Auditorium

Rarely have I seen such a delightful mix of precision puzzle-solving and musical craftsmanship.

Auditorium starts you off in the deep end of things. There's little in the way of an introduction and absolutely nothing resembling a tutorial to help you make sense of the goal. But that's part of the beauty of the experience: no hand-holding is required. As with most well-crafted time wasters, the basics are easy to grasp but mastery is a more demanding pursuit. Don't sweat it. You're guaranteed to have some fun along the way.

To say too much of the game would spoil the sense of discovery brought about by simply experimenting with the objects presented in each puzzle. Suffice to say that the musical reward for completing (or even exploring) a level is more than enough to motivate a player to put on his thinking cap and put the ol' gray matter to the test. It's almost Pavlovian in its elegance. For the visually inclined, there's a certain serenity to the swirling rays of colors that is equally fulfilling.

Stuck on 2:5. One thing, though: with the musical nature of the game, I found it incredibly odd that it skips onto the next level before I've really been allowed to enjoy the music I've created by solving the current level's puzzle. :\

Thanks!

I'll probably be picking it up in the next week or so.

I bumped this to let people know that the full version of the game is complete and is available starting tomorrow for the low price of $10.99. If you donated to the project when it was in beta, you'll be getting an email for a free redeem code. Anyone else should consider picking it up to support the devs, even if you just had your fill with the flash version already.

Hopefully they also get on Steam or Xbox Live at some point too for more exposure.

I purchased the full version of Auditorium today, and I'll admit that I'm a little bit disappointed. Everything that I loved about the demo is still there, but I've had a persistent error whereby the puzzle refuses to be solved. I'll have all of the music bars filled to the brim, and can hear all of the parts, for five solid minutes, and yet I won't be able to advance to the next round.

This was my solution to 3:4:

The bars are all filled, but after a few minutes the puzzle was still not marked as solved. Has anyone else played the full version and run into this problem?

Edit: Oddly enough, after posting this, I quit the game, restarted the level, and recreated my solution to the best of my ability. This time, it accepted the solution after a minute or so of letting the particles run.

Isn't that part of the new Pepsi design document?

Close, but it's not yet similar enough to Obama's campaign logo.

Unlike the demo, I think that you not only have to fill the bars, but the "pressure" on them has to be sustained for a few beats. I know in the demo I could scrape by with just a few particles hitting a target and kind give a weak, fluctuating tap to get it over the edge. This final version seems less forgiving.

Or it's a bug! Your image there looks pretty complete to me.

I have had some levels "stick" like this, but if I just tap one of the objects, maybe nudge it the slightest, it usually frees up.

I'm in 12 I think, and it just keeps getting better.

I figured out what the problem was. After the bars all fill up, the gauge isn't full until there's a faint white halo around it. In a sense, there's an eleventh bar that has to be filled. If you look at the image I posted, the red gauge in the middle doesn't have as strong of a halo as the red gauge on the left. Visually, I would have preferred a bar; the halo can be very difficult to see when all of the particles and tracers are in motion.

Is anyone playing the full version of this? If so, could someone give me a hint on 9:4? I'm completely stuck.
