Japan's Hidden Bosoms

I really need someone to slo-mo and loop that.

If you pass through Osaka when you do, feel free to drop me a line. I can help find some more suitable clothing for your stay.

This one is far better though.

Somewhere, someone is probably masturbating to this.

What's scary and sad is that he's 100% right.

My tits have never had anything cogent to say about N-tier server architecture. So when we're talking about that, try looking at my face instead. Then we'll both be fine.

I know that busting on guys for looking is cultural norm; but let's not forget that the ladies do it just as much. The difference is that most guys aren't so uptight and/or self-conscious that they're constantly worried about a girl checking them out.

The very clear message I'm getting is that it's not the looking, it's the obvious and distracting (that is, very rude) looking. See the difference?

Given that we speak of another culture's f-ed up attitude toward ample bosoms, I'm shocked no one has put out the call to these Japanese women:

"Give me... Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free!"

Women are equally guilty of obvious and distracting looking. So there's still no real difference.

Two wrongs don't make a right. Women who gawk are being just as disrespectful as men who do the same, but that doesn't make gawking polite, respectful or socially acceptable.

Anyway, my original point was not so much about the looking or staring or whatever. It was about how men treat women with large breasts. That doesn't start or stop with just a glance. The things many men say and do around women with very obvious large chests - from assuming you're just interested in getting laid, to condescending you when you're discussing N-Tier architecture - are disrespectful.

Therefore, when a woman desires to dress her upper half more conservatively, it's not always a matter of being ashamed of her chest. Many times, she just wants to be taken seriously by her colleagues.

While the provided visual aid is relatively ancient in Internet years, it is still relevant. Discuss. ;)

Excellent.

Excellent.

Totally! I mean, it's CHOCOLATE!! How that can go wrong!

KaterinLHC,
I personally think there is some inborn part of most mens brains that the "OMG Bobbies" signal take precidence over other things (like coherent speech), they aren't condescending they're getting temporarily dumber.
Maybe some "Scientific" research is in order! We shoudl see if the effect is reduced by going shirtless since there is less hidden and the whole can be observed without having to stare trying to see what else is hiding there!

(Seriously though I am just trying to be funny and have seen men do seriously stupid things around large breasted women that they weren't doing a few moment before)

Maybe its just that basic instinct you see in a newborn never really goes away, and we go through life looking to nuzzle against a warm, lifegiving boobie. No matter that boobie's size, when you are a newborn, its larger than life.

I remember thinking how amazing it was when my boys, born only minutes to hours earlier and still unable to see would seek my wife's breasts on autopilot.

So possibly due to our basic programming, boobie admiration is a feature, not a bug.

My wife is Japanese, and at this time of day her bosom is hidden. (<-- this is truth)

I must leave you now to inquire about correcting this situation. (<--- this is wishful thinking, sigh, back to excel.)

The "rooting" instinct in infants, to nuzzle around looking for anything nipple-like to suck on, is certainly central to Freudian psychology. I don't know if it really holds water, there seem to be much more likely explanations for the breast-fixation.

In a weird way, the conservative chest-hiding practices may be what continues these sorts of behaviors. When hidden, large breasts are less noticable, and thus don't stick out as a defining feature. The women who hide their breasts tend to be more competant in other areas. The women who display their breasts on a regular basis tend not to be. So when a woman has obvious, promintently large breasts, men have been conditioned to assume she is not competant. If more competent women wore tube-tops, this might not be a problem.

Please, think of the next generation of women. Wear tube tops.

This is a movement I can get behind.

Or in front of. Either way.

Morrolan for president!

One thing I know to be true is that if a woman finds a man attractive, he never seems to 'gawk', no matter how intent his interest. The line between sexual harassment and flirting for most women is her reciprocal interest. I don't see anything wrong with that, but it can make it confusing for our poor, boobie-preoccupied brains.

Well, sexual harassment is often defined (at least partially) as "unwanted advances", so reciprocal interest would define whether an advance is unwanted or not.

Oh please, no. My mom used to wear tube tops. *shudder*
