Before we get started I just want to thank everyone for their entries to the Haiku contest! I'll be compiling them and sending them off to the judges without any user names attached to we don't have to worry about any bias. Sorry Fang, those cookies you sent me were a delicious practice in futility. Looks like we have a few actual games coming out this week, something from Star Trek I've never heard of and Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel among others. For lack of a better choice, Fallout: BOS is our game of the week! Shipping on Tuesday, it will cost $49.99 and see release on both the Xbox and PS2.

On the DVD front we have the first season of Curb Your Enthusiasm, Freddy vs. Jason (good fun) and The Wiggles: Top of the Tots! From now on, Elysiums new name is Wiggles. The REST of the Games

Star Trek: Shattered Universe
Platform: PS2, Xbox

The Buzz: The screen shots make it look like a cheap, dirty version of Rogue Squadron. That's all I know about it.

.hack Part 4: Quarantine

The Buzz: Are people still paying for this series? I haven't tried it myself but this is already part four at full price!

The Buzz: Another "Street" game ready for action. The basketball titles were good so there's always hope. At least the Packers have time to play it now.. *sniffle*

Vietcong: Fist Alpha
Platform: PC
Ships: Jan 15th
Price: $19.99

The Buzz: Despite what the title sounds like, this is not a porn game. This is a mission pack for the stellar Vietcong game.

World Champion Pool 2004

Price: $29.99

The Buzz: Don't know much anything about it but PC pool games can be pretty fun.

Vietcong: Purple Haze

The Buzz: A mission pack and this is released this week. I would assume this is more of a full expansion but I'm not 100% clear on how that works.

Shattered Universe is supposed to feature Captain Sulu thrust into that alternate world where everyone is evil with a goatee.

Is it just me, or do the Wiggles seem like some sort of evil brain-washing group, in an attempt to take over the world in James Bondian fashion?

Is anyone actually getting the Fallout game?

Yeah the Wiggles are pretty freaky. My son is addicted to them and we don't even get their TV show!

Sometimes they just seem too into what they are doing. Like they don't even realize it isn't real. Creeps me out man...

I love it how the Fallout: BoS box doesn't even have Powered Armor and the Fallout logo/name is so tiny that you can barely see it. It looks like they are trying to pretend it's a game based on a post-apocalyptic Vin Diesel movie.

Yes, the Wiggles give me the creeps. Modern kid's show hosts are bad enough without there having to be a group of them. For example, Barney = Scary, Teletubbies = Mind-Altering Demons. Though Wiggles is a great name for a sidekick.

I forgot the obligatory "They killed Fallout 3, You Bastards!" comment. I'm not even going to rent it, even if it's good.

Same here, I'm not willing to even look at BOS! Due to what happened to BIS...

At least the Wiggles are just regular infantile guys who play real instruments. It's definitely a step up from the Loboto-Barney school of "Ok kids, let's make sure you don't develop any emotional intelligence. Let's just smile and love each other"

Initial reviews/previews of F:BOS are pretty lukewarm..

SciFi BG:DA basically.

I think I'll rent it. Then I think I'll cry when I play and know that it's not really Fallout.

Sheesh! I can't take it anymore! They make DVD's for Freddy v. Jason and Beastmaster and Transylvania 6-5000 and they won't make a stinkin' DVD for The Champ?!?!??!?!?! ARGH!!!! I can't take it anymore. Somebody wake up champ!!!!

"I like ice cream, I like ice cream, how bout you, how bout you? Topped with chocolate syrrup, topped with chocolate syrrup, whipped cream too, whipped cream too!"

"One two, tie your shoe, three four, take off the floor, five six, don't play tricks, seven eight, clean your plate, nine ten, start over again!"

you are scaring me!

Perhaps F:BOS will be the stake in the heart of Interplay.
Then they may have to sell there assets to companies that will treat the properly.

Don't all these elements of Fallout:POS scream of Fallout lineage:

- soundtrack by Slipknot (obviously inspired by the '50s style music from the original Fallouts )

- in the future, everyone swears like they have Tourettes

ARGH!! I can't even joke about it anymore, it pisses me off so much!!

Maybe they'll pay homage to the original Fallout series by leaving in some showstopping bugs
