It's Thanksgiving here in Canada today although I've already had enough turkey over the last couple days to last me until Christmas. Since we're not actually doing any Thanksgiving stuff today I plan to zone out and play games until Volume Two of the Family Guy DVD calls me once again.

Good week for games coming up! Max Payne 2, UFO, Jak II and more to look for later this week. On the DVD front I'm sure some of you will be grabbing The Transformers Season 3 set and possibly The Matrix Reloaded if you're feeling frisky. Let's dive into the list!

The BIG Games

Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne
Platform: PC
Ships: Oct 14th
Price: $49.99

The Buzz: Max has an all new face design so he no longer looks like he's constipated all the time, I'm pretty sure it was the pain killers that did it.

MTV's Celebrity Deathmatch
Platform: PS2, PC, Xbox
Ships: Oct 14th
Price: $19.99

The Buzz: Well, it's cheap.

Haunted Mansion
Platform: Gamecube, Xbox, PS2
Ships: Oct 14th
Price: $39.99

The Buzz: It uhhh.. well.. it's based on a Disney thing and.. well. I got nothing.

Jak II
Platform: PS2
Ships: Oct 14th
Price: $39.99

The Buzz: One of the main reasons that I'll be taking my PS2 back from my brother soon. IGN recently gave it a great review applauding the story and more "adult" feel to the game.

Commandos 3: Destination Berlin
Platform: PC
Ships: Oct 14th
Price: $49.99

The Buzz: Once you hit the third game in a series you should pretty much know what to expect.

NBA Live 2004
Platform: PS2, Xbox, Gamecube
Ships: Oct 14th (15th for GC)
Price: $49.99

The Buzz: Do you have a basketball jones? This is the game for you!

Batman: Rise of Sin Tzu
Platform: Xbox, PS2, Gamecube
Ships: Oct 16th
Price: $39.99

The Buzz: I haven't heard or seen anything that tells me this is a good Batman game. Wait for a rent.

UFO: Aftermath
Platform: PC
Ships: Oct 16th
Price: $39.99

The Buzz: A spiritual successor to Xcom, UFO is built on a real-time engine that pauses dynamically when you encounter an alien and hit other such events. I would have liked a full turn-based system but early reports indicate that this one isn't too bad.

Max Payne 2, can't wait. I'll pass on the Matrix. I'm sure next year there will be an uber-box set of all 3 movies. But who wouldnt want to get Star Trek 5?

But who wouldnt want to get Star Trek 5?

People who are waiting for the uber-box set

Bleh....nothing interests me until later this month with Call of Duty..

And then its a long wait for DX2..

I don't buy into calling it DX:Invisible War..

I will be buying Reloaded, partly because I haven't seen it yet, partly because it will be like $15 while a rental is $5, so why not buy it and mostly because I loved the first one.

Let's hope this Batman game is better than the last.

LG, save the $10. Really. Rent it once and buy a few new pairs of socks and you'll be way better off.

I can't believe Max Payne 2 is really coming out.  I mean, it seems like it should be at least another six months or so... not that I'm complaining; it looks awesome.

Definitely can't wait for Call of Duty and DX2.
