Finished Any Games Lately?

Just recently put the finish on:

Grand Theft Auto:Liberty City Stories
Shadow of the Colossus
Manhunt

I have just started Twighlight Princess on the cube. Man, this game is a blast.

Finally finished FFX. The game was fun but not as engaging as the PS1 FFs. I also understand now why some would say the game feels "pop." Also rushed through HL2:Ep1 in a day, and that was a blast.

Gears of War (casual, hardcore and I'm on Raam on insane)

Raam on INSANE. I recommend cooperative online, and wait in the train car for the weapons to respawn and go in full (REALLY full!)

Yeah, after watching Dom get mowed down in 5 seconds, I quickly realized that I might need another human player to take the fool down.

I don't believe I've ever finished a game. Maybe Wing Commander 2 back in, what, 1986 or something. Almost finished Freespace 2. Almost.

I have no hope or plan of ever finishing anything current.

I just finished Okami no more than five minutes ago. Absolutely a must play for anyone.

Dom can be a real putz sometimes.

If your on before you get all moved in, set up and look me up online, send me an invite, and watch us die several times.

There's a way to get Raam stuck on the initial train car. One player moves up to the FAR RIGHT SIDE wall on the first car and ducks- Raam will move towards the player, but he stays in the 2nd car. He'll sit there moving his legs but going nowhere. The CLOSE player flings grenades at Raam, and the FAR player takes torque bow and sniper shots at his head. It takes some doing, but do that and he's dead. *Sometimes Raam will randomly kill FAR player through the crates, while the player is ducking, and can't be seen.[/color]

solitare, mine sweeper, a quest or two

Super Castlevania IV on the VC.

That's about it lately. I don't really beat games since my free time is usually used sleeping or on the computer surfing the 'net.

Oh! I have beaten the first level on Ikaruga. That counts for something, right? I mean, it is physically impossible to actually beat that game.

This was before your time here on the forums so here is a link about the video we showed back then.

Gadzooks! I couldn't have even done that controlling one ship!

There is another one of someone playing the whole game through on hard perfectly.

We only beat Ikaruga after playing it so long that the game took pity on us and gave us unlimited continues.

True story. Very awesome game, too.

One of the newer Double Dragons on the NES did that, but my character would not die. Didn't fall in holes, didn't get beat up- nothing. Wandered through to the end, beat the game, questioned why I played the game, and proceeded to cry.

Woot! I finally got the half million and single lap quarter million acheivements in Lumines Live, pulled down roughly 750,000 points in advance mode, and unlocked the final skin. Of course, it would be a bit disingenuous to say I was "finished" with the game, since it still has me thoroughly in it's grasp. I do, after all, still have that second (and nearly impossible) tier of time attack achievements to get, you know?

I finished Marvel: Ultimate Alliance a few days ago, and had the good fortune of a friend visiting to help co-op my way past Dr. Doom, making it all the better.

I know I have games that are more innovative and better looking in my library, but trying out new powers, team combinations, and unlocking hero skins has totally mesmerized me for the past few weeks. I figured once through would be enough, but I turned around and started right over again. Being able to keep your attributes from the completed save is great... and the simulator missions should keep me busy for a good while as well.

With my disconnect from the internet for about the past 7 months I had some time to finish up some single player stuff.

Oblivion(not 1000 points, but main quest, need thieves guild, wizards guild and dark brotherhood)
GRAW
Splinter Cell: DA(Hard)

Tomb Raider: Legends
Splinter Cell: Double Agents

Not the longest games in the world, but I'm still proud of myself considering my track record for not finishing what I start.

I'm almost done with Vegas Coop on the PC. I love most coop games you throw at me, and so I also love this one. After the finish, we will go on the realistic setting and go through it again.

Finished Need for Speed Carbon over the weekend. Not bad, but I still think Most Wanted was better.

Quick, my 2c.

That said, it becoming some what apparent that NFS series becoming less about skill and more about luck. I blame on poor AI and its rubber-band behavior. I mean, I'm running a perfect lap with 1.5min lead... top speed, perfect corners... only to find that AI passing me by at 250mph(<-- estimated) in less than 10sec! A bit discouraging. However, it not all bad... there is a way to abuse the AI behavior for ones advantage... namely the new game feature, The Crew! Pointless addition to the game because:

Blocker - Worthless! At the beginning of the race, they will just get in the way. Later in the race, they fall so far behind that it's pointless to even bother.
Drafter - Worthless! Can't activate them at the beginning of the race for much needed boost. Then they barely keep up and even if you try to use their streamline boost... they will end up killing any boost you got by getting in the way.
Scout - Some what worthless for intended purpose but extremely useful for abusing AI programming. It nice that they find shortcuts for any specific race, but their problem is that they will take any short cut even if there is no need for it. Given that, the beauty of scouts is that they will always drive faster than the player and have the same ability as opponent AI to take 90degree turns at 200mhp with out problems. There for, they always finish first! I'd say they finished about 60% of the races for me in the game.

With that out of the way, there are some frame rate problems"… especially in race events that have 20+ opponents and the only way to improve the frame rate is to actually get to the 1st position and gain some lead. <-- best if done quickly.
Graphics are kind of "˜meh'"… which is surprise since it's running on the same engine as MW. I guess they should have put back the bloom and blur effect in the game; it made Most Wanted look better!

[Quick glance at the list of gripes"…]

Soundtrack"… lost all faith in EATrax™. However, I have to admit that the Chinese battle theme fit perfectly with the Canyon race events. I guess 1 out 30 EATrax™ is not bad.

"…

It's not all bad. As insane as it sounds, I like the story, the crazy acting, etc"… but I'll have to gripe about it as well"… and with Spoiler!

Everything in the story was moving along ok until the end. I find out what happen to the money, who set me up, etc"… Alright, I get to challenge the guy in the race and win what is mine. Alright, I won the race now show me the money"… wait, um, he just got in the car and left. WTF happen to the money"… and shouldn't we be beating the crap out of him for taking the money and sending people to jail? Anyone? "…well at least I get to keep his car"… right? My car, the one that I won in the f'ing 4 part race in which I had a desire to kick the Developer in the nuts! Yes, that car! Wait what"… I don't get the car! Then what happens now?

EA wrote:

Thank you for playing Need for Speed Carbon. We hope you enjoyed it and if you sill have no desire to kill an EA developer who worked on this game"… then perhaps you might want to play it again. This time try choosing a different car class"… he-he!

WTF happen to my car? I guess, I'll find out in Need for Speed: Carbon 2: WTF happen to my car? ...or the money? Either one is fine.

True story"… except for desire to kill a developer.

[/gripe]

I say if the game is around $20"… and some one has plenty of free time. Might be worthy pick up to kill some time.

Nei very little of what you described there sounds like any fun.

I think I'll stick with Midnight Club 3 whenever the need for speed strikes me.

I have just finished Twilight Princess of Wii. I was having such a great time, I went for 100% completion, which is almost unheard of for me with a game of that scale. Now I need a new project.

Too bad there is no Midnight Club 4 in the making.

That said NFS: Carbon is not all bad. Canyon Race events are actually pretty good... and a highlight of the game. Drift challenges, although I'm still baffled by how it is the new rave in racing world and it plays pretty much like Ridge Racer... but I have to admit that I enjoyed them more then most race events because they seem more lean back and relax. Although there are few issues with drift events... the camera at times swings to the side of the car making it look like you about to crash. Which is not the case but since the camera twitches and so did I, killing multipliers on my drift. Not a biggy.

There are also cop chases, they some what fun. Still... kind off.

Try for 100% of Final Fantasy 12, probably take you 120 - 150 hours.

Finally finished Wind Waker after a two-year layoff. I think the time away hurt, as I didn't really get a feel for the game again until the Triforce fetch quest came up, followed by what I perceived as padding in the boss-fight-redux-lightning-round... all mixing to form this strange melange of joy, confusion, and drudgery. I do really like the story of that game, though. Thinking about the classic Zelda landscape, submerged far beneath you... it was a great idea.

Going to pick up Twilight Princess tonight.

Um, I beat GoW on hardcore the other week. I needed a friend to co-op though.

Finished F.E.A.R. for Xbox 360 over the weekend.

Zero and I finished Halo 2 finally. I'm still working on finishing Gears on Insane.

If it ever turns up in the UK, I'd love to...but I will fail, as mentioned in the thread about 100% completion a couple of days ago

I just finished Farenheit (Indigo Prophecy). Now, there is a game ruined by it's last 10 minutes. Ho hum. Hopefully, I'll get Lost Planet tomorrow

I finished King Kong over the weekend. If they had removed the first half of the game, it would have been fairly good. It also would have been a 3 hour game...
