Since launching Gamers With Jobs Radio five years ago we've been treated to some amazing music by Ian Dorsch. His tunes have been a staple of the GWJ podcasts and had a big hand in defining them long before even we knew what they were all about. Lucky for us, we finally have a way to give back to Ian in thanks for all the excellent work he's done for the show and the community. His company, Willow Tree Audioworks, has released some of the very best tracks he's laid down over the years along with an extended version of our newest opening song.
A note from Ian: It is fitting that my first release via this site should be a compilation of music from Gamers With Jobs podcasts. When I began to work with Russ Pitts on GWJ Radio, I had largely forgotten what it was like to make music for fun. In a significant way, collaborating with Russ and Shawn and interacting with the fantastic community at GWJ helped me to rediscover why I became a musician in the first place. Thanks, guys. This is for you.
My personal favorite has got to be "Podunk Stomp" by a landslide. No man, woman or child can listen to it and not want to leave all their earthly possessions behind, move into the woods and bang rocks together all day. Do yourself a favor, hit the website and download the album Ian has put together for the community. In return for this musical bounty, please donate whatever you can afford so he knows we love him and he'll continue to rock our faces off for years to come.

Aw, thanks man!
I hope you guys dig the release. Much of the material has been previously available, but never in a really good quality format, and I think you'll also enjoy the full version of the new Conference Call Theme. My good friend Richard Chambliss laid down a couple of shredding guest solos, and the end result is some truly gratuitous guitar heroism.
If you have trouble downloading via the direct link, I've uploaded the wav and mp3 zip archives to Mediafire. Those links are on the page as well.
Enjoy!
Very awesome to see this posted, thanks Podunk! I wish I could afford to donate something for your efforts but once I am able, I surely will. That album cover, pure fanboi bias though!

Glad I could throw a few bones your way as part of the deal.

Woo! I know what I'm downloading when I get home from work.
I'll probably also grab this if it doesn't slow down my connection too much.

Wow, that xylophone track takes me back! 2005 was it? I remember Fletcher's dulcet tones wafting through my chunky mp3 player that could only hold 10 songs and one GWJ Radio show.

Damn, that really is some killer guitar shredding on the back end of GWJ2010. Now how the hell am I supposed to go to work tomorrow what with my face melted like this?!

GWJ Conference Call Theme fit my mood perfectly today. Cranking it up and spreading the word. Awesome work!
Now excuse me, I have to get back to getting my groove on.

Man some of those songs just take me back, and I can not get enough of the new GWJ Theme. Fantastic!

Anyone else have a problem with the .wav version of track 4 Podpunk Stomp, not playing in Windows Media Player? Keeps giving me a codec error, the mp3 version works fine.

Props for putting out both mp3 and wav files. Mp3 for work, wav to burn. Awesome.
And thanks!

I'm having trouble with the Wav file and the mp3 for Podunk Stomp. The earlier songs worked fine.
Edit - NM, MP3 version works fine.

For a non-musical person like myself, I was surprised to see it all available in WAV format too. Is there a musical advantage to WAV? Do folks rip CD's to WAV?
So what kind of kickback does the Mothership get for this, anyway? (D/Ling now. :))
If you rule like Megatron, you're going to raise Starscream.
I don't know about musical advantage to wav, but there's definitely a sound quality advantage over mp3's.
And as always, nice work Podunk. Thanks for releasing it all!
I'll try to scrounge some pennies together for a donation.

Generally, no. Wav is an uncompressed file format and while 0 quality (a la 320kbps) mp3 files are pretty darn good sounding, FLAC and other types of lossless audio formats are preferred over Wav because they're about half the size of the original Wav file while preserving the full, actual sound of the music.
I'm happy for the Wav files so I can burn a "true" cd. I don't burn cds from mp3s, even if they are a 0 quality rip. They just don't sound as good to me. And yes, I'm picky.

If you mean GWJ, absolutely nothing. We're not going to horn in on Podunk's well deserved cashola. We're just excited to get to work with him.

Thanks so much, guys. I don't know what's up with the wav version of Podunk Stomp. That one came right out of my archives, and it's exported from an older version of my audio editor, so there are any number of things that might be screwy with it. I'll try and troubleshoot it later today and get another version uploaded.
Edit: it's a 24-bit wav, I apparently forgot to dither it down to 16 bit. So if your audio hardware can run 24-bit audio, it's a feature, not a bug!
I'll fix it ASAP.
Okay, grab the 16-bit wav of Podunk Stomp here:

I'll get the zip archives repacked and uploaded shortly.
Just downloaded and listened. Great tracks, Podunk! My favorites are GWJ2010, the More Cowbell mix, the Angry German Guy mix, and of course Podunk Stomp. I love how it starts out nice and mellow, then punches you in the mouth with that awesome, thick-sounding riff.
Donation sent! Have a couple well-deserved beers on me, sir.
