I'm looking forward to the new league starting up. I've played 3 online games on Pro. I like the default settings as far as zoom and speeds. Pro seems a bit too easy in that you can get some goals that should have been stopped. I haven't played anything at All-Star yet, nor have I changed game type from "default" to "sim".
I'd be OK with the league at Pro / default at thios point, but I'll be playing a few online games at All-Star and will give my comparative analysis after that.
Anyone else messing with settings and thinking about the league?
I hate playing with the settings just for the hell of it. Since we probably have different preferences in everything we might as well stick with the defaults. It also makes practicing easier.
That was my opinion. Free of charge.
Anything that increases Green's and Certis' pain and misery is alright by me. Is there a setting that maximizes humiliation for our Northern, backward cousins?
I've barely had a chance to play it yet, so I have no opinion. I'm down for whatever, so long as Green isn't happy.
I was online last night looking for a pickup game Green.
Doh! I almost sent you an invite last night but decided not too when I saw you were playing MLB2K5.
No comments on the settings. The last hockey game I played was on my Sega Genesis so I'm much too green to add anything useful.
Last night was a great night for me - I won my 2 pickup hockey games, one in OT, and then I won my pickup baseball game against a good opponent (very tough to find for a pickup game) with 2 in the bottom of the 8th.
The end is near.
I'd be up for some Chaos Theory tonight Swampy, assuming I don't get called to play hockey. Look for me around 10 baby.
Until I examine more closely, I vote for All-Pro with mainly default settings.
And in a twist that will be ignored, I vote for no-touch icing.

I'd rather ram your face into the boards with a cross check in the neck as you touch the puck but maybe that's just me.
Yes, Green. You're the only one here that likes to ram guys from behind.
Should we toggle on "Momentum"? I say no, but I don't feel strongly about it.
I'd say no, as players, we have our own special kind of momentum, we don't need the game programming it in for us
Do NOT touch "momentum". It is the stupidest feature ever.
Have you tried it? The game's idea of momentum is that you have certain "controls" turned off when your momentum is low. Like, the ability to do poke checks or one-timers. There's a list to choose from. You turn off an opponent's control when your momentum is high, and they do it to you when yours is low. It's really ridiculous.
The "Sim" Option is deffinately the way to go
When Mr. Green kills you, can I have your stuff?
You can have my Air Supply LPs.
Those were what I was mainly wanting.
I'll take the Devils. When you guys decide when we can sign up.
One frustration I've had playing against the CPU is that, seemingly regardless of settings, the CPU's defensemen will be much more aggressive and effective at knocking an attacker off the puck than the player's defensemen left to the CPU's devices.
I find it hard not to scream at the TV when I watch one of my defenders watch an attacker skate right by him, while he continues to just cruise backwards. Turn your stupid Canadian ass around and SKATE!
Then I watch them just chill while the attacker pretty much goes wherever he wants. At one point tonight, I asked, "why don't you just invite him to dinner at the f*cking crease?"
So far, I haven't noticed this in online play, as I would expect the CPU defensemen to act equally on the part of each player. But damn, if anyone's playing the game against the CPU and has an idea as to how to make the defensemen to something other than, well, stand there, let me know! They're not pressing the attacker, and they're not really challenging the attackers very hard down low either.
You tried controlling them Legion? The A button will switch players and usually works pretty well.

I'm usually controlling a forward, because you see, on my team forwards play TWO WAY hockey. None of that p*ssy cherry pickin' stuff you like..
So let's start signups already!
I AM LOS ANGELES KINGS
Over-under for my virtual Roenick's next concussion? Real-life JR isn't even bothering to wait until the regular season to get started!
CF, you commissionering?
You must be out your mind, Female Doggo :). I believe I will pass on that honor this time through.

You mean the usurper won't be usurping?
Maybe I could do it.
Egad. He's going to turn on the frickin' lasers on their heads.
