WHAT?!

Seriously how could you describe that as just OK. Morris Day deserves way more than just a two letter description

I'm having a wretched day, and I just dug out the ultimate weapons. The soundtrack to "Top Gun" and Beethoven's 9th. I am currently headed right into the dangerzone.

Then I remembered this thread.

Yoinked for awesomeness.

All right, I'm bringing the thread back to life again. I don't know if many of you have heard the song Warm Leatherette by The Normal (unless you listen to Adam Carolla's radio show) but Nine Inch Nails does a great cover of the song and I really like it.

Hmm sounds cool.. the video connection here is a bit.. flaky right now, but it sounds good!

Refreshing this thread, like some sort of voodoo necromancy..

As I listen to my ultimate guilty pleasure > Electric Light Orchestra < ,or as the hip kids say 'ELO'

That's almost as impressive as reanimating the first thread, which probably would have be appropriate, given the new look and all....

The Arrogant Worms... guilty pleasure indeed.

The Breakfast Club soundtrack.

Especially Fire in the Twilight by Wang Chung.

God, why am I posting this?

At the moment, I'm listening to Highlander radio, which plays mostly Scottish/Irish/Celtic folk music. My wife says I'm weird for liking the stuff, but it just fits so perfectly with my tastes.

The only song I can think that I like that people seem to hate would Partical Man by They Might Be Giants. It's just kinda weird, and catchy. I remember hearing it a couple weeks back on a radio show, that was doing a "Song that got played a lot at first, before people hated it" type contest. I tried calling in, but was unfortunately a bit too late. The next day they did Safety Dance, and I decided I'd rather not be known for knowing it. Oh crap.

Those guys are awesome.

Since I've never seen this thread before, I'll bite.

My collection defies categorization other than "pure chaos". I own the Star Wars boxed set and all of it's John Williams goodness. I also own the life works of Scott Joplin. I love rockabilly music. I love grunge and 80's hair bands. Zydeco always makes me want to dance (which is what it's for). Etc. etc. etc. . .

But that's not what you want to know. You demand those deep, dark indulgences. The ones that make my friends who know my collection say, "Huh?" The ones that make people double take. The ones that make mothers cross the street with their children to get away from the scary man. I place two offerings upon the altar in the hopes of appeasing the overlords.

The first is the 30th Anniversary Bond Limited Edition. Tom Jones on Thunderball and Tina Turner on Goldeneye MUST be sung along to. Nay, they must be crooned into the heavens at full volume (and I am loud).

The other is Still, by the Geto Boys. I can't stand gangster rap, but I love that track. No, it's not just because that printer gave its life for it.

I spent half an hour before work this morning playing along with Reel Big Fish (iPod plugged into the brain for my electric drum set). I probably should have taken a shower again afterwards.

Abba's Waterloo is currently evil.. but so catchy!

Sample:

My my, at waterloo napoleon did surrender
Oh yeah, and I have met my destiny in quite a similar way
The history book on the shelf
Is always repeating itself

Waterloo - I was defeated, you won the war
Waterloo - promise to love you for ever more
Waterloo - couldnt escape if I wanted to
Waterloo - knowing my fate is to be with you
Waterloo - finally facing my waterloo
