WoW BHA - Exec mtg Mon Jan 14 @ 7 Server

Looks like next time I post a meeting reminder, I need to start a thread for people to toss in their 2 cents at the same time...

Yup, no worries, it's good to bring stuff up and discuss possibilities of change.

Two cents isn't much ... but it is still two cents ... ... If two cents is not wanted, please send them to Tychicus: he is a money making machine.

GREAT idea Luna. This at gives the guild a chance to at least get some other ideas on the table. Some really great ideas are never seen except by 1.

Just an FYI, I will be in Alaska next week. I should hopefully have internet whatever hotel I stay in though. Alaska is -3 hours to server though.

Unfortunately, I may not be able to attend this evening. Even if I do. I will probably only have about a half an hour to participate.

*IF* I can make it, I think we can pare these topics down significantly that a half an hour will suffice.

If not, oh well. In any case, I will post shortly an alternate date and time for a follow on meeting.

Edit: I just realized this message is probably a bit short and terse. I apologize. I have a pressing, stressful R/L matter that may or may not coincide with our meeting.

The things that we are on the hook for aren't going to be done in 30 minutes. If we're going to talk about one topic tonight, I believe that it needs to be the Election discussion. We have guild members who have been promised progress on this subject and we need to deliver. I seriously doubt we can finish this topic, but we could make progress.

Alternately I would support putting in place a follow up meeting and finalizing the agenda.

Is there anyway we can prioritze the stuff that we need Reap around for discussion on? I don't think he needs to be there for the Election discussion, other than to agree with how we're going to do it. After that, we can point out the concensus, and he can do the promotions when he's available to do so. I don't think we need alot of time, or hopefully shouldn't. Either that, or is it possible for Reap to appoint a speaker on his behalf for certain topics that can be covered afterwards?

I'd say Reap definitely needs to be around for the Election discussion (Topic 1). As far as I know we haven't talked about how, when, voting criteria, length of terms, the power/responsibilities of the person/people elected, etc. In short, I think there are too many open questions for this discussion to happen without Reap.

Topic 2 (Guild Bank) stems from a discussion Reap started, so my assumption is that he'll want to participate.

Topic 3 (Structure/control of Guild Raid sign ups) could probably be done without him, this is more of an adminstrative discussion.

Topic 4 (Guild Couples & Raid sign ups) could possibly be done without him, although I believe that Sigsbee may also be missing tonight and as part of a Guild Couple, if she's not able to participate may leave out some points that need to be discussed. I'd like to see this tabled until next time.

Topic 5 (Guild vs non-Guild participation in GWJ Alliance Raids), depends partly on the outcome of Topic 4 and I'd like to see as many Execs participate in this discussion as possible. I know at least 2 (Vilius/Mayfield & Sigsbee) will be missing and possibly Reap. I'd like to see this tabled until Topic 4 can be addressed and we have more time.

My 2 coppers worth.

Reap made it obvious that he has some RL stress to deal with. I can only imagine that discussing elections without him will add to that stress. So instead, I suggest we either focus on the less pressing issues (couples runs, loot rules, GWJ coffee, etc.) or reschedule the meeting for a more convenient date.

*EDIT*
Once again, Luna beat me to the post.

Good points there Luna. I know some of the raiding discussion was pending on this last week and how well our current system was working. I think we faired well with killing HKM and all. More or less, I think Topic 3 is now becoming more of a grievances discussion, what problems do we have, how can they be fixed. Everything else, I think you are totally right on with.

Would you say that's fairly accurate Reap?

I am available for the meeting tonight if we still have it.

Sigsbee wrote:

With Sigsbee available, I think we can safely cover the last 3 topics:

If Reap is available we can set the ground work for the Election discussion, otherwise I think it will need to wait.

So definitely some importance to starting the meeting on time tonight then it seems

If our purpose is to add less stress overall, then why are we stressing about any of this I think we need to table the meeting until the GL can be there. Nothing good comes of talking without him, and many of the officers also do not like to be excluded. This was a problem you guys slammed me on before, why is it not an problem now? We are a guild of adults playing a game, we can be patient and wait until everyone can be at the meeting and it should be rescheduled.

I'd be okay with shelving it for another week if we wanted. I know my focus tonight is helping Neviril finish his Kara key in SV and BM, and I'm pretty sure a group of people would like to head into Kara and take out Netherspite.

If moving to next week means more people are available, then I am all for postponing till next week.

The situation in question has been mostly defused, so I'm back on for tonight.

Meeting results seperated by topic...

If a player has one toon that is already of GWJ Member status, then all follow on alts can be a member w/o spending time as a Fairy Princess. Just mention it to an Exec if you would like to go straight to GWJ Member status.

All new GWJ Alliance guild members must go through at least 4 weeks as a Fairy Princess prior to being given GWJ Member status.

ELECTION Update wrote:

Council will consist of 6 people + the CEO

  • CEO (appointed by the previous CEO & confirmed by Certis/Elysium)
  • Head CFO (appointed by Executives)
  • Raid Leader (appointed by Executives)
  • At Large (elected) – Person must be over 18 & a GWJ Member status
  • 3 Execs (elected) – Person must be an Executive or CFO status

Working Executive meeting to continue planning the election (edit-01/27/08) during the February Officers' meeting.

Tentative plans:

  • Council will be focused on making policy decisions.
  • One week of nominations for the At Large post.
  • One week of nominations for the 3 rotating Executive posts.
  • Criteria for voting - GWJ Member status & GWJ Forum membership
  • At Large position does not confer Executive status within the guild, but will give the individual access to Officer chat for the duration of their term.

Things yet to be discussed

  • Term duration/limits
  • Exact timeframe for election
  • Finalizing the method by which the vote will happen.
GUILD BANK Information wrote:
  • Functioning as intended by the GWJ Alliance leadership
  • Fairy Princess may only deposit into the bank, but may request items of CEO, CFO or Executive. All requests are subject to review.
  • GWJ Members have withdraw access on 2 of the Guild Bank tabs. This access allows 2 withdraw actions per day on each tab. The tab names indicate which tabs these are. Counting from the top down, the second & fourth tabs have this access.
  • There are 2 tabs where only the CFOs & CEO can withdraw items (CFO Access & Rare Stuff). Counting from the top down, the third and fifth tabs have this access.
  • Executives, CFOs & the CEO have withdraw access on the first tab.
RAID Control Announcements wrote:

Krindle/Zablocki19 is the Raid Leader
Vilius/Mayfield is the Jr. Raid Leader

Only Krindle or Vilius may post GWJ Alliance Guild Raid sign-ups unless otherwise identified by Shanker/Reaper81.

Note - Anyone may post asking for interest in other types of runs.

RAIDs & Couples Information wrote:

It is the responsibility of each couple to make any running restrictions known to the Raid Leader on a week by week basis.

GUILD RAIDs & Non-Guild people Information wrote:
  • Non-Guild person do not get schedule priority over guild members of the same raiding role. If scheduling cannot accomidate Guild members as prioity over non-guild, the Guild Raid will be cancelled rather than run.
  • It is the Raid Leader's responsibility to make known ahead of time what the loot expectations are for the run. (Example: If Maiden's Mace drops & a guild member who REALLY needs the item is running, a PUG priest would not get to roll off to get the mace.)
  • Unless defined ahead of time, PUG raiders are to be treated as equal to GWJ guildies for the purpose of loot.
LOOT RULE Updates wrote:

No changes to 5 person instances

RAID LOOT
General Raid Loot Priority has been modified to give slight priority to guild members of GWJ Member status or higher. Final say still goes to the Loot Master. For the duration of their 4 week probationary Fairy Princess term, members with this status will be given second priority on loot drop upgrades.

The new loot priority is:
Main Spec > Fairy Princess > Off Spec > DE

25 Raid Loot Drops

  • Loot Priority is in effect
  • 1 purple per week until future notice (per person, not per toon)
  • 1 week is considered within the last 7 days
  • Loot priority is in effect. (ie where none of the participants can use a drop for their Main Spec, the next group with priority consist of Fairy Princess of the applicable Main Spec).
  • The Loot Master has the final say in distribution of all loot.

Just a reminder that the follow up meeting to further discuss the election mechanics is tonight at 7pm server.

Not sure if I can make it, will try, but been spending way too much time on WoW lately, and plus I have 3 or 4 nights of raiding this week, and wife aggro might get a little high. Might just take tonight/tomorrow night off.

I'm just going to go ahead and cancel the meeting this week. I've received several PM's indicating meeting fatigue and taking a break sounds like a good idea. Let's do some more research on voting methods and meet two weeks from now on the 4th.

Sadly (or not), on the 4th, I'll be forced to endure a 5-star hotel in French Quebec, forcing down fine red wines and rich Frog cuisine. Oh the humanity of it.

But I'm sure that reading Luna's minutes will make it seem like I was there with you...and not surrounded by the 75% female population of Bagotville, where every woman looks like a super model.

Dude....I am SO SORRY!!!
(Note: Speaking as an Albertan, you gotta understand that not only is there an East vs. West tension, but also a Canada vs. Quebec tension, I don't know of anyone that actually goes there other then because their SO wants to go shopping...)

EDIT: I'd gotta say, I'm relieved that we're postponing this meeting though, I could definitely use the breather before this hectic week starts up.

I went to the winter carnival in Quebec the year after I finished college. A finer display of public drunkeness I've never seen. I remember going to a parade that started at 9pm. We left at 3am and the parade was still going on. It was also about 15 below zero.

Yeah, still just a snowman...

I was very relieved to see this meeting postponed; barring something being on fire, we shouldn't need more than one meeting every month or two, imho, and certainly not two weeks in a row. Kaylee misses me, ya know?

Would be a good idea. I plan to have Logan sit in for me when I am on my honeymoon.

Well that's kinda boring. From now on I'll refer to him as a homocidal snowman who went on an anti-American killing spree.
