Finished Any Games Lately?

I'm just about finished RE4 for the 'Cube. I hope. This game is getting to be a bit of a slog, at this point. (some 17 hours in).

Assault Heros and Gears was the last games I finished on co-op with my wife.

Before that my life was lost to Oblvion on the PC. I never did finish that one, but with that game you could play forever and never finish it.

The second disk is better suited to just run through like your ass is on fire. That mentality does not apply with the Regenerators, where my method of choice is to mute the TV and close my eyes.

If you're not burnt out after finishing the game, be sure to try the Mercenaries mode. Gaming Perfection.

I think it can be done and plan to do so.

Yeah, I'm wandering around the Island, now. Which are the Regenerators? I may not have run into them yet.

You'll know. Trust me. As soon as you meet them, you'll know. I still jump like a 5-year old girl when they pop on the screen.

Hell after reading that I just got shivers up and down my spine as I mentally remembered the sounds they made! God those things gave me the creeps something fierce!

Do you mean the Iron Maidens? I played that with a buddy the other day and they're really stressful.

I've finished Lost Planet fairly recently and quickly; I need to get onto the MP really. Enjoyed it though.

I really enjoyed Prey, which seems to be a pretty divisive game. I think it helped that I got it my HD TV the same weekend that I got Prey, and it looks amazing through component. The messing about with gravity and portals and so on really appealed to me. I certainly finished it, and look forward to doing so a again sometime. The really long intro annoys me though.

Okay, finally cleared Resident Evil 4. That game turned into a major slog. Fun, but very sloggy. They could have trimmed out 4 hours of game and it would have still rocked.

Oh, I so very knew it. And I was out of rifle ammo at the time.
Fighting them was pretty easy, though.. Blow their leg off, run away, pull out rifle, shoot the parasites, blow leg off again, get the one on the back.

I finished Dark Messiah. I like the idea more then the game. The beginning was great, had some unique moments even. I love the sword fighting, especially against multiple enemies and with the physics or normal traps around. It's a great rush to be face to face with 4 enemies and dispatch them within a minute by kicking 1 in a spike wall, 1 down the stairs, 1 by a normal fight and 1 by a adrenaline decapitation.

I played the game on hard, which was indeed pretty hard.

The problem with the game is that the further you come, the more uninspired the scenery becomes. In the end all you see are dark catacombs. The beginning, when fighting the orcs and goblins is plain brilliant. Fighting 6 orcs on front of the spider temple, with all the glory of the source engine in an outside environment is great.

All in all, had great fun, but the farther to the end, the more bored I got. I do recommend the game to all the melee sword fighting lovers, because it has the best sword mechanics I have played with.

I felt that the fights against the spiders tended to drag on. Hit detection against them seemed a bit iffy to me. They were far to easy to miss with power attacks. I found lightning daggers to be the most effective against them.

I'm of two minds about the spike traps. They're fun to use. On the other hand, a bit cheap and they felt very out of place in many spots.

I finished Same & Max: Episode One the other day. Finally, an adventure game I can finish!

I just finished episode 2 yesterday. I'm in the lead!

I've beat Episode 3, so ha! Even the awesome ninja fight in the garden of puppies. Man that was a Female Doggo.

Certis you do know that as long as the thingie is green you can't be seen very well right? The reason they went for this less-dark approach is because as awsome as Chaos Theory was (and it was) looking at everything through the black-green tint of night vision isn't particularily appealing, and many assets go unnoticed. A lot of the time in Double Agent where it doesn't look like you are in shadows you are really fully concealed.

In Chaos Theory Sam glowed just a little bit so you could always see what he was doing, even in the dark. Popping on the night vision was never necessary, just cool.

I recently "beat" Harvest Moon: Magical Melody - that is, I got half of the musical notes and revived the Harvest Goddess. Still working on getting married, getting the rest of the notes, but the main storyline objective is completed.

Ah. I played it on the PC and he was pitch black in darkness. I just assumed it was the same on the Xbox, my mistake.

Don't do it, man! Getting married means you lose!

I just finished it with a warrior type character at normal difficulty, plan on restarting it with a Mage character on hard.

I agree. I hope I never play another game with a "Spider lair" (fat chance). The game starts off with a bang but by the time I got to the end, I just wanted it to end. Just like Doom 3.

I just finished Twilight Princess(cube version) and have just embarked upon a journey to the mind in Psychonaughts.

Atch! Oh! So... tacky! Can't look directly at it!

Hands down my favorite scene.

Just finished Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time. Great game, but how many freaking boss fights do you really need.

It's fairly dark on the Gamecube as well. Night vision's practically required.

Still love the game, though. Despite the abrupt ending of the co-op mode. *grumblegrumble*

Finished Lost Planet... I really like 95% of the game and I really hate 5% of it. Unfortunately that 5% overweighs everything else! I speaking of the Boss Fights -- they simply not fun compared to the rest of the game. I know this game is kind of a take on retro game but they could at least fix the annoying boss battles.

I finally finished Freedom Fighters. Fairly typical FPS fare, though with some basic control over AI squadmates.

Finished Mystery Case Files: Prime Suspects earlier today. It's a casual game that boils down to searching for a list of objects well-hidden in nicely drawn scenes, intermixed with some light puzzle solving between levels. Very fun and an absolute time-sucker, though it does drag on a bit. It's a nice game to have up while listening to music or podcasts, as they don't detract from your ability to play the game.

Try the demo if that sounds at all interesting - it gives a good overview of what the rest of the game's like.

Yeah, I really want to replay some parts with a mage, archer or assassin build too. I will probably just cheat my way to the cool parts and cheats these builds. I really don't want to see another spider lair, or catacomb for that matter.

I really liked Freedom Fighters. Probably the closest we'll get to 'Red Dawn: The Game'.

I beat Baldur's Gate II for the first time over the weekend. It took me three "sessions" including one start-over, over the course of two or three years before I finished it. I'd say it was a pretty good game that I was thoroughly enjoying by the end, but overall, I didn't like it as much as BGI. The pacing and party-member-kidnapping-by-storyline aspects simply did not go along with my natural play style.

When I play a party-based RPG, I want to plan the make-up at the beginning and be able to stick with that group for the entirety of the game. Of course, the first thing BGII does is go and snatch up one of your party-members, and it's a very long time until you get that member back, even when you make it your first priority.

The pacing is such that once you commit to doing something on the main quest, you can get stuck doing that for several hours before you're free to do your own thing. This is pretty much how the game ended for me - I decided to go to a certain area that I thought would allow me to advance on a side quest, and while I was there, I could also do something on the main quest. Next thing I knew, I was fighting the last battle in the game. By then, I had seen it coming, but I didn't like feeling rushed into it. Actually, I thought a lot of the main quest felt like I was forced into doing it, and the side-quests always seemed like they were time-dependent as well.

Once I learned to roll with the punches, the game became a lot more enjoyable. The main and side stories were all great in the end, and the game play was excellent. I'm looking forward to completing Throne of Bhaal and going back some day to play the game and the expansion again.
