NFL Week Two General Discussion Thread

Well, so far the only highlight that I've been able to see is the quick score by Philly over San Francisco (and honestly, who thought there'd be any doubt?). Stay tuned.

Peyton Manning has been completely shut down by Jacksonville. Jacksonville's missed a couple of scoring opportunities though.

There's a really good battle going on between New England and Carolina, perhaps lending some credence to this being a potential Super Bowl matchup. And the other headline of the afternoon/morning: Cullpepper and the Vikings' O are getting shut down once again. The Minnesota faithful must be getting more and more pissed about the Randy Moss deal.

Early scores:

New England 17, Carolina 27
Detroit 6, Chicago 38
Minnesota 8, Cincinnati 37
San Francisco 3, Philladelphia 42 (Notice a trend?)
Jacksonville 3, Indianapolis 10
Buffalo 3, Tampa Bay 19
Baltimore 10, Tennesse 25

How did the Raiders sneak into Patriots uniforms? Come on, 12 penalties? Insane.

The Bucs had 13 penalties, but managed to win. Mostly because their defense seems to think it's 2002.

3 points verse the Colts D? Does Tony finally have a defense?

How bad is Baltimore? I guess Wright wasn't the answer /sarcasm.

Cadillac is fracking amazing.

Oh, Oh, the Bucs have a run game...

Yeah, even I knew McNabb was going to do that.

What's not surprising me and shouldn't surprise anyone else is Daunte Culpepper's complete meltdown.

there's a rumor that Cadillac is injured. hopefully not or my fantasy season is tanked.

oh and Steelers Uber Alles. Bring it on, New England with your one-loss record.

Late scores:

St. Louis 17, Arizona 12
San Diego 17, Denver 20
Miami 7, J-E-T-S Jets, Jets, Jets 17
Cleveland 26, Green Bay 24

Push the panic button, Packers fans.

Good thing I'm not a Packers fan anymore. I told everyone hiring Mike Sherman was a slap in the face to fans.

Jax/Ind was a hell of a game. Can't wait for them to come play at ALLTELL.

The Jax/Ind game was hell.

Fixed it for ya. If I want to see 10 points of offense I will watch the Bucs.

Whoops! Forgot one:

Atlanta 18, Seattle 21

Watching a DOMINANT defense shut down Manning is not hell.

Watching iffy protection try and give Leftwich some time was, though.

If I want to see boring 100+ point games I'll watch the Lakers.

How premature would it be to predict a blow-out by Kansas City at this point? Heck, I'll put my manhood on the line, the Chiefs will wipe the floor with the Raiders.

Dude, I don't want your manhood.

As long as Moss and the KC RB twins score often i care not who wins!

Amazing the performance the Packers and Vikings put into the first 2 games - though the edge to the Packers of those two at the moment - and they're both still legitimate contenders to win the division. I have the say the NFC North is now the weakest division in football.

You know, earlier today I was wondering whatever happened to Sterling Sharpe and BAM, there he is.

For the love of Christ, why the frig is Vermiel sticking with Holmes? Put Johnson in for Chrissake!!!

And if I see one more sideline closeup of Randy Moss I'm gonna freaking hurl. Enough already.

If the man scores, Swamps... =( *

*For Holmes or Moss.

They've been doing it all night, though!

And Shannon Sharpe needs to learn that just because your being paid to be a commentator, you don't have to babble EVERY SECOND. I've got the sound muted most of the time.

He's nervous, dude. I don't think he's ever done play-by-play, if memory serves me right.

The one thing I liked was when he blew a call, he said something like " Hey, I'm new at this". But yeah, it shows. Not that I like much commentary anyways. Bring back Dennis Miller.

He hasn't said a word.

His brother Sterling, however....

You must not have NFL Network. I see him about 4 times a week on "Playbook".

Yeah, I always got them confused. Point stands, though.

Collins is not a good quaterback. If the Chiefs play like this next week in Denver, the Broncos will lay a whippin' on them.

"Randy Moss is a special player and this is a special situation. He needs to have his chance to be special and make a special catch for a touchdown. That would be special"

Thank you for bringing it all to life for me Sterling.
