March 5 – March 9

Bad news, Earth lovers. Looks like Earth is totally getting invaded this week. The good news is that a short-tempered, morally compromised, alien sympathizing ex-Spectre who has spent the past few years moonlighting for what most people consider a terrorist organization has totes got this covered. Worry not, Shepard is back!

Mass Effect 3 brings us the final installment of the over-arching Reaper driven story to date, and hopefully big answers to big questions. Questions like: will we return to the Citadel and be forced to suffer Ambassador Udina again without having the option to shoot him? Will Joker and EDI finally consummate their love? Will we ever get to hang out with the Illusive Man in his cool sun-facing office? These are just a few of the questions that are only remotely funny if you've played the previous games. And even then, still probably not.

I wrote last week about my deep, sinful love for Mass Effect 2, and I also mentioned that because of this I am concerned that 3 will fall short. But, if it doesn't, then this is perched to become one of if not the best sci-fi gaming epics in decades. All things considered, I'm hoping that Shepard's third journey is the stuff of legends.

Whatever. Blades of Time got robbed! I prefer my games to have real gravitas.

Who was robbed? That looks to have about as much gravitas as Mass Effect.

Fight! Fight! Fight!

(I'm hoping I Am Alive has gravitas.)

Console-only, Certis. Maybe if there was a PC port.

I might have to see what space on my hard drive I can clear off. That, or buy a bigger Xbox hard drive so I can download I Am Alive. I just don't have the space for it at the moment, and I'm pretty sure I've already deleted a bunch of DLC and Arcade games before. I may have to just wait until the potential PS3 release.

As for Mass Effect 3, meh. I need to beat Dragon Age 2 before I play ME3, as well as the ME2 DLC. I'll save it for when it's $30.

Aww, how cute. X-Blades and Golden Axe had a baby.

Gravitas? I thought it was called oogaba.

The Show & Mass Effect 3. It's Hanukkah in March.

Is there a reason they didn't just call it "Boobs of Time"?

Also, MASS EFFECT 3. I cannot squee loud enough.

Will Joker and EDI finally consummate their love?

Somewhere in a dark corner of the internet, a slash fic author has begun feverishly typing at his keyboard.

I Am Alive is out? Wow, is it just me, or did this get completely dropped as far as previews, trailers, or publicity of any kind?

Those legs.

Don't let me down, DeviantArt!

Well, it went from big retail game to an Xbox Live Arcade title. Such games never really get much in the way of marketing, so...

Do you plunge your dagger of time into the blades of time to restock your ability to rewind time?

Now with 18% more entendre!

Feel bad for her, she's got to be cold in that outfit, plus from the way she's standing I'd have to think she has a dislocated spine. Poor girl.

Are you double dipping on the Show this week? Or are you waiting a little while to pick up the Vita version?

I think you can recruit Gravitas for your party in ME3.

...this wait until Friday will be intolerable.

Also, since when did Xblades sell enough to warrant a sequel!?!

Lots of ME3 for me, and a few hours shall be spared on Tuesday to wander through the desert of Journey. This is a pretty awesome gaming week.

Why? 200,000 sales seems like something that demands a sequel.

Hoping to pick up the PS3 version on the way home (the little shop near me usually gets it at least one night before official release) and then download the Vita version from PSN the second it becomes available.

Mass Effect's the one thing on the list this week that makes me go ga-ga. Avoiding it till the pile dies in, oh, about 5 years? :S

Mass Effect 3 is pre-loaded and ready to go

ME3, Journey and Kid Icarus all in one month. Woohoo!

Oh joy. Another western rpg to dominate the front page articles for a month or 2....

Please excuse my lack of enthusiasm. Two rpg's right in a row is already starting to drag for me. I'm just missing seeing stuff I can even pretend to care about / enjoy. Of course, I guess the alternative would be no front page articles.

I'm kind of interested in I Am Alive. The trailer from like 3 years ago made it seem like an interesting premise.

I had never even heard Blades of Time was a thing until today. Hack & Slash + possible time travel story sounded fun. Then I realized it was a followup to X-Blades, which was so bad I quit the demo after like 5 minutes.

I feel like I should be interested in Mass Effect 3, considering how much I loved the first game, but while the world was still cool, I felt ME2 was a step in an uninteresting direction, mechanically and overall plot (though individual character stories were great). ME3 seems like more of the same based on the demo. I'll play it eventually, but I'm not in a rush.

EDIT: Nevermind.

Man, I wish Amazon had screwed up and shipped early.

You mean you don't love Skyrim more than your own child?

If I explored a child the way I explore Skyrim, I would be rightfully arrested.

Hey everyone, stop liking that thing you like so much! I don't like it at all, so you should like it less!

I'm sorry, that's not fair. You should be able to like that thing, as much as you want. Just don't talk about it around me. Which could be anywhere. So don't talk it about it all.

There, that's fair.
