Going From 50-60

Hey guys, just recently we've had a bunch of people get into the early 50's, so I was wondering if we want to set something up where we start doing instances or running quests to speed up the levelleing between 50 to 60. I know that every time I do guild groups, we manage to get a full instance done (unless the server drops us, and me to a horrible lost corpse death) and we have a pretty good time.

Time constraints limit us all to when we get on, but maybe we could do a regular day, like a Mon or Tues where people know that they can hop on and something is always going on. This is a no pressure suggestion, but I have a lot more fun with guild groups than PUG where I'm not sure how long someone has to play or don't know when they'll decide they've had enough and ditch.

Tonight a bunch of us are going to try Sunken Temple again, and if anyone feels like trying this out, send some whispers out to the 50's on and see if something catches. Start time is tentatively around 9 CST, all those who want to help would be appreciated, and hopefully if this sticks we'll be running guild end game raids by the end of March.

BTW thanks again for all those who helped out last night at Maraudon and ST! Was a blast and no wipes!

In case people aren't very familiar with the Alterac Valley battleground, once you hit 51 you are eligible to go and there's a quest that can net you a very nice weapon: a x-bow (32.3 dps, +7 agi/+8 str), polearm (53.9 dps, +21 agi/+13 str/+20 stam), wand (64 dps, +16 frost damage), or 1H mace (41.4 dps, +5 stam/+9 int, 3 mana/sec, level 58 required). The rewards can all be viewed here.

The quest is obtained from an npc outside the cave that houses the AV entrance portal in the Alterac Mountains. When facing the cave, he is to the right. The quest asks that you kill the Horde General, and the weapon choices are not listed initially. Once you have turned in the quest you will be able to choose the weapon of your choice. Basically Alliance has to win the BG for you to complete the quest.

Edit: Just noticed that the 1H mace has a level 58 requirement. As far as I know, the other choices don't have one--my hunter was using the x-bow at 51.

If you want level quickly, stay out of the instances. While it's true that they're the land of shiny prizes, they're also the land of bad xp / hour. I'm also going to recommend going to AV asap. If you can loot an opposing tauren / troll / orc, you can turn in a race specific item off each to NPCs in the alliance camp of AV. The first time you do that you get ~6600xp from each. So 3 kills can net you about 20k xp, which is almost impossible to beat. Those dirty walking corpses can also be killed, but the turn in NPC for that is usually dead within minutes of the battleground's first shot, so actually getting credit is problematic.

You can't kill the Forsaken. You can only re-kill them. Also, that's what you get for being an Elf.
