Two copies of a fun game, like Chromehounds, is one thing... but Madden? Jesus, man!

Next you are going to say that you buy a new copy of the game every damn year or something...

I think I'll probably wait a day or two before running off to futureshop to getting Saint's Row..Though it is possible that getting back in to WOW will save me money in the end by keeping me away from the store.

Or is it? Looks like Futureshop has it in stock. What the ?

The local Best Buy had it in stock this morning, and that never happens (but then a commercial I saw last night claimed it was "in stores now").

Gametrailers has some great videos for the game, including a good review and some guides for side activities which show off the 'other' stuff to do in the game nicely.

There's some user vids too that might be interesting, like the vehicle customization.

Haha, that's what I thought, but it's not working. If anything, I bought it to get me away from that damned timesink!

Also worth noting: I WAS CARDED. By a kid who didn't look old enough to even play the game.

Dude, I was carded to go see Sin City when it came out. I was 28 or 29 at the time.

I was carded when purchasing Dead Rising a few weeks ago. First time ever carded purchasing a video game.

Okay, so is anyone interested in starting a Goodjer gang in Saint's Row? I know you can form gangs and once you earn enough money you can get gear that matches and all kinds of fun stuff.

Sure. East siyeeeede!

Just bought it.
The GF is watching Spongebob Squarepants and I want to gouge my brain out with a spoon.
And I have to work tomorrow. And all I want to do is Defraud some Insurance Schmo by hurting the little man on the screen. Pity me!

I think our gang name should be Playas doin' da Bizniz.

Caucasian, all sliders to minimum. HIDEOUS! This.... is a broken person. My girlfriend nearly died laughing as my creation was born. It's difficult to look at. Also, remember that hitting the Green button on a category will reveal more sliders for some categories. *shudder* Creeeeepy.

Ooooh. Strike One against this game.
I was running around aimlessly, stealing cars and going as fast as I could in one direction, trying to find my limits. When an unplanned stop in a canal after flying off of an onramp left me by an abandoned factory type thingy.
I was running through row after row of semi-trailers, wondering if there would be anything for me to interact with when I noticed an open door.
Inside was what appears to me to be an abandoned Meth Lab. Abandoned mid process. Boxes and Boxes of material just sitting there. Unguarded. Literally not a single person within a quarter mile radius.
At least post a token guard or something... if I come back later on some sort of mission and find the place CRAWLING... I'll be really disappointed.

More impressions as I play....
And yes Lobster, there are Dreadlocks, about shoulder length fat dreads.

I think I'm too white to join that gang. I would get kicked out immediately.

If there is a 20 player limit to Saint's Rows gangs I'm going to scream.

To all of you on the fence, I hate to say it.. but this game is a sh*tload of fun. Considering I was burned out on GTA long ago, this is a true next-gen incarnation. The framerate could be a bit better, but overall the thing is slick. And some of the GTA annoyances like not being able to save anywhere, losing your weapons when you get busted - fixed. Plus, the mini-map is awesome the way the NAV points work.

LOTS of swearing though, tuck the kids into bed. Within 2 seconds I heard one gang member say "Hey, b!tch, wanna give me head!" and then some girl in a parked car said "Hey, who do I have to give head to to get this traffic moving!" Yeah.

What's this about a "Gamercard" discount at Best Buy?

Instant 5 dollars off. And its nothing sneaky either, just requires you go through line twice. Ballsy folks buy the card and then immediately buy the game while at the same register. I go outside once.

As a professional retail stooge, I salute you. This is something Best Buy should be promoting to get us smart gamers to shop there. Thanks for the tip.

Game completely rocks, I'm having a blast.

Also MAD KUDOS to Volition for being the first developer to completely rip off Halo 2's matchmaking system. THANK THE GODS, all devs please take note.

Ripping off GTA3 AND Halo 2. We get some campy cut-scenes in there and I'd say they'll have Metal Gear Solid cover ... wait a minute. Yes! We have a trifecta!

The multiplayer comments are meant without sarcasm, Halo 2's matchmaking system was freaking awesome and it's crazy that nobody else copied it yet.

While my comments do smack of sarcasm, they are not meant as shots against the game. I've been enjoying it (so far) and they've obviously decided to take the best elements from all sorts of games to create this one. Suits me fine.

Stop saying such good things about this game. It is getting really hard to try and resist going out to get it at lunch.

Could someone tell me the max amount of players that can be in one online game?

*plugs ears*

It's on the way from gamefly, no need to buy it this afternoon, la la la la la.....

Damn you Gamefly for not having more copies of the game. I have two games out right now and Saints Row has a 'short wait'. I'm really drooling to get my hands on this game but would rather buy it with my Gamefly discount then pay the $60.

You can order it from Outpost.com for $50 with free shipping.

Sweet!! Thanks for the info.

Did anyone confirm whether there is going to be an official GWJ Saint's Row clan/gang? If so, I definitely like to get aboard when I get the game in a few days!! My email is [email protected] so keep me in the loop.

Teehee! I've unlocked my first 'hideout.'
Awesome Feature: Parking a car in your garage adds it to a list. I can 'recall' any car in my list from the front of a one car garage! That means the Ambulance, Five-O, Quota, and 12 other cars are parked in my 'Garage of Holding.'
Annoyance: I found a huge graphical glitch, though I haven't been back to that area to see if it is a constant thing or a one timer. On the terrace by the CupOCoffee or something like that, looking out to the building across the street makes street level surfaces disappear. So people are walking on nothing, I can see the bottom clipping planes. Walking back and forth will cause the graphic to flash on and off. Different angles produced different levels of glitch. The annoying thing was that this wasn't three four blocks down... this was just across the street. Again, this could just have been a one shot thing, as I familiarize myself with the town I'll try to find that place again.

Aren't we to the point where pop-in is unacceptable? Aren't there ways to 'cheat' to prevent sections of buildings loading and unloading as I drive back and forth?

Has anyone found any area that is 'off-limits?' By that I mean, I was driving up and down the landing strip at the airport, finding ramps and such, and I just kept driving through the fence with the concrete blocks behind them and no one cared. I jumped the fence in front of a cop and stole a firetruck which I then used to run him over. Until my bumper kissed his back there was no reaction from anyone that I had just violated the security of this airport.

There are unclimbable fences. It isn't always clear which fences can't be climbed.

Fences break like paper if you hit them. I don't know who puts these things up, but they should look into some higher gauge wire or something.

Getting hit by cars is FUN! Playing Frogger on a four lane road produced some incredible rolls, flips, and scrapes. And this was without playing the mini-game!

Regenerating health is AWESOME!

At first the camera feels a little stiff, but once you realize that it's because they mostly leave the control to you, things get better!

Fun. Lots of Fun. I actually took Chromehounds out of my drive this morning to play for a little while.

Where the demo unlocked the 'homie,' the full game also unlocks a 'gunner chick' or something like that. I haven't called her up yet, but from the image it looks to be a female 'homie' that acts as your gunner. Then again, the Snatch Activity wasn't what I was expecting either so I could be way off base here.

Lots of fun. Pretty. A few glitches just like ALL games of this scope so far. Sometimes you can watch the textures 'pop' in as you're driving around. BUT, you should be having so much fun driving around that you really have to be looking for it to have it detract from your fun.

I'll be sandboxing with this thing for a little while longer before taking up the actual missions I think.
One thing I need to find out because my GTA 'sense' is constantly making me find that corner where someone would squirrel away that random weapon: Are there 'collectibles?' And can you 'find' weapons/items. I've found a couple of 'CDs' which the game tells me will unlock songs. Is there an equivalent for weapons?

If we create a GWJ gang, do we end up roleplaying being 'Gangsta'. I dont think i have acquired the right vocabulary. Maybe I could just come up with 5 key phrases or so that cover every situation.. Kinda like that old MMORPG 'bot' joke.
