Come back to Houston, Tador!

Upsadiasy for the new folks and we need to add a guild policy as decided on by the officers....

When in a guild outing be it raid or 5 man and the primal nether drops, only the crafter who can use it may roll greed. All others roll pass please. The primal nether drop is a BOP. We have made this rule in an effort to be fair to all the crafters.

How about those (of us) that can use a nether, but don't have a pressing need? For instance, I can make a Khorium gun (very nice for Tanks) that would help our tanks, but there's not a heavy need for them?

That's what the greed is about Troll. All the crafters that can use it at all, greed. If a crafter has a pressing need for it, like actively saving nethers for item X, they can talk to the other crafters about rolling need. People that cannot use them at all should pass.

With the amount of Heroics we are running now, nethers will be dropping more frequently. Even before the run starts, we can usually get a good idea on where the nethers would be utilized to the better of the guild. We have never had any issues at all with nethers in any run i have ever been on, but they will be dropping more often then before. We just have to use our heads. I am in the process of equipping leg armor kits to any guildie who requests them. The epic ones do take a nether and usually have a going list together on needs for those who have gotten a quality set of legs to put them on. Also can make the new ammo/quivers pouches...24 slot bags which also take a nether.

I'd like me one of dem new-fangled buckshot pouches.

In my experience, there are two types of uses for Primal Nethers (as well Nether Vortex in higher 25mans):

1. Consumable items that really are the best of its kind, such as the leg spellthread and leather armor kits. When you have a Kara or higher leg armor, you really want the best item to add to it, and a Primal Nether is required to make it, but you're likely only going to need 1 to make it. Generally, Tailors and Leatherworkers make these (ammo pouches I'd include in this category).

2. One shot use to make an item that is most likely an extremely good upgrade, usually a weapon or piece of armor. Usually you'll need anywhere between 1 & 10, and Blacksmiths, Tailors, Leatherworkers and Engineers all have this capability.

However, I agree with the Greeding if you can use, pass if you cannot. If you need one more to make an item in scenerio #2, just talk to the group, guildies are very understanding

Crazy, I'd love a Nethercleft Leg Armor if you're taking requests - those are the 40 Stam ones, right?

Happy to plan a Heroic with you if you need Nethers.

No problem guys.....I had one request tonight from Salire for his new pants for an armor kit. Then troll for his ammo bag and Fed....just make sure you have a set of pants...ie high-end..that are worth the kit..hell, I didn't even have one on my pants yet because of the junk I use now...Beast Lord Leggings.

Yeah, I have the 30 STA ones on my current legs, but all the upgrades from here on are purple and would justify the 40 kit.

If you need to run some heroics for nethers, I'm you're huckleberry.

No problem....just have to find the time now for heroics. This is almost like a part-time job...

At least the minimum wage here is paid in gold.

Even if the taxes (repair bills) can be killer...

Crazy, isn't it time to update your "location" tag, switching out Shermie for Squirt?

It's like owning 2 cars....

1) The fast sleek and speedy one...
2) Or the car you are really comfortable in and can't see ever getting rid of....take out for a spin every now and then.

Shermy will never go away..only in short-term storage.

Bump for the new folks

LOOT RULE Updates from January 14 Executives Meeting

Link to full meeting notes -> Jan 14, 2008 meeting

No changes to 5 person instances

RAID LOOT
General Raid Loot Priority has been modified to give slight priority to guild members of GWJ Member status or higher. Final say still goes to the Loot Master. For the duration of their 4 week probationary Fairy Princess term, members with this status will be given second priority on loot drop upgrades.

The new loot priority is:
Main Spec > Fairy Princess > Off Spec > DE

25 Raid Loot Drops

  • Loot Priority is in effect
  • 1 purple per week until future notice (per person, not per toon)
  • 1 week is considered within the last 7 days
  • Loot priority is in effect. (ie where none of the participants can use a drop for their Main Spec, the next group with priority consist of Fairy Princess of the applicable Main Spec).
  • The Loot Master has the final say in distribution of all loot.

Upsadaisy for new guild members.

Just for curiosity, want me to slap this in the MMO info sticky?

I think it is a great post to be linked to in that sticky.

Just wanting an updated clarification: has this since changed to be 1 purple main spec upgrade per week, rather than 1 purple per week, now? The comments (and loot ruling) in the raidt today made this claim, but I was under the impression that offspec purples still counted as part of our "1 per" general rule on who gets to roll for contended items (I passed on rolling for one or two offspec items due to this).

You guys know me well enough by now to know I'm more concerned about clarity and consistency in loot rules rather than a "gimme the epicz!!!" attitude. I just want everyone going in to be making their decisions based upon a mutual understanding of our guidelines. It really applies more to the 25-person raids than the 10-person ones, as those are typically small enough affairs that there's not much contention for drops in general. (most of my offspec gear has come from drops in 10-person raids where the gear was passed on by mainspecs)

IMO, we should be changing our rules for level 80 raiding here in the next month or two. We've got a really messed up system that'd I'd like to see fade away.

We've been at this long enough that I can confidently trust you guys to come up with a fair system. All I want is to make sure everyone's on the same footing with what the guidelines are so that we can all make informed decisions and minimize in-raid debating.

We'll also want to find a way to clarify what gear counts for what specs with how many stats have been consolidated (crit, hit, and spellpower being key examples) making gear useful for more than an item's originally intended spec. The stave yesterday being one example of an item that was once intended for healers but may now be more of a general caster item (Thurg can't use staves so I had no self-interest in that item's discussion).
