Guitar Hero 3 Announced

I knew I wasn't going to get away with that.

So I played the demo.

Going off the songs given I have to say this feels much like Guitar Hero 2 where Medium is actually too easy but hard is a massive step up. It's like there needs to be another difficulty in between the two and it's just not there.

I'll probably still buy it like the whore I am.

Just played the demo. I'm sold now, I know, but as for gameplay, in each iteration, Hammer-On/Pull-Offs have gotten easier and easier. I was playing "Rock Me Like A Hurricane" and in GHII I would have missed a LOT of the notes I was hitting. Either that or i've gotten much, MUCH better with practice. It's a hell of a lot more forgiving now. The window to get the note in is pretty large, although, I imagine it's on a song-by-song basis, or else "Through The Fire and Flames" just got a lot less intimidating.

stuff about woman

yeah this thread is full of people hittin that wall for me it was learning to slow down...Id see those runs and my fingers would go nuts. Breathe, move your fingers so the strong ones run the rhythm, and rock man!

The window is basically infinite. I'm trying to think of a good example but sometimes you'll have a long note in a song that HO/POs onto another note. You can let go of the long note at any time and press the fret for the next note, and you'll hit it when it finally comes around.. Maybe it's a bit unrealistic but I think it opens a lot of possibilities for people playing the game, and the devs when building the game.

Woman on Hard was the wall for me too. I got through it by bypassing Woman. I played Quickplay on Hard, other songs in the game that are further down the line. I got a lot more comfortable with playing, then Woman seemed like no problem at all.

What still intimidates me about that song is keeping the rhythm when the tempo is so f*cking fast. I'm worried that I'll start clicking the strum up and down and just default into "fast as I can" mode, so, if I get off track it will just be dead air while back in the real world I'm working furiously to dismantle my guitar through vibration.

Would any of you be interested in creating a GWJ group on guitarhero.com?

So is this out now or is it still being held till the weekend?

Release date is still Sunday, but since the stock is already in stores you might be able to find it in some places that aren't very diligent (*cough* TRU *cough*).

I'm still seeing this as a 28th release.

I don't mind setting something up if no one has yet.
suggestions?

GWJ
Gamers With Jobs
Rockers With Jobs

If anyone has some good suggestions, I'll set it up (or someone else can, if they want)

We do it for Oogaba?

Guitar Hero 1, 2, 2.5 (8os), and 3 tracks are available for purchase on iTunes.

I read somewhere (if I find the link I'll post it) that its just the original songs on itunes. The songs do not include versions that may have been changed for the GH games (for example, songs where new masters were recorded or new guitar parts/solo's were added). For songs that had horrible covers, this is good news. For songs that were slightly revised and sounded good, its a small bit of bad news.

I plan on using iTunes to fill in my collections for any songs I don't already have, though. Guitar Hero playlists are a great addition to any gamer's iPod.

I just wish they were priced as a bundle. Sounded like the price of any or all of the three packs would be the same as buying each song individually.

There are "other" ways to get the guitar hero 3 soundtrack.

The first rule of "The Other Way" club, is we don't talk about "The Other Way"...

So I've heard.

If you wanna rock, you do what you have to do

Alright, but only this one last time.

...and maybe one more, when Rock Band comes out.

One thing that I think is really exciting about rock band is the way that they are going to release whole albums as DLC, instead of just single songs. Kinda like itunes.

I'm actually not so thrilled about that. I know they're trying to choose the best possible stuff, and you can end up doing way too much picky-picking with symbols, but I have no real interest in playing "The God That Failed", but that's just me.

As long as there'll be some good bands, I'm happy.
