Tretiak jersey!

I know! Prederick, I shall lick your chest.

Vladislav Tretyak jersey? Pred continues to blow my mind.

UPDATE!

Ok, so HP is sadly out of the mix. Is there anyone semi-near Maryland that I could hook up with for the rest of the journey? Like I said I really don't feel safe bringing my car into the Big City, nor trust myself in it. I'd get lost in about 1.34 seconds and start crying in the fetal position singing myself to sleep.

I'm not very good in big cities. Always wind up on the opposite end of where I should be.

I'd pay for the trouble, anyway.

I will already be in the city Friday night, but I'm training it in from Jersey. The train station near me (Chatham) has free parking on weekends if you're interested. Round trip into the city is $16.

If your coming up from Maryland area Vrikk, I'd actually goto the Hamilton , here Since its right off I295, and easy to get to.

Anyway, see all who are showing up tomorrow.

D-Day people!

Again, if you're confused, we will be meeting tomorrow at Dave & Buster's at 234 W. 42nd St., 3rd Floor, in New York City. You know, the one with the skyscrapers and exploding steam pipes.

Dave & Buster's can be contacted at 646-495-2011. I'm a little iffy since we're not calling ahead for space, but let's keep our fingers crossed.

Again, like I said, i'll be showing up early (arriving in NYC at 2:26 PM, with luck). Given that i've got the mantle of organizing this little shindig, feel free to PM me and i'll give you my cellphone number so you can contact me and i'll try to organize, especially in case of some sort of disaster. I'll be checking this thread and GWJ again tomorrow morning one last time, so you've got until about 11:45 AM before I leave for Poughkeepsie to catch the train.

I hope to see you all there.

I'm headed down shortly. Should be there by 4.

Friends, I have an emergency Have to go Massachusets to take charge of a vacation cottage that we rented. They asked me to be there today as opposed to tomorrow, agreed before.

Very sorry! My deep apologies to Pred, who planned the event so meticulously. I'll make it up for you, man!

I woke up today at 5:30 PM, hung over as sh*t.

So I had a good time. And I hope you all had a very good time. It was great meeting everyone, even though I already don't remember anyone's names or your handles. I do remember sucking ass at Golf, being incapable of winning Wheel of Fortune, and that Dave & Buster's is the very definition of a "Cash Sinkhole".

We'll have to do this again.

Yes, good times. I think the defining moment was all of us yelling at our poor racehorse, Goodjer, as he finished something like 3 lengths behind the last horse.

If only you'd had a better 'relationship' with the horse.

How many attendees were there? Who stayed for a dinner?

6 Total attendees (Prederick, Jolly Bill, Zaque, Croaker, Croakers wife, and Dr_Awkward). Four of us, Croaker and his wife had to go home to the kids, stayed for dinner at an Irish pub after hanging around D&B for a while. It finally broke up after the Chelsea - LA game finished, around 11.30 or so.

I took some pictures at the S&T and not having heard any "Do Not Show That Photo" from the attendees -- sorry, Zaque, I failed to recall your handle, so I didn't include you on my PM's -- here's a selected "baker's half-dozen".

Dave&Buster's was pretty dim overall, so most of the pictures were pretty dark. I tried brightening them some (without introducing any obvious artifacts) and they've been reduced twice -- once when I did my cropping and again by flickr as it limits sizes to no more than 1024 pixels across and something vertically.

So, first some pictures around the table.

Clockwise, starting from my empty chair, we have Mrs. Croaker, Dr_Awkward, Jolly Bill, Prederick, and Zaque.

After sufficient drinking, we headed off for some arcade gaming. Here's Prederick and Jolly Bill shooting some innocent wildlife, with Zaque and Mrs. Croaker watching.

Moving on to a different game, here's Prederick and Zaque playing a pair of "stick your head in a bowl and look silly" FPS games. Dr_Awkward and Jolly Bill watch. Prederick afterward notes that this wasn't the best choice of gaming after consuming a fair amount of alcohol.

And here's Jolly Bill and Prederick playing a co-op shooter with Zaque and Dr_Awkward watching.

Right after this, my wife and I needed to head back home.

Te-diddly-riffic!!

God damn Jolly and his goddamn Shotgun.

Pred,

I know it's rude to ask a lady her age, but how old are you? I imagined you as being 21 or so, but you look like you're a few years older than that.

Sorry I missed it guys... next time try for a weekday.. I'd have better odds at making it.

In retrospect, I should've gone without the hat, because the pants and Pumas were totally pimpin'. Shut up.

That's incredibly-soon-to-be-24-year-old-lady-beard there. We'd have graduated earlier, but crap happens, so we just did. Also, the SUNY system blows.

God, that Horse was a freaking wuss. What gets me is that, even though the guy next to me mentioned that Goodjer's stats were "really good for starting", those guys had apparently been at that crap all afternoon.

Suddenly i'm imagining myself getting progressively drunker and more abusive towards my horse as we race for the Triple Crown.

I'm sorry I missed it.

Yes, yes you are.

On the bright side, I think we made some sort of drunken oath to do this again sometime.

Pred,

You look about 45 in the photo where you're holding the shotgun.

TIP:

Don't hold shotguns. You may not survive the zombie outbreak, but you'll look faaaahbulous.

Are we doing this again?

Hey, "we"? You ain't been there the last time!

That year was fun, last year was fun, and I think we can do it again, although I think this time we should attempt to create a larger itinerary than "drink and then whatever".

Maybe you can try explaining to that guy again how "fresh vag" and "cheap vag" do not ever intersect on any venn diagram anywhere.

I might be in for this!

BEST PUBLIC CONVERSATION EVER. I am a distinguished Master Debater, of course.

I'm definitely in this time, organized itinerary or not.

There's nothing else to do around this area but the Retro Museum. There are bars, a place called the Piggy Bank, and it's all within 1/2 mile or so from the Metro North Station, some drive-ins, the Hyde Park and the Overlook, about 45 minutes north of here. That would depend on the line-up of double features showing.
