If you're in the mood for non-traditional Dungeons & Dragons gaming, then I've got a release list you just may like. First, the Free-to-Play Neverwinter MMO that has been chugging along in open beta on the PC since April exits out of its beta phase this week along with the release of new high level content. For those already playing Neverwinter, the official transition to full release does not include any kind of character wipe, so for many it may just seem like another day on the Sword Coast.

If PC MMOs do not tickle your fancy, but nearly twenty-year-old brawlers do, then consider Chronicles of Mystara, a collection of Capcom's 1990's D&D games Tower of Doom and Shadow Over Mystara. Not seen on consoles since the Sega Saturn, the 4-person co-op button-masher is D&D primarily in name.

Beyond that, there's not much. If your cup of tea is playing ridiculous microgames, or for that matter anything new at all on the Wii U, you might consider Game & Wario.

Comments

D&D: Shadow Over Mystara is one of my favorite brawlers. So glad to see it getting a new release.

New Super Luigi U was robbed!

And I'm also excited for the D&D beat-em-ups. Good week to spend money on digital titles while working on my Animal Crossing town.

Epic Mickey 2 is also coming out for Vita this week, I think

I spent like $30 on these DnD games in our student union in college...$15 is a deal! haha.

Beyond that there's not much.

I played through the Beta (first Act) of Magrunner twice in a row and it's left me itching to get my hand on the rest of it - that would definitely be my pick of the week!

Portal + Cyberpunk + Cthulhu Mythos = Take all of my money!

(Warning : This probably spoils a little TOO much for my tastes. If the above sentence is in any way intriguing I would suggest skipping the trailer and going in cold...otherwise)...

Gamestop says Muramasa Rebirth is coming out the 21st instead of next week. Huh.

I'll be buying the Chronicles of Mystara first day:) Probably on the Xbox though.

Interesting. The Amitabha version still says 6/25 though. Amazon has 6/25 for both.

This week, I might get Jak and Daxter from that list.

Hexodius? Maybe.

I like what I saw in that trailer! I also notice the XBL and 360 logos, what's the ETA for release on that platform?

Also, Xcom for iOS comes out this Thursday as well.

The PSNStores list just came out, and there's actually 2 more games for PSN not on this list.

PS3: Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams
PSVita: Disney Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two

There's also the PSN re-release of Eat Lead: The Return of Matt Hazard.

Also, a couple of PS2 classics, though I'm not sure if Classic is the right word for them.
Castlevania: Lament of Innocence
Corvette Evolution GT

Nothing much for me here, really. Those Mystara games may see some co-op love from me in the future, and the Neverwinter MOO makes me curious, but I think I will stay on the fence there for some time still.
