still got it. You're all welcome to ping me for a game if you catch me on live (gamercard: ubrakto).

I have it, love it and play it almost every day.

edit: It's not *that* tough, just takes practice. I won the Cup on Superstar with Toronto in SP

I tried telling you Canuckians to make it game of the week back in the day. I used to play it online all the time. Now I play my brother in law on the weekends. Best hockey video game ever.

I bought it a week ago. A little late, I know, but Rock Band was eating my time. I'd play a game.

I have it and love it. I'm in for a game. Certis, I'll take the Wild and you can have the Jets... um...nevermind.

I have it as well. Well, more aptly, my brother bought it and I tried it once.

... if watching Hockey was this fun, I would be a Hockey fan.

Now, I'm trying to decide between the Speed Stick (or whatever it's called) and the regular controls. The one-on-one deking, for instance, is pretty DARNED hard to do the way EA wants me to.

I still am playing it once and a while, I heard there was 6 on 6 human players added now,Which I would love to try but if anyone wants to play send me an invite

im not that good of a player but I still really enjoy the game

I'd just like to say that I've stuffed and mounted Lothar and Dysplastic on my wall so far. Who else wants some hockey?

Bring it - I'd be happy to teach you how the game is played

There's no way I can not rent the game and stand up to that challenge.

Played a few games online last night. One of the guys I played had some sort of cheat going where if I won the faceoff, he'd reset the game to the last faceoff. For a while I thought it was a connection issue, but after he did it constantly for 10 minutes, I just gave up and got a DNF. Very, very annoying.

Apparently that's a known defect in the game. Hope you didn't leave negative feedback :).

Oops.

Sent an apology to the guy because I was obviously an ass about it.

Having said that, had 3 awesome games last night online. They do a really good job of matching you up with similar skill level players.

That good, huh? If there are Goodjers playing this game and you're getting games against dudes who are cool I may have to pick this up.

Well, they're mostly drunk Canadians by the time I get online to play, but they're ok.

Hey Coldie, I don't know if you got my message over Live but anyway, drop me an invite if you see me online!

Aw, HELL yeah. Gotta celebrate the Habs winning the division in style :).

I take back all my bragging earlier. If anyone wants someone who's easy to beat in online play to bump up your stats, feel free to invite me.

/Just lost 8-3 against the Penguins. I hate Crosby.

I suppose we can add Desram and Gaald to my collection now.

I have nhl 08 , always up for a game.. whomever
