The Shame Game: Better Late Than Never

Here's the next set of goals for the Pile of Shame. If you don't have any of the games listed in your pile, feel free to play something else. The goal is to decrease the backlog, have an area to discuss and have fun playing through some of these great games that a lot of us bought and for some reason never played or finished. The goal is to finish ONE
game on this month's list. If you have all of the games below on your list, don't feel compelled to complete all of them.

Sorry for the delay in posting this. I guess the holiday threw me for a loop.

Also, please update the Pile of Shame thread with new games or remove your name from the games you've finished. That way the list stays fresh and we can get some new titles. This month's Wii game is pulled from a region I'd rather not mention.

We've got until the end of September for these. Let's get to work!

I'm going to take a stab at Beyond Good and Evil. I'll be playing it on the Xbox.

I finished Yoshi's Island DS Monday and am working primarily on Final Fantasy 3 DS now.

If I finish Bioshock in a reasonable amount of time I might take a stab at Beyond Good and Evil on Xbox as well. I haven't fired up the old 'Box in a while.

I was going to go for Call of Duty 2, which I picked up this weekend and have been playing through on hard (knocked off Russian and British campaigns already). I guess I can go for Marvel, but that's really a "guys' night in" party game for me.

Or I could just put BioShock in. I haven't yet.

I'll see what else is on my shelf. Psychonauts? Baulder's 2? Icewind Dale? Neverwinter?

Your shelf is eerily similar to mine.

You should probably just play Bioshock though.

Having never played Super Metroid, I'm tempted to choose that one.

But I think I'm going to have to pass on the "shame" this month. I'm re-playing Halo 1 and 2 before I pick up 3 in a few weeks so I don't know that I'll have much time to weed out the pile.

Say, that reminds me. I stopped playing MGS: Subsistence a few weeks back during the sniper battle; I read somewhere that if you wait to long the dude just dies of old age! Must remember to check that tonight!

Oh yeah, if I can find a copy of Halo 2, I want to play that before I grab 3.

I'm going for Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin this time. With all the new releases this month, I should be able to find a little time for a DS game.

Super Metroid would be the only candidate for me, but I'm just now starting Bioshock (finally), and with MP3 after that, who am I kidding?

Can I add Neverwinter Nights 2 for my September game or is it too new of a title?

Updated the list. Anyone who didn't really make a firm commitment was not added. I'm hardcore that way.

I may try to shoot through Neverwinter Nights 2. That is, if Bioshock, Halo 3, and anything I find on gamefly allow me to. Anyone who actually finish the game care to give me a guesstimate as to how long it would take me to get through the main campaign?

I want to "finish the fight". So I finished Halo a couple weeks ago, working on Halo 2 currently.

Super Paper Mario it is.

Hmm, I'm torn between Doom 3 and NWN 2.

I'd put myself down for super paper mario, but sadly my tv suddenly doesn't want to stay on for more than 30 seconds at a time, and I'm not too sure when I'll get around to replacing it.

Play by sound alone. Pretend you are using a power up mushroom to get the screen to display a picture. The ultimate hard mode!

I utterly failed to finish RE4 last month, so I won't even commit to it this time around. Nor BG&E, which I also haven't finished. Not when Bioshock and Civ4: Beyond the Sword are still so fresh and new. Plus I have Hitman: Blood Money waiting in the wings.

I failed in my RE4 quest, as well. That's not stopping me from moving to another game on the Pile. C'mon, Quintin, all the cool kids are doing it.

I'll put in Company of Heroes for this month. A lot of my pile of shame is RTS games so I don't know how many I can complete in a month. If I get through this, I'll also try to finish up C&C3.

That could be fun. The best part is I could declare the game defeated whenever I wanted to, and no one could easily prove otherwise.

Seconded, for exactly the same reasons. Civ 4 is slowly devouring me.

I've put 10 hours into the game over the past week and I'm just now nearing the end of the first act (first of three, I believe). I didn't stall around in game either to waste time (though I have completed all of the quests I've encountered so far).

I think I'm going after Panzer Dragoon Orta.

Throw me on for Halo 2. I'll order it.

List is updated. I removed Fable from the Xbox list, as no one had selected it.

Can I get involved? I am going to finish Halo! And then, Halo2!

Alright, I ordered Halo2 with rush shipping. Should be here Tuesday.

I just beat Panzer Dragoon Orta as it seems to be a pretty short game.

I guess Doom 3 went away? I was finally ready to commit!

I'll take Elite Beat Agents. I think I've taken a long enough break to try and tackle that insane final level again.
