A new game from Ubisoft Montreal and some of the people behind FarCry 3 hits this week, but if you hadn't already been paying attention, then it's not going to be quite what you expect.
I have to admit, Child of Light almost passed me by without notice. It just doesn't carry the trappings of my typical gaming obsession, and it's possible some of you may be surprised that I'm pretty hyped for a fairy-tale, tactical RPG, but watch this trailer and tell me you don't want to play this game — Right. Now.
Early reviews and previews seem fairly hyped on the co-op, where one player is the main character and the other is her companion light, which sounds suspiciously like the way co-op is implemented in the Mario Galaxies games, but apparently is much deeper. This is one of those games I instantly imagine playing with my boys, and I can't wait to give it a try.
Also this week The Amazing Spider-Man 2 shows up on everything, and the 3DS lands a new Mario Golf and Gardening Mama 2.

Wait..is it this game
(I believe it's the same)
that's telling it's tale via prose?
I'm loving it's look
like a real storybook
but with Uplay we'll see how it goes.

Child of Light looks potentially good, but because it requires Uplay, it will have to receive really good reviews/praise before I consider getting it.

I'm looking forward to playing Child of Light in co-op on the Wii U. I should look up what control options are for two players.
Professionally offended. Does not understand jokes. Needs a man to explain them to me.
I may be the only one interested in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle. My buddy was a huge JoJo fan and even though I never read past, say, book 1, I tried out the demo and enjoyed it enough to want to give it a go.
But, game buying ban is still on. Will get, eventually. Maybe.
How did I live before digital distribution of old, cheap games?

If I didn't already have tons to play, I'd be getting Child of Light this week, and perhaps Kirby Triple Deluxe as well.
Now Playing: Super Mario Odyssey
Sadly, it sounds like Daylight is a bit of a flop, going by Patrick over at GB and Joystiq.

For once, I agree with the pick. It's the only game this week that I preordered (From PS4's PSN store.)
The only other stuff I'm getting this week are a bunch of games that are on sale.
As for UPlay, I'm hoping they won't require me to login to it on PS4.
Oh man, Child of Light looks cool. I just ordered Mario Golf from Amazon after flipflopping all weekend, but after watching that trailer I'm wondering if I should go for Child of Light instead.
I guess I have until Amazon ships my order to decide.
If I get it, that'll be the platform.

Unsurprisingly, that's my feeling as well. Both games are getting good reviews but neither feels like something I need to play right this minute.
I have tons to play but I will still be getting Child of Light this week. It looks great and isn't another 50-60 hour RPG on my pile.
Ditto! I'm looking forward to Child of Light as well, although like the others, Uplay might keep me from getting it. I've heard about the game a couple of months ago and was completely stoked but the Uplay bit is quite a downer.
What's the estimated length for this game? Just wondering. I haven't even finished The Stick of Truth yet, which is only 15 hours!
I looked up a video for Daylight, some guy was playing it and narrating,
f*ck no
The art is really nice on Child of Light, and I really dig the wait/cast bar at the bottom.
