Epic Combo

Section:

Epic Combo is like an evil, reverse Lemmings. Instead of trying to save tiny, helpless creatures from certain doom, you’re trying to setup an arena where you can score a 10,000-hit combo against them. In this case, the tiny creatures are turtles and also happen to bounce if you hit them hard enough.

But the arena itself is just a bare room, with a pipe ejecting turtles at one end and a turtle exit at the other. The secret is to spend your money from successful combo hits to buy traps such as buzzsaws, explosive mines and laser sentries. These can be combined to send turtles flying and bouncing around the room after your initial strike with a hammer.

Epic Combo is a fun little exercise in creating controlled explosions, which is why it’s such a fun little Flash game. It also shows a fun example for the Lemmings genre: Instead of carefully guiding them across pitfalls and puzzles, you instead carefully plot the trajectory of their explosion. As a fan of explosions, I heartily approve.

Why You Should Check this Out: Epic Combo is a fun, simple game of controlled mayhem and carefully placed traps. Tons of tiny little turtles all bouncing around the screen, all triggered by your character swinging a comically oversized mallet, are very satisfying. A quick little diversion to brighten your Friday morning.

Indeed.

Sheer hilarity. Takes a little while to build up, but it's only a matter of time.

The winning screen is funny.

As soon as I saw the title I knew it was going to come from Armor Games. Stupid fun!

So mines been going for about 8 hours now.

Yeah, not all that hard to make an infinite one.

Oh, you meant "mine's," the contraction, not "mines," the hidden explosives.

That was fun! I love the slow-mo hammer smash.

Confirmed, games are art.

Meh

Damn this game, I am hooked on breaking the unlimited high score.

Cute... but gets boring fast.

What does this dude have against turtles?

He says in the description, "Nothing against turtles, I really like them." My guess is he's more a fan of the way turtle shells bounce around in Mario games.

This is a sickness. I let it run last night at work, built up almost $4 billion and then covered the floor with jumps and proxy mines. All my pipes are level 200.

I'm going to let this run over the weekend.
