I don't want to put too much pressure on you, but what game you buy this week might say a lot about you. It's like the choice between buying a salad or McDonalds for lunch, a Prius or a Hummer. The choice is simple, Fallout: New Vegas, Kriby's Epic Yarn or a bunch of other crap.
I love that these two games are coming out in the same week, because in my mind it would be difficult to describe two more diametrically opposed games. One is a family friendly romp through bright colors, and the other is a post-apocalyptic, violent romp through sin city itself. It is a proverbial angel on one shoulder and devil on the other.
I want to pick Kirby for game of the week. I really do. I want to be that guy, but I'm not. I come from the school of PC shooters, and to deny Fallout its rightful place at the center of my attention would be artificial. New Vegas gets game of the week.

Is the DS dead?
How did I live before digital distribution of old, cheap games?

It was murdered along with a slew of puppies and rainbows in order to make this post.
Seriously though, really excited for Fallout: New Vegas. Avellone revisits Fallout? Yes please.
I picked up Kirby and love it. Fallout 3 was just OK for me, felt too much like Oblivion but in a grey boring world. So not really feeling New Vegas.
Vanquish on the other hand- that Demo really pumped me up.
God, I knew Bethesda would ruin Fallout. Also, kudos to Kirby, who said the Wii can't do mature games!

I'm picking them both up. I spent a chunk of yesterday playing Kirby with my kids, and I'll have New Vegas for after they go to bed. At least I will once I finish Castlevania.

What does buying neither say?
Next week will take a bite out of my wallet. RB3 is pretty automatic. But the demo for Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II was a lot of fun.
Argh!...stupid "friday retail release dates in the UK", stopping me playing New Vegas tommorrow despite having it sitting ready to unlock on the ol' hard drive. The agony!
Oh, and needless to say I would highly recommend giving Arcania a miss if you are in any way a fan of a good solid RPG. Because it isn't.
Spend yer money on New Vegas or save it for The Witcher 2, Fable 3 or any number of (potentially) VASTLY better RPG's on the horizon.
inactive here until further notice.
Consider my personality duly profiled. I'm quite excited about Kirby's Epic Yarn but couldn't care less about Fallout: New Vegas. However, both DJ Hero 2 and Vanquish are on my wish list, so there's at least a little nuance to me beyond your litmus test.
Professionally offended. Does not understand jokes. Needs a man to explain them to me.
How does Obsidian snag game of the week after all of their previous blunders? I mean, seriously...
When a game has reviews under embargo until the launch date and is crafted by a company that does well but hasn't shown the skill to really deliver a triple-A title, I have my doubts.
When everyone starts complaining about about F:NV, I'll be over here, counting my saved dollars.

Golly. Being strapped for cash (and having already commited $130 to RB3 next week), I'd pretty much stopped paying attention to the release schedule.
If I was flush, I could happily buy 5 or 6 games this week alone that I'd really enjoy.
You've never known true joy until you've shaken a lich stick at someone.
I hear that. Sorry, Fallout, Kirby, and Fable, I only have money for games that come with keyboards this month.

That Vanquish is the true Game of the Week.

I'm still on the fence about FO:NV. Not having a lot of time right now, I'm sure I could find better uses for $50. Of course, on the other hand, it is Fallout...

Picked up Kirby's Epic Yarn yesterday and got about an hour and a half in with it, playing cooperatively with Meghan. We're having a blast so far. Absolutely top-notch.

I'm choosing Kirby's Epic Yarn and the XBLA release of Super Meat Boy. Judge me accordingly.
(Also, there have already been a number of comments at Quarter to Three about technical issues with the 360 version of Fallout: New Vegas, including repeatable lock-ups related to specific weapon usage at certain parts of the game. I'd say it's definitely worth waiting a while on that one.)

The preorder bonus for Vanquished put it over Kirby for where I spend my money this week, which does indeed say a lot about me.

One of those games is going to make you want to punch small animals. The other will make you want to frolic in fields with them. Should be an interesting mix.

Kirby's Epic Yarn and Costume Quest! This is "Cute Overload" week as far as I'm concerned.
Yeah, I'm pretty excited about Costume Quest.
The digital distribution platform seems like the perfect model for the unique and outlandish Double Fine.

Considering I spent about a year and a half playing Fallout 3 and its expansions, I think I will wait on New Vegas. It just seems like one of those games that will demand full attention, but I need to be able to spread that attention about among about a dozen games. They need love first.

Funny, I felt just the opposite. I played F3 first, and I wanted more of that style RPG so I picked up the GOTY edition of Oblivion and just couldn't get into it. I found the world in Oblivion very uninteresting, and the characters even more so.
But then I'm one of those weirdos who actually thought Moira was a fun character to interact with. It was refreshing to see a woman in a game that was written by someone who actually seems to have met one.
I preordered Fallout New Vegas from Amazon, but they haven't shipped it yet. I'm looking forward to getting my VATS on again. (I hope they updated it so I can target areas with melee weapons. Don't tell me, though. I'm on media blackout.)

I think it's true that epic RPGs soak up most of my DS time. Right now, though, for me it's SMT: Devil Survivor instead.
So I've played about 7 hours of FO:NV and it seems pretty similar to FO3. Except I don't know if it's quite as good. It seems exactly the same but something is different about it, like fewer towns or something.

I'm not buying Fallout, because my roommate is and it took me about 90 hours to realize that I didn't like Fallout 3 nearly as much as everyone else.
Kirby, Vanquish, and Costume Quest have all been purchased already. I was most excited for Vanquish (It is not "a bunch of other crap), but haven't been able to stop playing CQ yet.
I've mostly been using this week to prep myself for Fable III by playing through the DLC for Fable II. (I traded my copy of the game away a while ago, but I took advantage of Microsoft's accidental Fable II Games on Demand giveaway, heh heh.) Need to check out Costume Quest, though; I saw the Giant Bomb Quick Look and fell in love with the aesthetic.
Waiting on New Vegas for a patch and/or a sale. I managed to get Gamefly to send me Kirby's Epic Yarn; I've only played a little of it so far. It's adorable and quite fun, but I find that like a delicious candy, it's best suited to being enjoyed in small snack-sized chunks rather than as a full meal.

Kirby's and Vanquish are this week's interest points for me. I'd like to play Fallout, but between Starcraft 2 and Civ V, there isn't enough of my life to spare for Fallout.
