How is Viva Pinata, hombre?

Par, I'd just add two other tips. 1) Start up a new garden if you're feeling overwhelmed by the first. You get all of your tools/levels/money/etc from your first garden and you can always return. 2) If you have two species that just refuse to get along, then box one of them up and send them to yourself. You can always open the package in your second (or third..) garden if you need that specific animal for something.

Thanks for all the help guys. Actually... just sitting back and doing whatever I feel like (water a single plant to fruition or making a pond "just right") I went from lvl 11 to 17 in a couple hours LOL.

I had 2 gardens earlier that were just driving me nutz because I couldnt make everything happy at the same time. So I sold everything in the first two and created a third. Its not very big but its a whole hell of a lot more fun now that it was before.

Wish this advice was printed on the outside of the box. Thanks guys! =)

However, pesky hippo just won't materialize I understand there should be a package awaiting for a pickup at the Post Office? There aren't any... There are also no alerts anywhere in the garden or the game's menus to that effect...

Dang... Sorry Gorilla. Well, I hope it is the case that Drunken has described. Regarding delay in delivery... or something like that. I'll check tomorrow if I got the packages returned to me.

Hahaha! Thanks for the beaver Katerin!

I logged into my garden to receive that crate of gem seeds from Brizahd and to my surprise found a second crate of technicolor beaver. With wigs.

Katerin has a way with beaver...

Brizahd, thanks for the gem seeds.

I just sent some monkeys around to scrub and Gorilla. If anyone else wants any, let me know - I've got a whole farm going.

Any luck with that stuff Rilla? Make sure to hit 'x' at the post office - it took me forever to figure out that was how to access the incoming mail

I would also like to know. I checked my Postal and I've got nothing returned... and I also checked my log to make sure that I sent the Hippos to the right person. However the funny thing is, I sent 2 hippos on Jan 3... but according to log, I send it on the Jan 4 around the time when I'm at work. It seems like there is 12hours delay.

As a recipient, I found that I had to log in and let the garden run for a while before a crate actually appears, even if the crate was sent the day before. It seems to appear after 15-20 minutes.

When you get the notice it arrived, you open the post office, hit X and go from there.

No, guys, still no packages... Noone writes to the Colonel.

However: I checked the manual booklet once again (the one that comes with the game), and found that ability to send and receive packages becomes available "at a certain level". Looks like my kid has some leveling up to do first

...but I think once you have Post Office unlocked that should be more than sufficient to receive packages. As far as I recall, you were able to buy a box to ship things, so I think you should be able to receive things as well. G, try sending something to your-self! It's only cost 1cc... pack something like a worm, because they are plentifully and easily replaced if lost. If anything, that should answer if you are able to receive packages... It might even push what ever is sitting on hold.

I was looking at Pinata rankings and amazed at how expensive some are. So I was trying to think of how they do it besides getting a wildcard. So I made a new garden to dump the animals I send away to pinata central. I figure when one of those challenges comes up I can go retrieve the specific species needed and keep increasing its value.

Anyway I sent myself 2 Elephanillas, and it took a while for them to show up after I got the icon pop up about mail. Took me popping in and out a few times before I saw them.

I think there are 3 things that make you pinata value go up:

1. Pinata mood, if it's happy, it will have better value.
2. Accessories raise the value of the pinata.
3. Every time you send a Pinata for factory request it also increase it's value.

Factory requests add 20% to the value of the pinata every time it goes.

Ah it is a % and not a fixed amount, well that explains the crazy 300k pinatas. I think it was 300k... it was late, no early and I was sleepy

This was the greatest timing. I had a monkey I was using to try to get to 10k value, decked out in every expensive accessory and I was sending him on every mission. Next thing I know, Pester gets unlocked, comes down and smacks my monkey open! I was agape.

So I open the crate you gave me -- thinking, at least I have friends, haha -- and out pops a monkey with a fez. That was AWESOME. So questions:

1. Does anyone know how to keep Pester and/or Ruffians away reliably? I have the Dastardos statue and that seems to work for him. Are these guys attracted to the expensive pinatas?

2. Has anyone bought the accessories packs from Live? I have 200 points so I think I might just pick them up if they are fun. Follow-up question: Can these accessories be sent to others on the pinatas? I'm guessing so...

scrub, the Captain's Cutlass will keep them away for good. I'm not exactly sure what the Dastardos statue does, but it may make Dastardos a bit slower. Not very sure.

I think Captain's Cutlass only works on Pester... you could use a wolf to scare off Ruffians. Not 100% sure though.

The Captain's Cutlass will keep the Ruffians away. A mallowolf will scare them away as well.

Alrighty then, I'll grab a cutlass. Now what exactly are my Watchlings doing?!

Getting eaten by Cocadiles, apparently

Hey I was right! Every time you make a new garden the 1st party challenge is for any pinata. So you make new gardens and wait for the challenge and save. Go to the garden where you have your best pinata and ship it to yourself, and open it in the garden you want. Rinse and repeat till you're bored. I've gotten my Elephanilla to 16k now.

You cheesy bastid!

Got a Chewnicorn tonight, and I think that finishes off the entire list of Pinatas for me. Now to start working on some themed gardens

Not quite. When Katerin asks why you've rented a low boy and are heading to six flags, just toss her a chocolate coin and tell her you'll be back in a few.

Must...have...must breed...gaahhhh...

That is, without question, the largest pinata I have ever seen.

I'm probably a skimmer, but how do you get rid of sick visiting pinatas? Their groans and moans are annoying my residents and I.

Smash em

I just picked this game up, and reading this thread makes me realize I've got a long, long way to go before until I get the prime Pinatas. I don't mind, so far this game is absolutely addictive!

Yeah it is cheesy, but I do not have the patience to play catch up to the leaderboards.

Pigxie's hate Swanana's and Rashberries? What kind of sense does that make?
