I'm looking at you, Gio. ;)

Which Brett, the drunk or the drug addict?

You see, you miserably fail by assuming that either are insults for Wisconsinites.

You expect more from people that would respond to the Discovery Channel asking them to vote for "Greatest Americans"?

Yeah, Discovery Channel was pretty low on my list of "scientifically accurate" organizations anyway, but this list is pretty silly. It's a sad indictment. I wonder how many of the "real" greats were planted just to be sure Americans and the Discovery Channel didn't look like complete idiots...

Wow...I would hope than in a list of 100 Greatest Americans one would exclude those that have spent a large majority of their early life not in America (Arnold Schwarzenegger and Mel Gibson).

Dude, do you realize this would nix ALL of the Founding Fathers?

Hmm, good point. I didn't really look at it like that. I'm thinking more of modern times but even then I see where I'm wrong. Daniel Igali is a great Canadian citizen who was born and raised in a dirt shack in an incredibly poor African country. He won olympic gold in wrestling under Canada and is now desperatelly trying to raise enough money to build a school in his home town. Although he's not even 30 yet and has only spent about 10 years or so in Canada I consider him a great Canadian. I stand corrected.

Rat Boy has it dead on. A person is smart. People are freaking idiots.

Actually, in my experience, actual persons are pretty dumb, too. Maybe I spent too much time working in a grocery store, but my view of the general public is pretty dismal. I'm glad I found GWJ tho, there's hope for us yet! Scott Adams said it best when he claimed that he could predict the future based on current trends and extrapolating them to their logical extremes based on the three tenets of human nature: greediness, horniness and stupidity.

On the subject of books, my girlfriend just bought me three awesome books about Scotland for my birthday and I'm very thrilled! Did you know they invented everything in the modern world? That's right...everything.

And teh winners are (bolds by me)...

1 Ronald Reagan
2 Abraham Lincoln
3 Martin Luther King
4 George Washington
5 Benjamin Franklin
6 George W Bush
7 Bill Clinton
8 Elvis Presley
9 Oprah Winfrey

10 Franklin D Roosevelt

Bahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha! Fraud!

Bahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha! Fraud!

My sentiment exactly. Did anyone expect something different?

Note: My respect for FDR is HUGE. I think he embodied what a leader should be.

Ummmmmmmm... Reagan?

the three tenets of human nature: greediness, horniness and stupidity.

Laziness has to fit in there somewhere too.

Wow.. and I was really pulling for Brett And Ellen

What? Where's Rob and Amber?

/ducks

Oh, delicious!

Wow these lists are a joke.

Well, I find it hard to disagree that any of their Top 5 shouldn't be included in the Top 10, but 6-10 are just plain silly...
