AR12 - The Catch All Thread

I'm a little late to post but 5 of the folks in the race are from the OC.

The race premiers tonight at 8p on CBS. Check your local listings.

The web site for the new race can be found here.

Oh, I thought you meant the show. Not that it would sweeten the deal or anything.

Eh, we already had the best folks to represent the OC win the thing back in Season 5, plus none of those three teams screams "Winner" to me at the moment. I'm not beholden to them yet.

Okay, I actually like the Goth kids a lot more than I thought I would. However, I wouldn't qualify them both as just Goth. Vyksin (the girl) is a Goth furry (was she wearing kitty ears at some point during the episode, or did I imagine that?), and he's a Goth drag queen (the guy shaved his eyebrows off!). However, I still like them a lot more than my first impression would have allowed.

Staella and Ari: Wow...guess they aren't dating.

Volleyball coach and generic blond chick girlfriend: Just break up and be done with it, you two. Sheesh. Besides, this is a game show, not a relationship tester.

The N.O. engineer brother and sister (I'll get their names eventually): Wow, weren't they in last place at one point? Good recovery.

I love that the "hot blonde team" is the least attractive set of people on the show. I really like the Goths, and the new Hippies, and Brunette Sisters. I love the two Engineers - but I have a huge soft spot for geeky professions, especially when one of them is drop-dead beautiful (I really can't tell if her brother is good looking).

How funny is it that people are complaining about how stubborn donkeys are?! (I need an interrobang here). Nice start to the new season, so far.

I'm sorry to have seen the lesbian ministers go...they were a pleasant pair, unlike the father/daughter team. She should've just hit him in the face with the pole...then run over him with the bike...and the trike/bike thing...and maybe that bus they drove on.

Who the hell tells their kid they're disappointed in them? Ugh.

That was a good episode, but how on earth did the father go from all peace & sunshine in ep. 1 to the a**hole from hell in ep. 2?

Seeing grandpa in his muddy, saggy skivvies was just about enough to make me lose my dinner.

Yeah, saggy grandpagaba was not a pretty sight.

The loss of the sisters makes me very sad.

There were some great milking moments in that episode.

I would totally give Lorena a huge ration of crap for her absolute meltdown, but it looked as if she was fighting some sort of phobia-related panic attack throughout the whole thing. I'll leave her be on that...for now.

Nathan and Jennifer: Yeah, you both need to take some "calm the hell down" pills. Oh, sorry, Nathan. "Calm the heck down" pills.

The loss of the sisters was kind of a suck to me, but they really kind of screwed themselves into it. They gave help to Lorena and Jason (not smart), they didn't run with their camels (also not smart), so they were neck and neck with their competition for last place (according to the editing, the reality may be different). They should've given themselves sufficient breathing room to get to and finish the detour so they could be in 8th and survive to the next round.

Blonds are gone and I could not have been happier.

True...thus far, 4 of the 5 teams, I'm really not upset they're out. The lesbian ministers were fun, so I'm bummed they're out. The sisters were "eh", and the other three? Ugh, less said the better. I hope Nate and Jen go next, because the two of them need to be single for a LONG time. Like, move into a monastery/nunnery single.

We need Nate and Jen. No drama otherwise.

This is true, unless Ronald decides to start screaming at his daughter again. Then, we have drama up the wazoo.

I'll come to a compromise. Nate and Jen make it to the final 3, as long as Phil straps electrodes onto the two of them, and provides each of them the opportunity to shock the other one.

I'm all in.

So...Azaria and Hendekea crashed and burned. I'm actually kind of surprised that they didn't have a double leg or a non-elimination leg this week, considering the size of the field.

Nate/Jen: I think had there been no cameras, one or both of them wouldn't have made it out of that boat. Probably Nate, since Jen's looking decidedly ragged in relation to her handling of her (soon to be ex-)boyfriend. Again: electrodes strapped to genetalia, with the corresponding button in the other person's possession.

Kynt/Vyksin: I hope they win. They probably won't, but I hope they do. Seeing as the previews showed them sniping a bit, I'm sure it's just jetlag and fatigue setting in.

Ronald/Christina: Not long for the race, I'll bet. Ron's going back to his old tricks, so we have drama. CEJ is happy. Rubb Ed is just annoyed, since it's not fun drama. (Previously defined by Adam/Rebecca from AR6, Colin/Christie from AR5, and Flo/Zach from AR2)

TK/Rachel: A little too laid back for my taste, but racing quite well. If they're not final 3, I'll be really surprised.

Donald/Nicolas: Also not long for the race, but I admit, I'm really surprised they're staying strong. I would have figured that Donald's being the oldest in this season would have made him likely to run out of steam sooner. So, good for them, I guess. It just weirds me out looking at Nicolas, and trying to figure out who he reminds me of. I wish I knew...
