Prototype 2 cover

April 23 – April 27

Section:

In the hopes that the new guy in Prototype avoids his predecessor's need to grind his enemies into his skin like some sort of ghastly beauty treatment, I'm going to give this week's nod to Prototype 2, with a nod to the long awaited A Valley Without Wind on Steam.

And if you're wondering where the PC version of Prototype 2 went, apparently it's been delayed to July 24, and conversely, the Risen 2: Dark Waters release to the consoles was also delayed until July 31 US (August 3rd for Europe).

Comments

I'm just jazzed that the marketing image for the main character in Prototype 2 isn't a buzzcut white bro.

I had forgotten about Shifting World. I might give that a spin.

That's because he's not white.

Future Cop LAPD. That was pretty good way back when, seemed like a re-named "Strike" game.

I saw a commercial for Prototype 2 tonight. The chosen music was Johnny Cash's version of "Hurt". Um, way to really get the blood pumping for the game, guys.

It's in the Gears of War / Mad World ad "genre."

Except of course (SPOILER!)

Spoiler:

that's how the game ends--ashes to ashes; dust to, um, dust

They have that on super-high rotation on Sportsnet up here.......... the ad comes on once per break. As much as I like that version of Hurt, the visuals in the advertisement are awful - makes me cringe to be a gamer.

Ha, that's exactly my feeling and where I saw it too, watching Connected after the 'Nucks elimination.

Wife: "What's that?"
Me: "Something that makes me embarrassed to be a gamer."

I bought Prototype 1 for my PC

Buggy piece of crap. I don't think I'll get Prototype 2 because I spent more time cursing than actually playing. I sortof hate the franchise because of this

Analysts have downgraded Prototype 2 from 900k to less than 500k units.

What happened to Mr. Beardy?

Nothing new for me this week. Enjoying Botanicula and Xenoblade

I heard he was a big jerk and nobody likes him.

(He's going to take a couple weeks off for TWA. As far as I know, he's still on for Thursdays.)
