There had never been a chance that my Game of the Week this week was going to be anything besides Rocksmith 2014. I know Batman: Arkham Origins is probably a bigger deal to a greater number of people, but for me this year has been entirely about a handful of titles, and Rocksmith is one of them. From the moment I saw the panoply of improvements planned for the game, I was in love.
I'll have my full review of Rocksmith 2014 up bright and early tomorrow morning once the embargo lifts, but I think you can read a lot into the fact that I've got a couple dozen hours into the thing and I'm still as enthusiastic as ever to make it the game of the week.
Also this week, Path of Exile for the PC, the alternative many people found to their disappointment in Diablo 3, finally makes an official release. PoE, as it has been lovingly termed, is a somewhat dark but largely strong third-person action RPG, and it has developed a reasonable and loyal following during its beta testing.
Add to all that a new Phoenix Wright game on the 3DS and LEGO Marvel Super Heroes into the mix, and you have yourself a pretty appealing list of games to play this week.

I have Human Revolution all ready for another playthrough soon as the DLC drops, and I've been replaying Arkham Asylum, so Batman's Arkham Oranges (filled with righteous juice-tice?) is just what I'm in the mood for right now.
Eldrich looks pretty cool as well.
The LEGO game is going to have to wait till I finish 100%'ing the last one though (LOTR) and that'll take a while since I just restarted on Steam instead of 360.
inactive here until further notice.
Ooh, I need a stupid purchase and Rocksmith + guitar would fit that bill nicely...
Professional Internet. We probably met during my awkward period.

Professionally offended. Does not understand jokes. Needs a man to explain them to me.
I hope LEGO Marvel is good as I've had my eye on it. Somehow have never played a LEGO game before.
And with Batman: Arkham Origins being done by another studio, I hope Rocksteady is working on a next-gen Justice League game. Would be so much fun to zip around as Flash.

This is my week from financial Hell. I already have Hometown Story and Arkham Origins pre-ordered, but I forgot the new Phoenix Wright was also this week. I'm so glad November and December are both mostly empty of games I want to play.
I'm keeping my expectations for Origins tempered, though. Paul Dini isn't on the writing staff, instead going for the lead writer of the Assassin's Creed games (and his partner for the later Prince of Persia games). I look at it as filler until the next Rocksteady developed Batman, assuming Rocksteady is working on another (which, considering two sidequests in City hint at an interesting third campaign, I'm hoping happens).

Quite the pile for me:
Batman: Arkham Origins; Eldritch; How to Survive - added (along with The Stanley Parable)
Path of Exile; LEGO Marvel Super Heroes - on deck, waiting for Steam to get a grip and let me buy them.
I'm not ready for Rocksmith yet - just started the Sax - but I don't know how long I can wait seeing as Guitar Hero got me into the piano...

This week I'll be playing games on my new 3DS XL

Arkham Origins looks like the only one interesting enough to consider this time around.
Now Playing: Crimson Shroud, Blood of Bahamut, SMT IV, RDR, SBCG4AP, Octopath Traveler, The Baconing, The Legend of Dragoon.

Is it too soon to give Rocksmith 2014 GotY status? Well too bad. GOTY!
I don't feel disadvantaged with the stick I've got.
When I mentioned Rocksmith to my wife she told me that if I were to do it, I'd have to get an acoustic guitar as that's the only kind she's interested in playing. =8-O
Danger! Danger!

Sweet! We'll have to get together and have jam sessions!
Some interesting under the radar stuff this week. How to Survive and Ethan, Meteor Hunter look kind of intriguing, and Eldritch and Defense Technica could conceivably spin some people the right way.

Phoenix Wright is what the $30 SMTIV/FE:A money is going towards.
Also thinking about picking up Hometown Story, which is another life simulation style game from the creator of Harvest Moon.
Buncha fun haters around here...

I just played through the Phoenix Wright demo - f'in awesome. Definitely going to pick it up at some point, when I need a break from SMT.

LEGO Marvel has me interested. But I've never paid more than $20 for the previous LEGO Games (Batman x 2, Harry Potter x 2, Star Wars x 2, LotR). Probably since the first two SW ones, I've got the others even cheaper, at $10 or less.
Skipped Indiana Jones for reasons I can't remember right now... probably something to do with 4th movie.
They just naturally feel like budget titles to start with. The games are fun, but not deep. And over in the LEGO Batman thread I ranted a bit about some level-breaking bugs my wife and I stumbled upon when playing it. If I'd spent more than $10 on it I'd have been a little more upset. So again I'll be waiting for a nice sale on this one.
Batman looks good, but the pile demands I wait a little bit.

One of us! One of us!
Speaking of LEGO Marvel, it just released on Steam at 1pm. 10% off this first week, and the PC version is only priced at $30 to start.
