2 hours to kill and still deciding on a Wii?

I had the chance to try the Wii last friday at the festival Arcadia.
With Excite Truck it takes me around one lap to get use of the control.
After you get how sensitive it is, it feel more natural.
Mr. Green will said that i've been lucky cause i've finish at the first position

I've try one Rayman mini game, it's an on rail shooter like house of the dead but
instead of evil zombies, it was the evil rabbits on a beach. Seems to be a fun coop game.
Probably girlfriend friendly, i hope!

I try Zelda too, but the sword was not found when i play the demo
At least, i try the slingshot, the aiming seems to work well, at first i got
the "please point at the screen" message.

I can't wait next sunday.

Luck has nothing to do with it. Nintendo reps have an eye for true Nintendo fanboys so as soon as he saw you pick up the controller he turned down the skill level. Come on man, you really think it's a coincidence you won that fruity Nintendo Belt? Pfffffffffffffffffffffffffffft!

And I did find the god damn sword in the whole 3 minutes I had to play Zelda, just before the &/$"/$ took the wiimote from my hands. At least the guy after me got to try it.

There are a handful of games I think we'll be getting within the launch window, apart from Zelda.

Elebits looks fun, and I know Kat was interested. I'm not sure if it will be out at launch, or just sometime in the next month or early next year.

I would probably enjoy Excite Truck, but it looks ideal for multiplayer so I'll probably hold off until Smash Brothers when I pick up some extra controllers.

The Rayman game looks awesome - I haven't played a solid platformer in a while, and I hope this one holds up to a nice high standard.

I'll probably play the hell out of Wii Sports too, especially Tennis. Always did inexplicably like Tennis games

I'm a little disappointed by the Tony Hawk game - I was hoping for something a little more classic TH. I guess I can also play #3 with the backwards compatability. Maybe a new one will come out down the line. One can always hope.

Is the new Rayman a platformer? I thought it was like Mario Party.

Jealous!

Probably she see you trying to climb the ladder and said to herself "If he's not able to climb a ladder, he'll not be able to handle a sword"

I don't want to deceive you but i don't think it's a platformer. It seem to be a bounch of mini game build around a story.
But it still looks awesome.

Edit: Oups! Danjo already said it!

Foiled again! I've been mislead by previews and video clips, unfortunately. Ah well.
I will have to be content with Zelda for my action-platforming for now.

Link can jump?

I can climb ladders just fine... with a real controller damnit!

I have played a lot of Excitetruck and once you get used to it, it's a blast. There is a lot of things to do within the game and the trucks go really fast and get a lot of air.

That was the impression that I got, Ulairi. It reminds me a lot of Burnout, except with Trucks, the outdoors, and überspringen. Count me in.

Also, I got the impression that Monkey Ball rules. I hope my neighbors pick that up as well.

I'm getting Zelda, Excite Truck, Monkey Ball, Trauma Center, Red Steel, and Metal Slug. I think that's a good launch. I'm a little unsure about Red Steel but if the story is good, I think I'll be happy with it. I know it won't control like a PC FPS or a standard console FPS but I'm ok with that.

Excite Truck got a 6.8 at Gamespot. The game is apparently quite fun, but there's just not much there in terms of content. One of the other reviews came to the same conclusion, while another likens it to the great arcade racers of yesterday.

I took an objective look at a Wii purchase last night and I decided I will be waiting. I looked at what games I already own, what games I want for my PC+360+DS Lite, my HDTV budget, etc. and decided the Wii is not worth it right now. I would regret getting a Wii for one quality title at launch: Zelda (just my opinion).

I am going to get a 50in HDTV first and then get a Wii next year when the price drops (take out Wii sports please), Mario is released, Wii online is up and running, and all the known hardware issues have surfaced.

I am definitely jealous of all the people who will be playing Zelda this Sunday.

Man... that 2hour video almost has me sold on the Wii. I've been dying to get an X360 but my wife's been making hints that she'd like to have a Wii for the new Zelda. I'd rather buy something we can both enjoy together rather than something that's a bit more expensive, semi-requires a HDTV and that I'm only going to be able to play late at night (I'm not playing Gears when my son's awake). I think Zelda and Trauma Center would be my first two picks with Monkey Ball or Madden 07 Wii as my fallback titles. The only downside is that I have to waste a game purchase on a second Wiimote & nunchuk for her. Decisions, decisions....

Also, does anyone know just how compatible the Gamecube's Wavebird is with the Wii? I'd rather not buy the Classic Controller to play all of the Virtual Console game if my Wavebirds will work as well.

And I think they said it in that video that they aren't compatible but is there anyway I might be able to use my Gamecube's S-Video cable with the Wii? That's another $20 I'd rather not waste for an accessory I've bought too many times.

Haven't they been saying that Gamecube controllers work with the Wii? The Wavebird shouldn't be a special case...

I know I'm picking up a Wii; I have no idea what games to get. I'm thinking about ExciteTruck, either Super Monkey Ball or Rayman for the minigames, and maybe Madden. ( I'll probably pass on Zelda; I'm just not that big into RPGs, as it turns out. Maybe I'll get suckered in if everyone else loves it, but... )

Is no one else looking at Madden? Am I the only one? Am I missing some vital piece of 'it sucks' information?

Eh, unless I hear something crazy cool about it, I see no reason. I think those that play sports games are kinda quiet about it, for fear of seeming un-gamerly. That, or maybe they're less insecure, and therefore feel less need to bludgeon others into liking what they like

I'm definitely going for Zelda, and from what people are saying I'll probably check out Excitetruck and/or Monkeyball. Monkeyball is more likely, but we'll see.

It isn't a special case, the receiver from the Wavebird will fit in the Wii's controller port.

From what I've read the GC controllers will work with all VC games except for Genesis games. Here's a link to Ecco, it says that it will only work with the classis conroller.
