Problem with new graphics card

It began ever since I switched from the old Radeon 9600. While there seems to be no problem while I surf the web or watch videos, whenever I'm playing games, occasionally the screen would turn black for half a second and come back to normal. This happens about every 15 minutes, not often enough to severely disrupt gameplay, but can be damaging at important moments in competitive play.

Has anyone experienced similar problem?

It is a Geforce 6200 OC from BFG. AGP

You may have some residual driver gunk left over from your ATI drivers that could be causing you problems. You might try running some type of driver cleaner program. Try looking at Guru3d.com for the program, they should have it, I'd link it for you but I'm at work and they are blocked.

Try going to BIOS, turning off AGP Fast Writes, and dialing down AGP speed from 8x to 4x. You will notice no performance difference but it may eliminate weird quirks like the one you describe.

I believe BFG has a lifetime unlimited warranty, I'd start there.

I had a similar problem with a Radeon 9800 and my Dell 24 inch LCD. Well, kinda similar.
What sort of monitor are you connecting to? Are you using VGA or DVI cables?
I resolved my issue by saying "Screw this" and buying a Geforce 6600 OC BFG card and have lived happily ever after (damn AGP motherboard. )

I had a thread about it a while back... maybe it still exists. The tequila tells me not to care.

So does the crap search function, which has failed me twice tonight already.
