Anyone use Twitter?

You could've just told me to stop it or something instead of just removing me. :\

I haven't removed ya yet Edwin, but, uhm... I would appreciate it if you stopped using the script. It does tend to fill up the twitter home page :\

I tried it, and it was dumb. Maybe if I was 15 years old.

I guess I'm just a 15 year old trapped in a 30 year olds body.

I suggest you start using more Japanese style emoticons to further "out" your inner school girl.

I blame a combination of Demi, being awake nearly 24 hours thanks to work and ... polar bears.

Added you to the hitlist; welcome aboard.

Will you be adding us back? Or will this be a one way relationship?

Regardless, I added you anyway.

I've noticed that your live spam is quite less lately, was there a setting or something for that?

I didn't see one at first but I dug around and found something that only updated if I changed games.

Do share.

Ah, thanks. Didn't realise it was an update of the original app you posted about.

I have to say, I like twitter. It's the only one of the newish social type sites I remember to keep up with. I have accounts on various forums and sites, and a myspace page, and most of them have just languished unattended, but twitter is much more addictive. I might even turn on mobile updates and see how that works out

Right, I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm just about completely f*cked off with Twitter's on-going reliability problems and general sloppiness. I'm proposing a move to Jaiku, which has been advocated over Twitter for many months now by people like Leo Leporte.

Jaiku has several improvements over Twitter, not just greater reliability; it also supports group messaging via user-created channels. I've already taken the liberty of creating a Gamers With Jobs channel for instance.

It'd be great if all the Goodjers in our little circle would move over, and anyone else interested who's not already Trittering too. Otherwise SirRockford and me will be a little lonely over there...

And you wouldn't want that now, would you?

The only downfall I've found so far is a lack of a firefox plugin for Jaiku. But, I haven't finished searching for one yet either.

Don't be lonely.

Is Jaiku free to recieve and post to by SMS in the UK? I tend to do the majority of my twittering by phone.

Should be.

Ask Wrestlevania. He's in the UK too.

I've got a Jaiku too. But I dig Twitter a whole lot more.

I ain't signing up for no new fangled blog thingy.

Yeah, I don't think I can be bothered to switch, I couldn't keep up with two and I like Twitter.

Well, unfortunately, unless people were to switch, I don't think I would be able to switch either, I can't imagine keeping up with both. We will have to see how this plays out.

I really like the additional features of Jaiku, it definitely seems like a more fully featured version of Twitter.

I've never understood this. What features do you need? A chat channel? Microblogging isn't for chatting like IRC or forums. It's a lot more abstract than that.

Leo Laporte was paranoid about Twitter's name infringing on his TWiT trademark. That's hardly advocation.

I like the comments and the fact that it actually works most of the time, but that's just me.

QFT. I've got to admit twitter is just sort of flak at times. I know that is server load and all that, but it's just annoying when you miss tweets from your friends and stuff like that. I also really like the ability to comment on people's microblogs, I think that is nifty.

Plus, the chat channel is a nice way to be able to find people, like goodjers, if they post to the "gamerswithjobs" channel.

Anyway, I will stay with twitter, if that is where everyone else chooses to be, but I do really like Jaiku, plus the interface is just a bit snazzier too.

I think part of it is migration hangover: I'm not really ready to setup another microblogging outlet since I just started using Twitter about 2 weeks ago and dig it so far. I checked out Jaiku and yes, it does seem more fully featured, but I actually don't need those features personally. Plus, Twitter seems to work better in Canada.

I've not heard that before, but it sounds tenuous at best.

He was bemoaning Twitter's reliability the few times I've heard him speak about it, along with a few others.
