Xbox 360 Roll Call

Now that anyone who wants one can probably get one, let's get an idea of how many sports game players have a 360 and what kind of sports games you'll probably be into playing.

For me, I'll be into:

2KWhatever Hockey
Football (if it doesn't suck)
Winning Eleven Soccer
Golf (Come ooooooon Links!)

This should give us some idea as to whether or not a league (say a NHL 2K6 360 league) will be viable.

Oops.

I'll join any sports league that doesn't begin with f and end with ootball.

Ill be into any game that doesnt begin with EA and end in a fat guy

I have NBA and NHL 2k6. I'll definately be picking up Winning Eleven whenever they get around to the US release (always takes forever)

Im sure Ill also get MLB 2k6

Oh there's Bankshot Billiards too. If anyone wants to play that Im game.

I'll add you to my friends list PP, if you don't mind having non-pro gamers on it, that is.

I'm all for NHL2K6.

Question, though - is camera zoom still (ridiculously) a league-wide setting instead of a personal setting? Because to achieve the same width of view on my standard TV that I have on the Xbox version, I have to slide the slider down way low. If the league had that slider set in the middle, I wouldn't be able to see a damned thing.

I really, really wish there was a setting on the 360 to just letterbox games on a standard TV. I'd happily give up some screen real estate in order to not have a damn cropped picture. I'm definitely going to save some money towards a small HD set, though maybe I'll get a VGA adapter to hold me over until then.

I got Madden coming for my 360 via Gamefly so I can check it out.

Otherwise I am down with 2K6 Baseball when that comes out and whenever they bring a new Links to the table for the 360. I may even look at Top Spin 2. I might breakdown and get Bankshot Billiards.

Here's another question: Who's got PGR3?

I'm in for 2K6. And Legion yes, supposedly the camera settings are independent for each player. That's a big yahoo in my book.

I'm in for football.

Yeah, I said it.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't Madden 360 not even allow for leagues? Which means somebody would have to set up and coordinate everything.... eeeewww. I could be pursuaded into joining a hockey league. 2ksports games for the 360 are also 20 bucks right? Nyuk nyuk nyuk.

You a funny man! Walk into my slappy hand.

I think we need to have our codemonkeys design an automation for any/all sports games. Then we can play independent of silly proprietary leagues!

Holy crap. I got the VGA cable and played NHL2K6 on my little 17" LCD monitor. Sheeit! It looks like a completely different game. As if there are totally different art assets being used.
Amazing. Now I'm going to have a real hard time playing it on my regular TV.

What a great idea this thread is! Truly, Teh Certis is an inspired one.

I will play NHL 2k6 on 360 and on regular. I prefer the 360, and I don't mind running the league.

I'll be getting MLB2k6 360 for sure. Hopefully we can get 8 or 10 of you guys to play in a league. Fags. There, I said it. You can't get a hit every time at bat so you don't like one of my favorite games? Fags.

Links 360.

Any football game. I have Madden and have not cut the shrink wrap. I may trade it in and get $26 for it. But if you guys were to do a league I'd be in.

I have PGR, it's great.

I'll be playing in regular X-Box leagues as long as there are guys to play.

I've got NHL2k6 on the 360 and would be down with that. I played the Madden demo and was more impressed than I expected to be, but I haven't pulled the trigger to buy it yet.

I'll be into Golf as well. I'm assuming Tiger on the 360 isn't worth looking into?

FRom what I have heard, that is correct.

Madden is neat, but not all the functionality is fleshed out. The more I play it, the happier I am in the direction that the on-the-field gameplay is going (the "scramble and fling it" gameplay of just a couple of years ago is almost completely stamped out, and the running game improves with each iteration). It's as if the more realistic the game looks, the more realistic they have to make the game play so that it doesn't look completely ridiculous. Works for me, whatever it takes to get there.

I'm playing my copy with the expectation of Madden 2007 being the next rallying point of online football games. I'll be ready to roll.

Whoa a double post. How embarrassing.

And a poorly-written double post, at that. Swampy's been hitting the swamp juice.

Ah, the optimism is so energizing. I must crush it.

To get this out of the way for the next four years:

I jest of course (or do I?). I just got my copy of Madden from Gamefly today and only played one game. The graphics look great. I still haven't decided on the game play yet.

I up for Madden,Tigerwoods or links when it comes out:)

Nope, sorry bud. Madden 2006 on the last-gen and next-gen consoles is a big improvement over the last few years. If they just keep polishing what they've got and give that gameplay in a full next-gen package, it's good to go.

I guess I'll open my copy. But I still hate on the EA.

BTW - I double tapped the post button. These things can happen. We live in an imperfect world.

Yup. And right now, we get to blame YOU for that

Just one of my many contributions to imperfection!

So... Looks like we have enough for at least an 8 player 360 NHL 2k6 league. Any volunteers for commissioner?

I'd like the Bruins, BTW. I realize that may come as a surprise to some of you.

OK, I opened Madden. The stadium looks great, the players look like sh*t. The gameplay is so weak compared to 2k5. I particularly like how after a tackle players fall flat on their backs and look as if they were shot in the spinal cord by a sniper.

The playcalling is worse than 2k, the way they force you too stare at the QB EVERY TIME he approaches the line instaed of sizing up the other team's formation...

Yuck. Just yuck. I'll keep my old xbox for as long as I can find people to play 2k5.

I'm playing Madden off and on on the 360. PGR3 is good fun as well but I've raced around 40 times and haven't breached 4th place.

The baseball games on the horizon will be more my speed.

The Fight Night demo looks promising as well.

Except you, Nei.
