A Worrying Trend

Section:

Female RPG characters are obviously becoming poorer and poorer. Already indicated by the majority of the genre representants in the past, the box cover of Ascaron's Diablo-alike Sacred provides another shiny example of this phenomenon. The archeress apparently could only afford a tanga, protectors, a helmet, some 'thing' attached to her back and a bra. Well, about one third of it.

So, if you ever happen to run across one of them, make sure to donate a few bucks or else she might not make it through the next winter. Thanks for your attention.

Haha, yes. And despite this, it's still good armour! Just imagine if they could afford some that covers their cleavage! Female heroine deaths would be sliced in half, mark my words.

The thing is, in the RPG community, wealth is being concentrated in the hands of a wealthy few. So, while Square characters such as Rikku and Yuna can afford not only warm, comfortable clothing, but a full wardrobe of class-related fashionable outfits, less fortunate RPG characters are forced to wear nothing but cliched fantasy outfits- which often means next to nothing at all.

Sadly, the real question is, if we give money to these unfortunate characters, will they spend it on warm clothing...or simply another Bow of Acid Arrows +10?

She has what appears to be a 500 carat ruby or garnet embedded in the top of her right boot. She isn't poor. I think it's obvious what has happened here. Evil attacked while she was undressing for the tanning bed.

Huh but I thought the boots are supposed come off first.... ah well one more thing I guess I will never understand.

Well, Square's creations are so 'fruitily unreal', they don't count.

The question that came to my mind is: what happens to female RPG characters in their old age? Do they merely become scantily-clad grandmas with a houseful of cats?

If that's some sort of metal armor, she doesn't appear to be wearing anything under it. Just think of the pinching.

Well, it's so small that there probably aren't any joints, which would lessen the pinching. But it's a shame - there's both cleavage and coldness (from the metal), but the metal just wouldn't be flexible enough.
