According to the below lawsuit, Sonya Elliot, a 26-year-old health care worker, was infected with the sexually transmitted disease in April 2003 after an unprotected encounter with Vick at the athlete's Duluth, Georgia home. Elliott alleges that after testing positive for Herpes Simplex 2, she confronted the Atlanta Falcons star, 24, about her condition. "I've got something to tell you. I've got it," Vick admitted to her, according to Elliott's State Court complaint, which alleges that Vick then told her that "he had not known how to tell her about his condition, and that it was not something that he liked to talk about." Elliott's complaint also contends that Vick "apologized profusely" for not telling her he was infected with the STD. Elliot's lawsuit alleges that Vick has used the name "Ron Mexico" and, in a related court filing, her lawyers are seeking Vick's admission that he used the "Mexico" alias--and perhaps other fake names--"for the purpose of herpes testing and/or treatment." In her lawsuit, which does not specify monetary damages, Elliott states that she met Vick at a Virginia Beach nightclub in May 2001 and, shortly thereafter, began a close personal relationship with the football star (though the couple did not have sex until late-2002). Last December, Vick, the top overall pick in the 2001 National Football League draft, signed a ten-year, $130 million contract with the Falcons, the richest deal in league history. (17 pages)
Oh man, that would be awesome. How hilarious if they actually put that character name into the game. I'd definitely have to rent it if that were the case
Yikes. Sorry, I forgot that not everyone follows the NFL with quite the every day every way approach I tend to...I first saw this on profootballtalk.com, a great little rumor site.
In other news, what's up with the screen shot? Did the rest of the offensive and defensive lines call it quits? Why are those two defensive backs standing right next to each other? Are they slow dancing?
At any rate, I hope that's not indicative of the future gameplay...

The Blitz series has always been 7-on-7 (or maybe it's 8-on-8) football and will continue to be in the next iteration.
Edit: Since the official site appears to be down at the moment, you can find the trailer at Midway's E3 2k5 site. I mostly point you towards it so you can see the (confirmed) 8-on-8 (3-man line instead of 5) action because the trailer itself is pretty awful. Burn your bandwidth at your own risk.

NFL Blitz isn't a by the book football game. It's a small-team, excessive violence, fast play take on football. Hence why it looks like so many people are missing. I haven't played the series since the last version on the PSX, but it was a hell of a lot of fun in two-player mode.

Correction: it looks like the most recent version of NFL Blitz was 11-on-11. I found that while looking for Gamespot's E3 Hands-on of the game linked for your edification. While you're there, check out the actual gameplay vids (as opposed to the terrible trailer I linked above) linked from here.
Personally, I'm pretty sure I'll rent this but a pre-played copy of Madden will be my football game of choice.
I love the NFL, but when it comes to videogames, I hope this game proves to be an embarrassment for the league, and make them understand what they did when they killed off every non-Madden NFL game franchise.
Hah... that's great.
Plan to be spontaneous... tomorrow

I find myself kind of hoping that Blitz: The League toes the lawsuit line and spends much of its time defaming the NFL.
I love America more than any other country in the world, and, exactly for this reason, I insist on the right to criticize her perpetually.
Watch me learn to draw.

Nightmare is unhappy. He has complained of the lack of garbage collection lately. He was disgusted by a double pointer. He was disturbed by structs while sleeping.

More on Blitz - "We went through all our historical notes and found every [feature that the NFL] had turned down and we turned them all right back on."
