Man Forced To Have Sex At Gunpoint

Life Imitates Penthouse Letters

Johannesburg: The hunt is on for three women who ambushed a 30-year-old man and forced him to have sex with them at gunpoint.

According to police spokeswoman Paula Nothnagel, a case of indecent assault had been opened and identity kits would be released soon. The man cannot be named because of the nature of the offence.

Nothnagel said that on Saturday night the man was walking through Roodepoort when the women pulled up next to him in their maroon BMW.

They asked him for directions to the Savoy Hotel and he got into the car to show them the way.

At the hotel the women persuaded him to join them for a drink, before asking him for directions to yet another hotel.

While on the road to the Station Hotel the women suddenly changed direction and drove to a dark and empty field near the Durban Deep mine.

"One woman produced a firearm and held the man at gunpoint," Nothnagel said.

"The women got undressed and all three took turns to have intercourse with him."

The man was then ordered back into the car and dropped off along Main Reef Road.

Nothnagel said the man then went home before opening a case at the local police station. The West Rand Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit is investigating. They suspect the women were all aged between 20 and 30.

Wow.

According to police spokeswoman Paula Nothnagel, a case of indecent assault had been opened

"Indecent assault"? Whiskey Tango Foxtrot?! If a guy pulls a gun on a woman and forces her to have sex... it's rape... but if it happens the other way around it's indecent assault?

I... am very confused.

Happened in South Africa so I'm assuming that's just their wording for Sexual Assault.

Did Mex take a little trip without telling his friends at GWJ?

Damn. Those must have been some ugly freaking women.

It is rape in my book too. But I did some quick googling and found that, according to this website, the difference between rape and indecent assault in South Africa is as follows:

South African News Org.'s Fact Sheet wrote:

According to Rape Crisis, the definition of rape used by our courts is: "Intentional, unlawful sexual intercourse with a woman or girl-child without her consent (sexual intercourse means the penetration of the vagina by the penis)... Rape therefore means sex without consent. Our law limits the definition of rape to penetration of the vagina by the penis. When a woman or girl is forced into sex that does not include sexual intercourse, the law describes this as indecent assault.

Note that the legal definition of rape in SA requires the intercourse to be with an unwilling female. Legally, men are not considered to ever be unwilling. So I guess the reason these women are being tried with "indecent assault" is because according to the law, they couldn't have raped him: they did not use their penises in violence against him. Thus they have to try the women with the 'lesser crime' of indecent assault (I was unable to find a strict legal definiton for that. My google-fu is strong, but not that strong. Plus, I was starting to get skivved out by some of the results matches).

Maybe this case will bring attention to the flaw in the law's language, and legislators might decide to reword it. Or not. Rape cases against men are very tricky, since there's so many pre-concieved notions going into the situation. Many people have a very hard time believing a man would ever be forced to have sex, an attitude I find can be just as backward and degrading as believing a woman 'asked' to be raped when she decided to wear a low cut top.

I am wondering how he managed to "perform" three times in a row at gunpoint. Talk about stress

I bet the porn industry is losing their minds trying to find this guy.

I doubt they had his orgasm in mind.

What was the crime again?

Yeah, really. I don't mean to sound stuffy or a kill-joy or anything, but nobody would be making these jokes if it were a woman in this situation. This is what I meant by pre-concieved notions.

I'm just wondering how he managed to satisfy all three, I have a rough time making one happy as it is.

Does any rapist really care about the sex? Rape is not about orgasm, really, it's about the domination, the humilation of their victim. That's where the satisfaction comes from. Katrina is right, if anyone made these comments about a woman who got gangbanged, they would be crucified.

Okay, I gotta stay out of this thread from now on, it's making me ill.

Um, sorry for the wise-crack just... I dunno... Sorry.

I used to live in Roodeport!

Look what you missed!

How is this news?
I get raped at gunpoint every April 15th!!

South Africa eh? Hmm if any of the three were HIV positive would this be intent to kill? Haven't they convicted HIV males in the US of the same thing?

Yeah, I laughed.

Sounds like a porn movie pilot. Man raped by three women? sh*t, when I was a teen I used to dream of that!

Are we sure he wasn't exagerating? Maybe he didn't want to admit that only one woman did it to him.

You used to dream of being raped? Are you sure you don't mean you just dreamt of having sex with three women? There's a huge difference. Rape != sex. Rape = crime of violence and subjugation, violation and humiliation. Not the stuff of fantasies.

I think I'm going to have to follow hoochie's lead and leave before I get too skivved out, too. Gah.

I'm not sure...

Hang on, this is not meant to be sexist, so try not to go there.

I'm not sure that anyone without testes can ever grasp why these jokes are being made or why most men will make them. I'm sure that there are thing that people who don't menstruate can't ever understand. Same thing, only different.

Keep an eye on, say, the Daily, the Tonight Show, David Letterman, etc. We're not the only ones that will kid about it, I'm sure. It's just different if you have testicles. Our extra chromosome makes us insane and insensitive. Or something.

Somebody ought to sig that.

You have room, Lobo.

I dunno man, it must be more of a psychological mindset thing... cuz this isn't funny to me either. My question was entirely legit because I was a little pissed that a rape might be treated as something other than a rape due to it being a guy involved...

But, honestly, all these jokes come off in really bad taste, and I'd like to think that at least the Daily Show would avoid this one... otherwise I'd have to stop watching it for a while.

Not sure why anybody would be surprised by the reaction here.

When we posted about female teachers having sex with underage male students the response was about the same.

Does seem like a very odd crime since it is very uncharacteristic of a woman to do such a thing let alone a gang of 3. It is obviously not about the sex not like 3 women could not find some willing chap to take on all 3.

Especially since it is quite obvious the man found at least one of these women - more likely all three, as I know having one hot girl and two ugly ones in a car would not be odds I would roll for - highly attractive enough to be willing to get in a car with them without knowing them at all, and then being persuaded to have drinks with them.

That amount of time he spent with them suggests he was up for some play with them - just not the sort of "play" he received. Who wants to do that sort of thing at a field? Next to a mine? Ick. Something suggests to me that there was more than just intercourse with these women. Right now, that's all he's willing to divulge of it, or all that is being divulged to the news.

I have no idea why I'm poking my head in here, especially since I'm only a casual poster, which means that any wrong word will stick in people's minds. Guess it's a good thing I did not grow up near minefields - the urge to go for a dance might have become overpowering ...

Hoochie, Katerin, I fully understand your positions and admire that you are this ready to let go of the preconcieved notions of power that make the concept of female rapists so difficult to grasp for many. One of my best (female) friends, an otherwise brilliant person, never managed to do this step.

What you see in here is however not in any way disrespectful of the victim, on the contrary; these jokes are a show of sympathy. Should your significant others ever injure themselves in some visible way (and, being men, they likely will, sooner or later), you might notice the often rude jokes they'll hear from some of their friends as an initial reaction. It took me painfully long to realize that this is what many do to show that they sympathize with you - that they put themselves into your position and really did not enjoy the idea. The joke, inappropriate though it may be, is simply a display of emotion, like the thousandfold applications we all find for "sh*t!".
The sexual component of this story only adds another layer, especially if one's own fancies go a bit into the kinkier directions. Keep in mind that there are women who get paid tidy sums on a daily basis to do to consenting men what happened to this one, including the humiliation.

This behaviour does not have so much to do with testes, by the way. The female friend I mentioned above adopts a very similiar line of stupid but heartfelt jokes towards one of her best friends - who is quadriplegic.

I don't think anyone in here really doubts that this was a deplorable crime.

I think it is a lot harder for guys to buy that a girl (or even three) could overpower them and force them to have sex. It is hard for me to imagine that happening to me. It is a lot easier for guys to see it happening to girls, which is why I think there is the different standard on jokes. Plus, I think the whole plumbing is different for the act to happen.

Interesting, that thought literally never crossed my mind. Three women, one of them armed? I'd be so out of my league it wouldn't even be funny. Hell, three grown up persons of any kind would likely get me down.
