Good info there, armedbushido!

I started playing Lotro again about 2 weeks ago (I was in beta but never subscribed). I'm playing it very casually and exploring every corner of the maps and I'm having a lot of fun! No pressure! The storyline keeps me interested in keep playing and the world is so full of detail.

Landroval - Lore-Master - Igrainne (lvl 24)

We need to link up this weekend and try too knock out some of Book 2... Have you done any monster play?

Hey cool! I just started playing a couple weeks ago myself! I joined Eldain a Firmoin as they've got a handful of Goodjers in there. I'm a level 20 Hobbit burglar - Martam. I'm on the first part of Book 2. Look me up!

Hey, I'm also just starting Book 2, we could meet up and do some of that.

And a big *group hug* to Eldain a Firmoin people!

My captain turned lvl40 last night. I can now make players kneel before me. Doesn't seem to serve a purpose, but kinda cool. I'm on Books 4 and 5, but don't mind helping you guys with the earlier books if you need.

I picked up the game a little while back after having played the open beta just before launch. But like everyone else, I was too wrapped up in WoW at that point to really give the game a fair chance.

I've been playing when time permits (read: when I'm not playing 360 or SSBB) and have to say, I've really been enjoying myself.

I checked here before making my character so I'm on Landroval as well. Since I haven't been playing very hard my character is still low, but if there's anyone in my range I'd be glad to hang out and shoot arrows at things alongside you.

Landroval - Aeoni - 11 hunter

Oh, I tried monster play... I really prefer to call it, "Walk 10 feet and die mode"

Kill sorry I missed you Friday night - just hard for me to sit down and get rolling until kids goto sleep...

Darth you on Landroval?

Hey, no problem. I was not able to play this weekend, actually. I had birthday parties, family visiting us and shopping on my list of things the past couple days, so I didn't get any Lotro time.

I joined up again as well, after an earlier abortive attempt where I just didn't consider the fact that I had no time for personal pursuits. Fortunately, things are better now. =)

I'm on Landroval as well. Currently lvl 11 captain: Fianait

Necro, I hear ya. I thought I wouldn't have the time to play LoTRO at all. Now I find that I'm playing almost as much as I played WoW (Which was all-together too time consuming!). The difference is, I'm enjoying playing LoTRO. I'm currently a 46 hunter, a character I picked because I asked on these boards a recommendation of what was the closest to a WoW mage. I've not once had to grind as no matter what I've been doing it has been working toward a deed or something else that is fun to do.

More of a blanket statement than geared toward newbie help, but if anyone wants some assistance, I will provide what little I can give. My name is Huntspex. I play on Brandywine.

Links that have helped me out so far:

www.mehq.net (great interactive map)
http://lotro.allakhazam.com/ (good for quest help)
http://www.thebrasse.com/maps/lotro-... (Once you start questing in the Old Forest you'll realize how important this little picture can be!)
http://www.thebrasse.com/lotro/horse... (Horse/Stable Routes)
http://www.lotro.mmodb.com/ (Decent for quests, better for a "What is this?" lookup when you get a new item)

Yeah, I've been having a ton of fun as well, though I know I'm still in the "honeymoon" period.

I'm really enjoying the slightly more robust crafting system and the seemingly more mature userbase. Also, logged in for the first time to Monster Play last night, and had a good time questing around as a warg. I'm sure I'll get smeared all over the landscape when I actually run into some Free Peoples, but it does at least seem like an interesting take on PvP.

I'm no longer lvl 11... My hunter is now 19 for anyone in that range looking to knock out some quests.
Aeoni - 19 - Hunter - Landroval

I'm back too. Just got VISTA on my MBP and now I'll download the game.

I think you will be getting Kinship invite soon - thought I seen a post today on your app...

That is awesome, wish you where on Landroval!!!

I really enjoy LOTRO - more than I ever did WoW. Not sure what is was but I could not get attached to it. I guess I want more from my MMO than just loot items...

I logged on tonight and there is no one left in the old guild.

Where did you all go?!?!

Most of the former GWJ went to Eldain a Firimoin - http://www.eldain.com

Yeah I am. I saw you on a couple of times, but it was usually when I was getting dragged into some fool quest. If you're all around on Friday I should be on. My main is Sumir lvl 41 Captain. My Creeps are Potluk and Ginzburg.

Darth adding you to my friends list, we are close in level - I will hit 38 today...

Yea, Emyn Ien went kaput a few months ago, within a few weeks of launch, as it were.

I'm thinking once I get the money in the next little while I'll be subscribing, having enjoyed playing the trial more than WoW so far.

My characters name is Tradric and he's a level 18 tank.

LOTRO is my first MMO experience, and I'm enjoying the hell out of it so far. I've avoided MMOs because I'm vulnerable to obsessive time-sinks and my gaming time is limited, but I've been playing w/ Fripper and really, really enjoying it.

Hard to say what the real draw is. I think it is the stat-based combat as contrasted w/ the twitch-centric combat in games like oblivion or the Witcher. Anyway, it is scratching my RPG itch in a very satisfying way.

Plus, I get to play hobbits. I find role playing a pudgy fellow who'd rather eat a good meal and have a few rounds at the pub than slay a dragon or rescue a maiden to be very appealing.

Unfortunatly, I didn't start out reading this thread, so my characters are on Vilya. But the next time I feel the urge to reroll a new character, I'll do it in Landroval.

Blutarsko : Hobbit Burglar : Lvl 15ish
Sabinerose : Hobbit Hunter (f) : Lvl 10ish

Greetings to all LOTRO GWJers!!

I am reupping my sub and will be looking for you all in Middle Earth. While most of my previous play was on Firefoot I am gonna bounce over to Landroval and start leveling up a new character. Hope to see you all soon!

I just resubbed and rolled up a Minstrel on Landroval. I'm currently only level 6, but hit me up if you'd like to group. Character name: Sangorin. I also have a 22ish LM on Landroval that I may dust off and play named Luscious.

If anyone around level 20 wants to group, give Tradric a tell in game. I am having a hell of a time advancing my character...

One thing at level 20 to keep in mind is location. Leave the Lone Lands (which I think is the least interesting area of the game) and head to the North Downs via Trestlebridge.

Agreed - even though I did the Lone Lands and added a ton of quests, it was bland...

Send a tell in game too Quelsar I will come and help if I am free!

Just to add to this basically your quest log should have a ton of solo quests that are level appropriate. If you run out more then likely you need to move to another area.

Does anyone know if they still have a Founder's referral program going on? I read that if you get a referral from someone, that you can either buy a lifetime subscription or pay 9.99 / month. Was this only when it first came out?
