When I told you to save your pennies I wasn't kidding! This week will see the release of Champions of Norrath, Spell Force, Wrath Unleashed and more. It was a tough to choose a title to be game of the week but in the end I decided that a Final Fantasy game on the Gamecube was worth crowing about. Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles will ship today for $49.99 exclusively on the Gamecube. Please note that you cannot play the game multiplayer without a GBA and a link cable for each player! Reviews would indicate that it's an excellent experience if you can manage it but I expect many of you will be left out in the cold.

Looks like Angel season three is out this week on DVD! That was quick...The Games

Champions of Norrath: Realms of Everquest
Platform: PS2
Ships: Feb 10th
Price: $49.99

The Buzz: Made by the original team behind Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance and using an upgraded version of the engine this looks to be a winner. Online play, hundreds of items and randomly generated dungeons sounds like a lot of playing time to me!

Nightshade
Platform: PS2
Ships: Feb 10th
Price: $39.99

The Buzz: A sequel to Shinobi, this time starring a female ninja. Reviews would indicate that this is more of the same. Same problems, same gameplay.

Lupin the Third: Treasure of the Sorcerer King
Platform: PS2
Ships: Feb 10th
Price: $49.99

The Buzz: A stealth action/adventure game with a sense of humor. Reviews have been solid although not stellar.

Two Thrones
Platform: PC
Ships: Feb 10th
Price: $19.99

The Buzz: Another budget strategy game from Strategy First. Looks like a conquest board game, could be fun.

Championship Pool 2004
Platform: PC
Ships: Feb 10th
Price: $29.99

The Buzz: The last pool game I can recall playing was Virtual Pool way back in the day.

Spell Force
Platform: PC
Ships: Feb 10th
Price: $49.99

The Buzz: A 3D strategy RPG that has received some good reviews overseas. Keep an eye on this one!

Silent Scope Complete
Platform: Xbox
Ships: Feb 10th
Price: $39.99

The Buzz: Silent Scope 1, 2 and 3 all in one package with full light gun support. I know Pelican is releasing (or has released) a light gun for the game specifically but any light gun should work! I'll admit, I'm tempted to get it.

Unreal II: The Awakening
Platform: Xbox
Ships: Feb 10th
Price: $39.99

The Buzz: An Xbox port of an average PC shooter, I wouldn't bother.

Wrath Unleashed
Platforms: Xbox, PS2
Ships: Feb 10th
Price: $49.99

The Buzz: A simple table top strategy game mixed with up close and personal Street Fighter style fighting. Reviews have been all over the place with this one. Tread carefully.

~looks and sees he doesn't own a console anymore~ "oh well, nothing to buy"

You could mention the UT 2004 demo is being released either today, tomorrow, or the next day for us primarily PC playing folks

I had SpellForce a month ago I think... Looks prety good and reminds me of Once Upon a Knight, except there is not so much humor, at least not in the tutorial part... Nice games, both of them. RPG/RTS mix.

You forgot to mention voice chat on Champions of Norrath, which is one of the major reasons I'm buying it.

Also if you want any more proof Eisner should be shot, go rent Lion King 1 1/2. Everything I've seen about that movie has just solidified my belief that his death would be both justified and delicious.

Doesn't Metroid: Zero Mission also ship this week?

It does indeed, as does Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance for the GBA!

Make way for teh AWESOME!

Everything I've read about the Pelican light gun says it's awesome. $50 is kind of expensive though for when there are only two games (Silent Scope and House of the Dead).

BG: DA on GBA? I hadn't heard that!

hey Flux, know anyone else with a GBA? If we could get 4 people I would pick up FF:CC...

I was about to email you and see if you were picking it up I don't know anyone else with a GBA.

$140 dollar week for me then..

Champions of Norrath
FF:CC
Metroid Zero

Unfortunately, that looks VERY similar to my cash outlay for the week. Blarg! And it gets better! I'm going to the beach tomorrow, BEFORE metroid Zero shows up in stores! So I won't even have my copy while on vacation!

I like how you guys include games in your budget but not food.

Looking forward towards my preordered copy of FF:CC. However I am going to hate these GBA cables snaking to our GC. This is stupid that you have to sit 6' close to the TV if you're playing using GBA-GC link cable. If only Nintendo (or whoever) made a wireless Wavebird-like link for that.

Uh Baldur's Gate is already out on the GBA, I am actually playing it right now...

So, how is it?

Well you see, that's how I solved the problem of my used game stacks. I just eat them.

I'm sorry, but that FF:CC multiplayer thing is just sad. It's like only being able to play a game during a planetary alignment.
