GWJ Visits Robot Panic

Section:

This week the GWJ Conference Call crew (minus Julian) paid a visit to the Drunken Gamers Podcast. You may also know them from their old name: Team Fremont Live. In addition to having us on the show, they've also launched Robot Panic - a whole new site focused on all the stuff they enjoy like games, comics, gadgets, robot porn and forehead buffing machines. Seriously though, these guys are super talented and have a great chemistry together. I'll read/listen to anything they put out.

Their latest show with our visit is now live and they've also kicked off a new contest so be sure to pay them a visit. Tell em' Steve Perry sent you.

Great show.

TO DO LIST:
1. Buy Braid
2. Visit Robot Panic and enter contest

I listened to about half an episode of TFL before I got bored with it because they were talking about old school shmups and one of them was cussing every other word which I find irritating and immature. However, I will give this podcast a try and hopefully I will enjoy it more than before.

Cussing is a mandate on the show. I actually thought this show was a little tame for them. Just sayin'.

Emailed them, harassing them about Journey. OK, but a bit morning radio show esque.

I'll put in a "here here!" for the Drunken Gamers. Been listening to them for a long time (actually since Certis mentioned them on the GWJ conference call last year sometime), and I've loved every episode. The cussing and banter between John, Moe, and Hilden is one of the reasons I enjoy the show so much. Certis is right, they have a great chemistry.

I'm sad they decided to drop their forums - it was a lot of fun - but at least now they're able to do what they've always wanted to do with a website. Good luck to them!

Man, I love Journey.

Man, listening to this makes me miss Rob's production.

Tell me about it.

We are better than everyone else.

And more modest too. We so rock.

God, you sound drunk.

I'm famous-ish!

I think this is probably the best podcast ever.

Anything mixed with booze is best evar.

EDIT: Oh. Wait. No. Nevermind.

Wha... TFL and GWJ, in one show!

[looks outside] ...hmm, no Apocalypse ...nor any rainbows and unicorns! Cats and dogs... seem to still hate each other! Huh!

I had a blast on the show, and low and behold the background music during the e-mails wasn't so bad! I still think it needs to change though!

Seriously though a really good time.

DAMMIT! THIS IS NOT RABBIT, IT'S GAALD.

Where's my gun!

I'm not sure if we need to send more or fewer meds to gencon next year.

Fewer quantity, but better quality I think.

Gamers With Jobs and Drunken Gamers, two demographics which I neatly slot into - although they can be mutually destructive.

Enjoyed the podcast, but: is it just me, or was there a good twenty minutes or so of barely-audible backing bongos in the middle segment? A bongo epic, if you will.

It's a bit like those one off comics they did where Superman and Spiderman teamed up. Awesome and yet somehow slightly unsettling.

I think that might have had more to do with Muhammed Ali being in the comic too.

We were all staying up regularly until around 2:30. The mere fact that you were awake and posting at such an early hour explains a lot about this post.

Hey all! We had a blast with your boys on our show. Glad we could have them over and we'd do it again in a heartbeat. Many, many thanks.

And, seriously now, any production criticism (unless it's delivered in a Halo-douchetasitc way) would be welcome. You can either leave it right here or email me. Email [email protected]

I think Rob delivered enough constructive criticism to last a lifetime

Add laser beam sounds every 30 seconds!

Pew pew!

Done!

I know! You rocked my world. Maybe you guys should do more content on your front page and shame us here. Oh wait, you already do.

Well, we really need your editorial and professionalism over there.

John managed to post an animated gif of a badger with a very...human appendage...swinging in the breeze without realizing it on the main page. Took a few hours before he noticed and took it down.

I have no idea how that could POSSIBLY HAPPEN but I'm sure the eagle eyes of GWJ would have caught that one straight away!

Especially if it contained a typo.
